    I started “leave it” with my puppy right when I got her at 7 weeks old (she inhaled her food). I’m excited to use this in a more advanced way now that she’s a little older to help with impulse control. Thank y’all for all your videos and the work you do!

    Hello, a new subscriber here from Hungary! I watched several dog trainer channels and your explanations are the closest for me. My chocolate brown lab puppy girl has been born just four days ago and I am preparing to welcome her by the end of November :) I mean "preparing" actively, by learning what to say while Lion King her ;) and learn her needs and ways to make her a well trained _happy_ puppy. (Though I love all kind of animals and always wanted a pet she's my very first dog. Previously I inherited a cat with my house but he passed away at 15, fourteen years ago.)

    Hello, I'm from Brazil I'm subscribed to the channel, you have a playlist of step by step how to teach my dog to point. What should you teach first in the correct order? I watch your videos and understand them by the subtitles and I learn a lot. Thanks in advance.

    When you lowered the bowl, I reflexively pulled my arm up! Food bowl impulse control is one thing I’ve taught my digs well. My dogs always sit until I release them to eat. My arm has the reflex. I’m not as good at teaching ‘Leave it’ or ‘Drop’. Guess I need more practice and repetitions before I get the reflex response on these 😛 !

    This is a question off topic but I was curious to what you think of feeding hunting dogs whole pray, like rabbit, chicken, duck and quail.
    And if quail is a option would it make it harder to hunt with a bird dog.

    Is there always going to be a reward even down the road when they get further along in training and they start to understand what you want them to do?

    YAWA question: my dog keeps peeing in his kennel. He is almost 5 months old and is a GSP. We try to limit water intake and let him out when needed but he does it a lot. He also wakes up at like 1:00am regularly needing to pee. Any help?

      There are several things that could be going on here. What kind of crate and what size is it? Also, have you looked into a UTI or bladder infection with your vet?

    • @jeffkaye1
      @jeffkaye1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a wire crate, i know not ideal. If anything it's slightly too small, we are switching to a larger better fitting one this weekend. We put beach towels down on the inside because i can't keep washing the dog bed. Is it possibly a bedding issue? What kind of bedding do you all use inside the kennel? Thank you!

    GSP. PLEASE HELP!!! My 11 month old chocolate lab knows my two girls (5&7) are weak and can’t hold him back when they leave the house. He is VERY smart. As soon as he sees them leaving he gets ready and goes in a full sprint knocking them out the door and trampling them as he runs and TERRORIZES the neighbors. They are terrified and want us to fence our yard. I don’t want to fence my yard but if i have to i have to. But i have tried commands “wait” and he knows them. But he does not listen when it comes to my kids. I tell him when the kids go out. He appears to be waiting and then book in a flash he runs them over. Please. Advice puhhhhlease! We never did e-collar. Is this e-collar worthy?

      Why don't you just put the dog in his kennel before your girls leave the house?

    Its funny how you can have great success with leave it training, progress forward with total compliance for months - then they get a toad in the mouth and prey drive turns reward values upside down then suddenly "leave it!" means swallow...... 😐😐

    How about just teaching the dog the command, then enforcing it around distractions as you add distractions in, sit means sit, whoa means whoa, come means come.... ......real life stuff?.... Clicker nonsense...
