I tried to buy Bajaj Chetak but the waiting period was 12 months in 1986. Then I turned to Vespa150 NV and it was way ahead of Bajaj Chetak in everything. Electronic ignition, Anti Braking System, Long Seat, Petrol tank under seat, Spare wheel under wing which was safe, side lights, Single key, Speedometer with petrol Guage, good suspension. I bought the Vespa then.

@@venugopalbk4144 Even the LML was suitable for steep roads. The riding was better because of balance, engine on one side and tyre on the other. No doubt, Chetak was a strong scooter compared to LML.
Yes sir you are right. Design, turn indicator, spare wheel inside body, beautiful seat with rear lock, rear grab rail for pillion rider, tail light all was far better than chetak.
What is anti braking system ?🤔
@@riteshnets Anti breaking system is to stop wheels from getting locked, to assist in maintaining stability of scooter and helps in reducing breaking distance. It's like a mini pump which unlocks the wheel and pumps the brakes again.

I had enjoyed to ride Bajaj cub scooter in Jan.1990 to 2002. It was fantastic. I bought Rs. 15000. That was golden period for two wheeler of Bajaj. Hamara Bajaj !

Yes my father was having baaj super and it was a luxury for us in those days. As we were living in the heart of city our fuel cost was very low, once the tank was full, it can be used for 10 to 12 days.
Chetak was my first vehicle and I loved it ... very stable , steady and no maintenance ..
I have great respect for Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Group and Bajaj ethics. . . . Today, Bajaj Auto exports two wheelers to many many countries. . . In countries like Indonesia, Bajaj Auto-Rickshaws are popular and they call it Baaja . . .

One correction, Chetack was developed by Gujarat Govt near Ahmedabad around 1970. This was because Italy was holding the monopoly of Vaspa. Chetak came with side signals and some other feature vespa did not have. It had given tough competition to Bajaj. Price of scooters came down, Lambretta scooter (another Italian company ) pulled out of Indian market. Vespa gave in to Bajaj rights to manufacture parts in India. By 1980, Congrrass govt in Gujarat sold Chetak to Bajaj and Chetak is Bajaj Chetak.

I remember people waited more than five years to get Bajaj scooter even after a deposit 8f Rs 500/_ during the days when the salary of Jawan was less than 300, I purchased Bajaj cchetak metallic blue in the year 1997 April , with composite tail lamp 🙂, a problem with the scooter was , it needs to be turned towards left side before starting 😅

घटिया टेक्नोलॉजी और कूड़े को , अपने सरकारो में कनेक्शन और मोनोपोली के जरिये , ठबेरने
और कॉम्पीटिटर की अच्छी टेक्नोलॉजी को, साम दाम दंड भेद के जरिये तबाह करने का बजाज का पुराना रिकॉर्ड रहा है।
बजाज की 125 किसी की बाइक, के कॉम्पिटिशन में tvs की फ्लेम, बड़ा खतरा बन गई थी, (2007-8)
क्योकि इसमें ट्विन स्पार्क प्लग का इनोवेशन था1।
बजाज ने इसमें, कोर्ट केस डाल कर, सारे रिकॉल करवा दिए
2 साल बाद जब tvs सुप्रीम कोर्ट में जीत गया, तब तक बजाज, अपना भी ट्विन स्पार्क प्लग के मॉडल ले आया था और tvs moters को अपने TVS flame model को सिंगल स्पार्क प्लग में ऑस्ट्रियन AVL के इंजिन replace करने पड़े, जो अच्छी डिज़ाइन नही थी।
TVS flame बर्बाद हो चुकी थी, और बजाज पल्सर, डिस्कवर, आदि में ट्विन स्पार्क, ला कर मार्किट कैप्चर हो चुका था।
ये बजाज ने जुडिशरी और मीडिया के साथ मिलकर, TVS को बर्बाद किया था।
इसी तरह, Tata नैनो को खत्म करने में बजाज का बड़ा हाथ रहा है।
मीडिया, जुडिशरी, और ममता बनर्जी के साथ मिलकर, सिंगुर में बवंडर मचवाया,
सिंगुर से सानंद प्लांट शिफ्टिंग में टाटा नैनो, 3 साल late हो गई1।
फिर मीडिया से नैनो की चीप इमेज की bad पब्लिसिटी करवाई,
साथ ही बजाज Cute, स्माल कार का development जारी रखा,
नैनो के साथ ही, फिर बजाज cute आई पर ये तो सिर्फ 4 पहिये का ऑटो रिक्शा था जो बजाज की मैक्सिमम डिज़ाइन कैपेबिलिटी थी।
चूंकि, टाटा नैनो ने अपनी कार की डिज़ाइन के 450 से भी ज्यादा इनोवेशन पेटेंट करवा लिए थे इसलिये, बजाज cute की design में, टाटा नैनो की डिज़ाइन से कोई चोरी संभव नही थी,
बस यही बजाज cute मार खा गई, और अब कबाड़ की तरह फैल हो गई।
ये 2 उदाहरण, बजाज के मोनोपोली, डिज़ाइन चोरी, डर्टी ट्रिक्स, सरकार के साथ सांठगांठ और fare कॉम्पिटिशन को खत्म करने के साथ घटिया डिज़ाइन घटिया माल को भारी मुनाफे से मोनोपोली मार्किट में जबरदस्ती कस्ट्मर को ठबेरने की घटिया चालों को उजागर करती है।
आज भी कोई भी pulor बाइक,2 से 3 साल में कबाड़ बन जाती है1।
जबकि सुजुकी, हौंडा और यामाहा का फिट एंड फिनिश, जबरदस्त होता है।
प्रॉपर केअर के साथ सुजुकी बाइक, 10-12 साल आराम से चलती है।
एक ही इंजिन से 12-15 मॉडल निकलना, फिर हर 2 साल में मॉडल बंद कर देना,

फिर डिस्कवर भी 125, 150
फिर क्रूज़ बाइक में भी वोही 200 और 220 के इंजन,
इतने ज्यादा मॉडल,
जो जनम लेगा वो मरनेंवाला हैंही.ऊसमें न ई क्या बात हैं. मगर एक बहोत अच्छा प्रोडक्शन बंद पड गया.ईसीका दूख होता हैं.

Bajaj CHETAK could have done wonders and probably been the toughest competition to Honda-Activa if Bajaj would have launched it in automated transmission. But Bajaj have a habit of killing it's successful products ( Caliber, Discover).

Agreed instead of Saffire(Later Wave) they could have launched Chetak as gearless scooter to face Activa

Monopoly of Bajaj scooters were first broken by LML of owned by Deepak Singhania. They started their factory at Panki area of Kanpur in 80's.
Did you forget along with Bajaj there was Lambretta and its different statewise version Vijay Super(Lucknow based),Allwyn Pushpak(Hyderabad),Kesari (Punjab)etc) was also ruling and they were much better in space and handling. the only reason for buying bajaj was its lighter and agile. Then came back original Vespa with Lohias Alliance and these 2 (Bajaj n LML) became runaway success as the others just vanished without any new technology and designs.

शुरूआती दौर में चेतक विदेशी मुद्रा में मिलता था ।याने जिन के मित्र रिश्तेदार विदेश में रहते थे वे वहां से डालर भेजते थे।तब चेतक मिलता था। ।बाद में वेस्पा एक्स ई के आने पर इन्होंने अपना प्रोडक्शन बढ़ा कर बाजार बचाया।

Mere paas bhi tha chetak 2000 model.v gud scooter.25-30 ki average thee.Us time mein rs 100 ka petrel dalwaya tha 3.5 ltr. Kabhi koi problem nahin hui.
My father purchased Bajaj Chetak for Rs 5400 in 1976. I used it for 23 long years, and sold to my friend although it was good. I purchased Bajaj Super in 1999 and sold it in 2016 as we settled in other state. My experience with both models was wonderful. It failed as it did not have self starting facility.

I have Bajaj Chetak Scooter in excellent condition Model July 1993. But due to expiry of its registration , It's pollution check is not allowed. I hesitate to drive on road Due to police Challan phobia. But I love it more than my Car.
