- Photographer Alan Dyer filmed a lunar eclipse from a vantage point in Alberta. He told Storyful that he shot the video of the eclipse “under perfectly clear skies at Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, overlooking the Milk River in southern Alberta.”

People sure tried, but no one has actually ever observed the earth's movement. We have devices like interferometers, accelerometers and gyroscopes that are amazingly accurate at detecting movement. They have always given a null result for earth movement, all the way to the most modern electronic high tech laser devices. You can check what Hawking and dozens of other physicians and astronomers had to say about this, no need to take my word for it.

why is the shadow vertical on the moon, it should be horizontal from bottom-up??? @@tinefurlan its flat earth. If you look on the flat earth map app. You go to the date sept 27 2015. The sun is on the far side of the earth. And causes a shadown on the moon.. Earth is flat. There is no space. Life is beyond Antarctica and also inside the north pole

Cool! Of all the videos of lunar eclipses I've seen, I believe this is the first one with a wide view time lapse. It's really neat the eclipse amidst the stars.

Key word “If” because you will never see footage of a lunar eclipse from space. Nothing on earth can leave earth’s atmosphere. Earth is a closed system. Space is created with computer images. The moon landings were all fake.

@@tinefurlan The moon orbits Earth at an angle. It wasn’t even that vertical. Y’all just can’t except the fact the Earth is a globe because you think a book which has been tampered with is telling the truth.
@CrxMarksman you don’t. I look at the moon all the time with my 12x60 binoculars and I have never seen stars behind it. Vids that claim to show that are either intentionally altered or they have camera issues.

Its the shadow of the sun hiding behind a mountain on the far side of the earth.. Its flat earth.. It's hard to believe..but why dont you think they have ever made a movie or show or documentary about flat earth...ever.. Search operation high jump, and so on

It can occur again on January 10-11, 2019, but it will be a penumbral lunar eclipse instead of total lunar. If you're living in the US, atmost southern part, unfortunately, it can't be seen. It will be occured at few parts of Canada, Alaska, between 6-7 cities in western part of Brazil, Greenland, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Australia.

Your observation is good. Suggest you research into it fully. You'll be amazed at the findings. Btw, you missed another obvious one that almost everyone does as well. Keep watching that shadow on the spherical moon and you'll get it. Good luck
Ken Cox, are you assuming that the shadow should've been fixed in the sky? The movement of both the moon and the shadow mostly has to do with the rotation of the Earth, so they both move the same way. The movement of the shadow relative to the moon has to do with the moon's orbit, and is slower.
Accidental Mentor, is your concern with the shadow on the spherical moon that the shadow should be distorted due to the moon's curvature? Since the sun's rays are parallel to our line of sight during the lunar eclipse the shadow is not distorted from our perspective. You can see this by holding a light source, like a flashlight, close to your eyes and pointing outward in a dark room. Any shadow cast by that light source will be undistorted by the curved surface it's cast on.
I've checked the time and location in Stellarium. The shadow moved as expected.

Tine Furlan The shadow is as expected. Stellarium is open source software based on the heliocentric model can be used to see what the moon and sun looked like at that time and location. Here's what the moon looked sitting on the horizon (the green line) just after moonrise:

Notice that the center of the sun is slightly below the horizon. They are within about 1/8° of having the opposite altitude of each other. And there's a bit of refraction (selenelion). The azimuth angles reveal that the sun was about 1° toward the right (sunny) side of the moon, causing the shadow to be on the left.
Stellarium is used by amature astronomers to guide their telescopes, so it's probably accurate.
The umbra (totally dark portion of the shadow) is a circle. It's possible to do some calculations to see that it's the diameter one would expect from Earth.
Think about how terrifying this was to the ppl in lilke the 1500s
