Portal 2 gave me major heebie jeebies because it was so huge and isolated. Portal 1, it was the central mystery that was paid off later, but now with the genie out of the bottle, P2 was really creepy in a Myst sort of way minus the intrigue after the initial overgrown jungly test chambers that showed signs of Earth life but deserted civilization. Same with Glados's possible half-lie about spotting humans outside. Seeing a bunch of bodies would freak me out at first since that's such a shocker with the context of the rest of the game, but would eventually placate me. My driving motivator within the context of the story was to get the hell out of an endless metal, lifeless vacuous labyrinth.
Honestly I think it'd be cool to see more games looking at the negative aspects of war. I'll admit I don't know anything about Call Of Duty so for all I know it could be scathing and anti-war but from what I do know, including recurring characters and a whole online system, it doesn't feel entirely anti-war. Nothing wrong with games set during wars, cuz some of my favourite games are about warfare, like TF2, technically Half-Life 2 is a war, but I mean a game which may be slower, less about combat, more realistic, but showing you the destruction of innocent lives, homes, children, etc. I'm imaging the events of the song "Hero of War" played out as a game, it'd be grim, depressing, but embody what makes war so bad, games have an advantage over movies, tv, and music where you can truly feel how bad war is by committing atrocities and interacting with them, rather than just being described them. I wish more games would utilise the fact they are games instead of movies more, but I'm a hypocrite saying that.
CoD 4 was the good first part of that but lost the point of the futility of that anthology of no-name soldiers dying and being tiny cogs. The games afterward overdosed on Michael Bay, cold war plots, and good old fashioned post-9/11 morally justified jingoism.

There are few things more pointless than war, and it's always sickening to see those who cheer it on and celebrate when kids are sent to die
I really like the Charles Heston Omega Man movie based on the same novel as I am Legend. A lot of good environmental story telling going on.
The Last Man on Earth is also recommendable, if only for Vincent Price's performance
Yeah better - and so sweaty! But sitll doesn't have that umph!
@@chetfaliszek bro hurry up and make left 4 dead 3 and half life 3. us fans dont have long left to live.
@@we_played_Hob_Gobbies_together Chet Faliszek no longer works for Valve.
@@we_played_Hob_Gobbies_together too bad he doesnt work at valve anymore
The world war z book was also completely different than the movie!
Yeah and the movie wasn't for the better...
I’m glad to see tf2 and cock were together from day one
What films would you recommend to watch that had an influence or inspiration on all the games mentioned?

There were originally Dead bodies in portal? Do you mean portal 1 and dead test subjects?
No but someone was arguing for them to be added.
You look like Doug Rattman irl
In perfectly good faith, his speech _could_ be as disorganized as a schizophrenic person's.
