To truly make us believe that the TIF was life changing for your featured patient is to not to do a follow up 6 months after their procedure but rather do a follow up 5 to 6 years after their TIF procedure as this would give us a more accurate assessment of how well the TIF works. And in 8 to 10 years have the patient do a TIF redo with a follow up 6 months to 1 year after to show us how well he is doing then. This way we get to see whether this procedure is truly life changing in the long term and most importantly that it works! It seems like the doctor here truly believes in this procedure so I don't think this is too much to ask.

I've been thinking of this procedure for awhile. I have asthma and probably GERD as well but I got an endoscopy and my GI said he didn't see anything. I've taken all sorts of medications ranging from PPIs to H2 blockers with little to no relief of my asthma symptoms nor hae they stopped bloating, regurgitation, indigestion, and heartburn. Regular asthma medications also don't work and I've tried increasing the dosage and even prednisone. I believe this procedure would help me. I'm speaking with a TIF specialist in a teleconference on thursday.

I had tif procedure 7 weeks ago, minimal pain, some esophageal spasms first week, then lots of burping, burping starting to get better around 5-6 week. I get stomach gas and bloating also, hoping that subsides. My doc said at 6 weeks I can start to eat more types of foods, so tried a few fries, bothered me. So guessing wondering about healing time, some say 6 weeks some say 8, some say as much as 3 months. There's days I get discouraged, hoping I did the right thing by having this surgery
