Chetak scene : Chalate huye uncle. Peeche side seated aunty. A cloth bag, full of vegetables and a kid standing on the front. Those days were amazing. Irony is, I can't drive geared scooters. I have never driven nor got a chance. I simply don't know how to drive 😭

I have driven the chetak my friend's father still have it and tomorrow I am again going to drive it. I don't have one but still I know what charm and quality they have.

Vespa 150 was the first motorized 2-wheeler I drove, then I drove all the Bajaj models. They were totally maintenance free, very easy to use and utility vehicles. It was not uncommon to see a man with his wife sitting behind holding a baby and another little child standing in the front along with a bag full of groceries on the left side because rear brake was on the right foot! Fantastic scooters, all of them! Remember the older models, you had to tilt it to one side to get the petrol into the carburettor and it would start instantly!!

Kudos to you friend for presenting such usefull information especially regarding history side of Chetak. I think Bajaj 150 starts production in 1972 and Chetak may around 1975-77, is it so ?

I really want to ride priya scooter but unfortunately its not near me.. i didn't sold my chetak and really don't want to do so.. Its really iconic and i m emotionally attached with my scooter. आज भी याद है वह स्कूल के दिन जब पापा के office से आने के बाद उनके बजाज चेतक की चाबियाँ धीरे से चुरा कर स्कूटर चलाया करता था मैंने बाइक चलना इसी स्कूटर से सीखा, पापा को अक्सर पता चल जाता था और अक्सर डांट भी पडती थी लेकिन इसे चलाने का मज़ा कुछ और ही था.

आपके चेतक पर प्लस साइन लगा देख स्माइल आ गया मेरे पापा भी डॉक्टर है और 1992 के आस पास वैस्पा लिए थे जिसके हॉर्न ग्रिल पर और पीछे नंबर प्लेट पर प्लस साइन लगा था.. खूब घूमे है हम वैस्पा पर

Kudos to you for your great presentation once more.True Chetak scooter had made history in India for its robust built & trouble free running with heavy loads.Even today some milkmen are using this for its heavy pulling capacity.Anyway it is again coming in an new AVATAR as an electrical one.This was late Rahul Bajaj's favourite too.
