Welcome to the naming convention of Tiggo! Here in Indonesia Tiggo 8 was sold as three types 1. Tiggo 8 (no pro, 1600 cc turbo, new front grill). 2. Tiggo 8 pro (2000 cc turbo old interior and front grill ). 3. Tiggo Pro Max (2000 cc turbo, with new interior, new grill, and AWD variant). All type has two trim Comfort and Premium with different features. I have own my Tiggo 8 pro for 1.5 years, got 18k km clock in the dash. Daily drive along with my Peugeot 5008. No major issue, only once I have issue with the key remote which give a beeping error whenever I lock the door. Take it to the dealer they fix it by re-initialize the remote. My only concern is some of the interior gave noise when moving on bad road. Will likely fix by finding the source of sound. The engine is so powerful that you have to acustomized pushing the gas pedal. On the highway the acceleration blows out lots of SUV in its class, only some powerful twice the price of the car that maybe able to beat this engine. Agree that the beeping when car left on is safety features Paint quality is good in mine, but my car is locally built, maybe different manufacturing process in Russia? Smartphone connection is simple, but the audio unit really picky on the cable and brand of phone that were connected. My experience you must use the original phone cable and use Chinese made smartphone (I use Xiaomi). My Samsung phone can connect but sometimes freeze. Good tip on adding mesh to the grill, but will use a larger mesh to avoid congestion of air during high speed. My friend tiggo 8 pro has pass 70k km with no trouble, only changing brake pad in 60k. Price of the parts in Indonesia is rather expensive compared to other Chinese car. The battery itself cost around AUD 300 because it's an AGM battery that often use in BMW and Mercs. It's for the start stop system of the car. Normal battery cost about AUD 100-150 here. Sorry if my comments getting long. But overall I'm satisfied with the car, and probably will trade it with the PHEV one when they release it in Indonesia. Fuel consumption, city driving 9-10 km/l, on highway 14-15 km/l.
Yeah they have these cars 2-3 years before we get them, and the weather conditions are much harsher, so every imperfection and build quality flaw will show by the time we consider buying these in Australia.
The car beeping with engine on, if you leave with the "key fob" is not an issue I'm my opinion, if you leave the car ....turn it off. Secondly I would never wash any car with a high pressure washer, it forces water into places it would not go, and it's a brutal way to clean.. my opinion is always rinse first, wash with a sponge, rinse off, dry with chamois.
For the 2nd owner, that kind of fine mesh will seriously hinder airflow to the radiator, though. At high speeds, air will slam into that fine mesh as if it were a solid surface.
Tiggo 4 is definitely looking like real value for money and I will be reviewing one. Plus, my good friend who still lives in Russia actually owns one. So I'll be combining both reviews, stay tuned.
I think it all goes to show that the Tiggo is built to a price rather than a standard. Nothing wrong with that as long as you bear that in mind when buying one.....
From what I been told Chinese car manufacturers have two production lines one for international sales including Russia and the other for European, Asia American countries were better quality products needed to compete in those markets
Our model in Australia has a much better dash and comes with a 2.0 lt turbo with 185kw and 385 NM . I drove one, and it's a great car, especially in 4wd version
That's what I've pointed out. Ours are better, but they are still from the same manufacturer and not entirely different vehicle, which is why this is supposed to be insightful.
Oh! You rock! I loved your MG HS and Haval 6 reviews. I didn't know you had a Chery Tiggo 8 review. I just bought a used one in Mexico with 30k km. I'm afraid to watch the rest of your video now. Did I F myself?
Liked the video. Good information shared... I think chery is similar to mg... Both look good visually but as you live with them you learn their limitations and characteristics. No car is perfect. Just depends on what you can live with according to your budget. I think depreciation on these cars is also a good consideration unless you plan to use them for minimum 5 years.
I agree with you mate. Somehow and without any other tangible reason I also compare Chery to MG. GWM is still "above" that level in terms of build quality and even visual perception. With this said though, I do like the look of 8 Pro Max, it looks more expensive and the build seems quite solid too.

Thank you for that. So good to hear experiences from OUTSIDE Australia.👍👍

Agree with both your points mate.
2nd point I disagree.
Car paint has to take such abuse.
I pressure wash my 20 year old car and the paint is almost as good as new.
For the 2nd owner, that kind of fine mesh will seriously hinder airflow to the radiator, though. At high speeds, air will slam into that fine mesh as if it were a solid surface.
I think the car beeping under those conditions is warranted! I’m looking to buy a Tiggo 4 Pro when they arrive in Australia….

I'd go further here mate and say that most modern cars are built to a price, even the latest China-made Toyotas like Corolla Cross.

Cuz that's the 8 pro max. The 8 pro in the video is no longer sold in Russia. But the 8 pro and 8 pro max share a lot of components

No I think you'll be okay mate! 😉
I guess the car beeping is actually a good thing
I agree, I don't mind it
Thank you! I will now buy a Toyota
Do Russian consumers receive the same / similar warranty support as in Australia?
I actually have no idea, but suspect that their warranty etc would be generous but of course different.
Good insight on new cars' to Oz, and their durability in more established other markets.
Glad you've enjoyed it. Their markets are full of awesome insights we'll never get from anywhere else in AU.
