Which brace do I use for a twisted femur? I want to know because my doctor said I might have it and I want to know the questions to ask after getting the results from the MRI scan of the knee and CT scan.
@@holly5678 this will less likely be a brace issue, and more likely be an issue at the level of the hip joint. Unfortunately, a knee brace will not typically help in this scenario.
so i had a acl and mcl reconstruction almost 3 years ago and im a big hardcore mosh dancer and i tend to throw some flying spinning kicks and stuff so i want to know which one of the knee braces would be flexible enough and support my knee at the same time
Based on the type of activity you would do, something more flexible would be ideal. However, I'd say go to a clinic and try them on and dance and see if you are okay with the feel of the brace. This would be the best way to determine if they would work for you.
Doctor, I have hyperextension in my knee along with mild arthritis. Which knee brace should I use? How long should I wear it during the day? And for how many months or years does the use of that knee brace usually last?
My brace recommendations really vary based on the physical exam but for most people trying a soft double hinged knee brace is a great place to start. If the arthritis is bad on one side of the knee, then and offloader can be helpful as well.
Hi, I have an issue with my right knee, I'm not entirely sure what it is as the pain comes and goes. I think it might be a touch of bursitis. Is there any knee brace which might help this?
For ACL, and ligament instabilities you’re looking towards the braces that have more of a skeleton component. Mainly because the ACL is responsible for the anterior posterior translation of the tibia. So you’ll usually need an ACL specific brace. Now the research is out whether it absolutely is required, but people will find it helpful when they play sports, or postop. However, not all surgeons use the brace post op either.
If knee pain is truly due to RA I would first recommend speaking with a rheum to address the underlying disease process as oral agents may be required.
I’m not aware of that. But if you look at the history of osteoarthritis, there is a natural change in the anatomy as the cartilage starts to degrade. Ultimately these braces are trying to offload The joint that is strained because the cartilage has been worn down.
At the beginning of the year i got mcl tear and I been recover for a while now. When i got back to sport, everything was fine, my running jumping, etc. however if i apply to much pressure my knee felt like it was twisted or something. Felt like my knee was loose. Which one would you recommend for basketball player like me. Btw awesome informative video
The main question you will need to ask is what motion is causing the buckling. if its lateral, the double hinged braces can be helpful - lots of athletes prefer braces like that one. I encourage people to try on a few and see if they find them helpful before purchasing.
Did you plan to do surgery? I had a bad sprain on my left knee , it twists out if I apply too much pressure. 2 weeks in recovering. But no plan on surgery yet , can't afford it
Should I wear knee braces to work? I’m on my feet 8-10 hours a day and walking up stairs while heavy lifting has left me with tendinitis in both knees my doctor said and painful popping. I’ve done the Rice method but still in pain…more exercise?
Any specific knee brace questions. Leave them down below!
Hi I have patella dysplasia and i got told a J brace is best for this ? Would you agree ?
@@jdee_Golf It can help if the patella is prone to moving laterally as the j-brace can help stabilize it.
Would you please put a link for the offloader knee brace showed in this video? Thank you.

I don't typically recommend a brace for bursitis.
What would you recommend for a leo who has a type 3 acl injury

Do you recommend PRP for knee pain due to Rheumatoid Arthritis? Thank you in advance.

Where is your practice Located at ?
My surgeon's PA told me yesterday that an unloader brace will permanently change my anatomy. Is that even true? Thanks!

Many patients will choose to wear braces at work so it’s definitely a next step you can consider.
