- This IKEA VITTSJÖ shelf is giving me so much more room and brightness in my plant room - it made such a difference. It was time to retire my old shelf as it was becoming a little worn from the constant moisture and overall plant maintenance I was doing on it over the past 5-7 years.
Back in either August or September I was off and on the restock waitlist to get this shelf. So it's been a long time coming.
Building this plant shelf and setting it up wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I definitely have plenty of room for my houseplant collection on this shelf, and it will be much easier to take care of them.

Hi Amanda, it looks so good love how bright it’s now! I had similar issue with my cord and I spray paint them to white and it fixed my issue. Whatever you do it will be nice 👍 .

They also make cloth cord covers or you could make them.

i feel your pain with the cables being a different color. It drives me nuts too with my setup when when it isn't all matching lol. I have "cord jackets" too all throughout my house for all my cords to keep them out of sight lol

Spray paint the wires lol.
I had to open mine in the car and carry it in piece by piece. I got the black one but I really wish I got the white one now.
The box was so long 🤭 I actually got it delivered, but I’m sure if I didn’t I would have too. I went back and forth so much deciding on black or white. The black one is so sleek looking

It was much easier than I thought it would be. I hear horror stories about ikea furniture being notoriously hard to put together so I was nervous lol.
Barrina t5 are perfect and they have white cables 😊

Hi! I was just on the IKEA website looking at this and thought I would see who had it on TH-cam! Nice job and it turned out great, but what I really want to know now is where did you get that lamp in the corner!!!! Also, I'm with you my cords must blend or be virtually out of sight!

Noooo I didn't know they are discontinuing vittsjo that makes me so sad. I have 2 and was thinking of getting a 3rd for my orchids and it's out of stock everywhere.
