    I find Choibalsan to be a pretty fascinating man. For one, not many folks know about him here in the west. He's a relatively unknown dictator who pretty much went under everyone's radar during both World War II and the Cold War. He's one of the many reasons I want to one day take an extended vacation to Mongolia. Immerse myself in as much culture, history, and geography as I can.

    I found this video very interesting I was looking for some TH-cam videos on Mongolia during the Communist era I think the history of Communist Mongolia is not well talked about I find it very interesting that Mongolian was written in the Cyrillic script

    Nice video, love ur stuff and learning about communist Mongolia also interesting facts. Mongolia held its first multiparty election in 1990 despite this the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (The Communist Party) won with 85% of the votes. They are still around today but from 1990-96 they reformed both the state and party from a Marxist-Leninist one to a left wing socialist one. In 1992 a new Constitution was made officially ending the people’s republic. And in 1996 they were voted out of power.

    Down dirty SHAME that the Sukhbaatar Square (where you were standing) was renamed to Chinggis Khaan Square.
    Especially considering how Sukhbaatar was the main man that helped us reach independence from the Qing dynasty.
    My grandma was pretty upset at the change, and understandably so.

    I just watched this yesterday but came back to comment now. Mongolia is a very interesting country I didn't know it became communist. It makes sense though as it was between 2 communist countries.

    • @HistoryHustle
      @HistoryHustle  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, it was actually the second country in the world to fully adopt communism (after the Soviet Union was proclaimed).

    I kinda feel bad for the han chinese in Mongolia at the time. Where if you go south you’ll surely starve. If you go north. You’ll rot in a gulag. If you stay. You won’t even be able to own an axe.

    The Celestial Khagan Bek (person) embodies the ancient Greek cynicism rule/observation of Diogenes: Absolute highly ethical and moral person with wisdom, living one month in wealth in the Gold Palace then next month living in Mongolian Tent, etc. One ethical violation the person is removed and a new search begins throughout the countries within the Celestial Alliance. If person is not found (similar to Diogenes looking for an honest person) then the office is absent for a year. Then the whole populace votes in their perception of who is honest rather nomination, legislative voting and appointment of 'The Celestial Khagan Bek'. The person sleeps across from the large Gold empty 'The Celestial Emperor Chair'. The spectacle will show discipline, honor, patience and the imperfectability of human beings. Open to all persons, no matter of religion or the lack of religion. The person must keep an observational journal.

    Battles of Khalkhin Gol
    May 11, 1939 - Sep 16, 1939
    Mongolian Soviet victory (ceasefire agreement signed) That result was disgusting because The Japanese and Manchurian forces did not have enough air forces and battle tanks This is why Japan did not win the battle it should have won against the communist Mongolian Soviet enemy.
    Border claims according to the Soviet and Mongolian interpretation "regional changes"
