I just found you guys. I love my GSP, and anything I can learn to help us have a better life is much appreciated. You have given me some things to think about and apply even though my girl is pretty well adjusted. I have had dogs/GSP's throughout my life, hunting them, fishing with them (this one will bring one to hand without a scale missing) but really find new thinking and perspectives so good. Thanks!!!

I've been doing it all wrong all this time. I need to take up a part-time job running my dog 2 hours a day. Got it

Don't get a dog that needs this amount of exercise if you can't provide for it's needs!

This was so helpful thank you, we’ve been struggling with this, and I finally feel as thought there is some proper guidance. Not just leave for 10seconds then walk back in and so on. As that hasn’t worked. Thank you!

19:01 my GSP is 17mths .. he completely freaks if I leave him. I've had 3 behaviourists and 2 dog sitters have given up on him. He's fine in kennels, which I've used since a puppy. Already eaten his way out of 2 crates and broken out of the house many times. I feel so sorry for him .. I packed up my job to spend more time with him, longer walks and runs on the hills. Believe me I've watched everything, and spend such alot of energy with him but it's not helping him

Excellent video🙏, my GSP is good, goes in her crate and sleeps, however she is so needy, like I feel if she could crawl in our skin she would, not sure if this is normal for this breed or? I know it’s a bi product of there raising as she was a rescue. Any thoughts?

I have a gsp and he is so needy as well i can't even shower without him wanting to sit on the rug right by the tub so i get it. It's very frustrating

I've got a Large Münsterländer who is also needy. He is more of a lap cat than our cat. He has also separation anxiety although we have another dog as well. It must be in these kind of gundogs.

My almost two year old girl is the same. She just goes to her crate and sleeps when I have to be gone, but when we are together she is truly a Velcro dog. Not like she’s nervous about being away from me, just more like she absolutely loves being near me 24/7.

My dog is a 1 year old GSP mix (With I believe a Mcnab dog and a rednose pitty but I'm not sure) but she is very protective and clingy, she follows me in the kitchen, right by my feet when I cook something, right by me when I watch something, when I sleep, and other then the bathroom (because I don't let her in) she follows me everywhere. Also I've been told by my mom, if you attempt to wake me up she will not only block you but also nip you. Although she is scared of Men and little kids (about 7 and under I'd say) she is a pretty social dog. Although FEMALE GSP dogs have a tendency to choose 1 or 2 people and bond with them, they are clingy. Being a rescue dog does NOT guarantee that the dog will be clingy, sometimes it means the exact opposite. Also my dog never follows the rest of my family unless they have food and NEVER listens to my family as well as me. There isn't really anything you can do, just hope they get less clingy when they grow out of the puppy phase. I would just like to point out that being clingy is good in some ways, this means the dog trusts and really likes you, this also means the dog considers you part of the pack, watching you go to the bathroom? That's because wolves would have to guard their packmate while going to the bathroom. Also dogs help relieve blood pressure, so with your dog always by you, they are like a little stress ball.

I think all dogs will be needy 😅 it’s in their nature
