- After weighing a lot of different options, I've landed on the Hifiman Arya Organic and the Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies for my personal setup. After running this combo for the last few months, I have zero regrets.

I’m eating a banana on a forklift right now.
I’m taking a dump on company time right now
EEEYUP
tame version of instagram comments
haha what a real comment.
How’s the banana?
That explanation of how tubes color sound was the best possible analogy. This setup is probably endgame for me (lol) I can't wait to eventually get here
Love to see Hart Audio getting that shoutout. Best aftermarket cable company in my humble opinion.
I’ve emailed them with questions about what to buy and they (I think it’s just a couple) were really just helpful without trying to oversell anything. Just very wholesome small crew that doesn’t use their size as an excuse to sell overpriced product. Love that kind of business!
Except their cables fall apart after the warranty period (of a mere 6 months). Still, the prices are good so not too expensive to replace their cables after they break from normal use.
I’ve been using Hart Audio Cables for years. Quality stuff. Nothing has fallen apart on me. I have them for 6XX, LCD-X, and 109 Pro.

Mine are going on for 2 years now, and I abuse them pretty bad.
Yes, this is what I have been waiting for. For me the Arya Organic fit me right out of the box. It's just that shimmery sparkles that makes me keep coming back to them. Love your work, Man.
Love these videos, even if I can't fully understand them as someone new to the Hifi world. I loved your intro to DAC/AMPS video, and I hope you do more of those, including mid- and high-range options, but I would also love a whole video or even a series where you take us from the very beginning, explaining what everything means from the headphones, cables, speakers, etc and explaining how it all comes together and what would you need to plan for if you were building your own setup. Keep up the great work!!
I seriously appreciate your insight on Hifi audio. It's unique and more in tune with my line of thinking, and you just put your thoughts very well without all the audiophile jargon.
I love the channel man. I just got Arya Organics a few weeks ago and haven't been able to find any EQ that added any bass that I liked that didn't sound muddy. Your recommended EQ is what I was looking for! Thanks so much!
Thanks man! Great pickup - hope you enjoy them!
Damn. I need that Woo Audio amp. Sick video brother! Thanks for sharing your setup with us.
Just grabbed the red mini XLR for my setup. These cables look beautiful. Thanks man! Always great stuff coming from this channel!
Man some of the shots in this video are gorgeous like the close up of the focal lineup. Appreciate this video, I've been staring at the WA7 for years, I'll get one someday.
Been using the Organic for about 10 months now and I fully agree with everything you mentioned about them. I too run them in balanced on my iFi Zen Dac V2 with some EQ and I really really enjoy listening to everything on them.
Gawd I luv your videos. Very slick B-rolls. Thanks for the review of both the headphone and tube DAC/amp. Both look beautiful. I appreciate that you showed us some of the EQ settings. Looking forward to your video about your experiences at the trade shows/enthusiast gatherings. Woof! 😊
When this man said, "No hotdog down a hallway..." I laughed sooooo hard!! LOL
As amazing as always mate! For me my setup as of now is the 490 pros and the rcPro2.
Just got my first set of budget IEMs and a decent cable for them because you and optimum tech got me interested. These and my tidal sub are the best money spent in a while lol
Loved this video! Your beginner intro to sound video is what inspired me to dip my toe into audio, and while my setup is very beginner, I absolutely love it- so THANK YOU! (Sundaras open + iFi zen air can amp + m-audio 192/6 + shure mv7)
Listening to this video on my Organics. Love those headphones, they are truly endgame at a *reasonable* price. They're also very easily driven.
man people think that custom keyboards are an expensive hobby, high end audio products seem in a different league. Glad there are great options at more accessible price points for each
music give you pleasure, keyboard is just a keyboard...
I almost pulled the trigger on an Arya Organic until I saw the HE1000 Stealth for $100 more, and you get an arguably better headphone and an extra year of warranty, and also includes a 4pin XLR cable. Hart audio makes some dope cables though, love those guys. Cheap and I love the interconnect system they have. Run mine off a Burson Conductor 3XP. Enjoy the setup, boss! Ended up w/ an Arya Stealth as a laptop headphone, love em.
Welcome to the Hifiman Egg family
Hifiman is so good for the money...love them.
Thanks for posting this video
I have the arya stealth and a schiit mjolnir 2 tube amp. Tube amp plus arya is an amazing combo. Congrats on the upgrade.
+1 on Hart. I love my Hart cable. Their custom process is a great experience.
It's always a good day when badseed drops a audiophile video
Love my Hart Audio cable. Prefer the black colour way as well.
I’ve owned the Organic for about a month and it’s absolutely endgame. I’m coming from the DT 1990 Pro, HD6XX, IE600, AFUL P5, and Organic just destroys it all. If I was starting today I’d skip everything and save up for the organic.
I use a Hiby R2R dac along with schiit Asgard amp/Lokius EQ stack. EQ is just so much fun and I hope people are using it. The Organic with this setup has my gas syndrome under control. Feels good to be done with the search 🎉
Nice vid mate
This is fancy
It’s always cool to look at all the hifi stuff I sold most my stuff just too expensive of a hobby just settled with my Midgard and modius e dac my Hifiman edition xs Sennheiser hd 660s calling it a day lol good review tho bro 👍
Wake up babe, new banger dropped
In regards to a cheaper setup like this: I just paired my HD 490 Pros with a full Schiit stack: the new Vali 3, Modi+ and a Loki+ Mini and I'm really enjoying having a physical EQ I can mess with on a song by song basis. Sounds fantastic. Also waiting for my Heart Cable to ship as well!
I like the new intro. Looks super minimal. Good choice.
Thanks man! Just whipped it up quick since we''re in the 60fps timeline now
Are you reviewing the Sennheiser HD 490 Pro soon? I want to hear your full opinion about it after your last tease.
This is a nice setup I like the Arya organic imo it’s the best thing hifiman makes and was really the only headphone from them that I enjoyed and I’ve listened to the susavara. For my personal setup I went with a Topping dx9 paired with the focal clear MG. Has enough power to listen to just about anything, very versatile with what you can use with it and still great for something like gaming although I didn’t buy it for gaming.
I can't wait to have Arya Organic's down the line, but in the meantime the Ananda Stealth has been amazing for me on FPS games. Very accurate sound imaging.
Own a WA7 Fireflies and am burning in a pair of Mullard NOS 12AU7 and I will say I think the stock tubes in the WA7 do a great job and don't need to be rolled or replaced, but given that is part of the fun with tubes, I do think the Mullard tubes ad a richness and some more of than tube-like sound.
Hifiman makes excellent stuff. Love my Topping DX3 Pro+ and Sundara combo, although you'll have to bonk me over the head to spend $2800 XD
interesed in that E3 vid, personally loving mine for gaming but its a bit too neutral for my music enjoyment tastes, they do need a bit of power but some gear runs them surprisingly well for the on paper specs lol
Hi! I tested a TON of headphones and also landed on the Arya Organics, they sound incredible! I do still have a cheaper dac/amp, toppings DX3 pro. Wondering how big of an improvement upgrading the dac amp made?
I picked a barely used Hifiman Ananda recently for an insane price and was blown away by the comfort and sound but also blown away by how crappy the stock cable was LOL. I ended up grabbing a cheap 4.4mm balanced cable and calling it a day.
Would love for you to review the Woo WA6 amp with the phantom dac as well
See I’ve went down the rabbit hole with headphones. Then I found the Focal Elex. Now I’m in an even worse situation because I’ve found car audio and it’s got me by the balls 😂😂😂
I got a wake up check when I got a Sonos arc and sub, the speaker setup for $2000 with rears absolutely crushed any headphones I've heard. Obviously not everyone has the space for that, but I'd sooner spend on a $2000+ speaker setup before I get a $2000 headphone setup.
I use a mod house t60rp argon. Liquid Plat/J2 driving.
Hoping for an in-depth review of the DCA E3 with the WA7. Mine is supposed to arrive today, and I'm surprised about what you said about the WA7 as that is the tube amp I was looking to add to my desk next. Meanwhile, my Topping A50/D50 III stack should be here next week.
I use the WA7 Gen3 with the Apos Ray Tubes and a pair of Focal Clear MG headphones as my current desktop listening station. I recently got a Ferrum OOR and Hypsos stack to go off of the balanced pre-out and the clarity and power that I'm getting is phenomenal. I'd say the Apos Ray tubes helped push the WA7 more with soundstage and I heard more clarity and seperation in instrumentation over the stock tubes if that makes sense. I think from here my next upgrade would be summit tier headphones with maybe a second-hand pair of Susvara's or ZMF Caldera's since I wouldn't want to pay full price for either of them 🥲
8:05 im glad someone big has said this. When i heard it at canjam nyc, it sounded kind of rolled off almost in the upper treble, making it sound almost cheap in a way. Plus the mids were actually somewhat peaky, in a way that I wouldn't otherwise mind at a lower price, but for 2000, I was expecting a bit more.
It feels like audiophiles dont mind inaccuracy, so long as their gear sounds boring at the end of the day.
You need to share some of your EQ setups for some of your headphones. I would be interested as we have similar taste
Yo Brian sick video!!!
I actualy own the wa7 3rd gen and been eyeing the arya organic to pair it with.
I would love to know if that combination would suit pop / r&b like the weekend etc in terms of vocals & bass.
one lil note - I dont plan on
EQing them.
And last thing, how is the power coming from the wa7?
I paired formerly a Diana V2 and it lacked tons of power, the wa7 wasnt good enough so wonder how it'd be :)
Thanks in advance!
Another great review, Brian - the combination looks fantastic and I'm sure they sound just as good, but how do you EQ this combination? You say it's key to enjoying them, but I don't see anything in the WA7. Are you using software in the PC? Woo says the WA7 can run without drivers, so that must mean there's no ASIO involved. Genuinely curious how you did it. Cheers!
Equalizer APO with Peace GUI
Hello Mr Tech. I would be interested to see a video where you go back to some of the early audio hype products HE4xx, 6xx, THX 789, Schiit Magni/Modi stack, etc and see how they stack up in todays market
Hi Brian I ordered the meze 109 pro headphones for gaming audio for the ps5 do you think they will sound good for that thank you stay safe and happy gaming
What would you recommend to replace the schiit stack?. I bought it a few years back from your recommendation. It has not aged well volume knob developed noise after the first few months.
Can you try the new gateron jade switches on the wooting
interesting - i've seen you wearing the organics in previous videos, had no idea it was your end game set. it's actually my favorite headphone as well. unironically, i also have the woo wa7 that i love dearly, but sometimes, i switch to my topping a70pro / d70sabre stack from topping. that complete set runs $1300 + $1300 + $1300 + cables. one thing i miss on the wa7 that the topping stack has is optical in. love the review. love your choices. and yes, the organics respond to eq very well, driving them is a joke with the topping stack. the wa7 is more suited for relaxed music listening. i game on topping. at times, when i don't want the over the ear experience, i switch from the organic to thieaudio monarch mk3 iems. bass, detail, imaging, soundstage, smack your face sound, with the comfort of in ear monitors anyone? thieaudio: yes. btw, the momarch mk3 added another $1000 to my already ridiculously expensive audio collection. and that's not counting the rest of the headphones (focal, sennheiser, audeze) iems (30+ now), or dac / amps (too many to list, some of which i'll be ebaying off). again, great video, love your content and delivery. envy your beard. it's a monolith of trimmed perfection. where do i get one?
Oh brother, we clearly have the same tastes. If I really want to listen to IEMs, I break out the Monach MK2. Appreciate the kind words man.
Please make more videos about audio!
@badseedtech I was wondering if you are still rocking the LCD X or you switched?
a g80sd review would feed families
Could you review the Yamaha ZG01? It's a gaming DAC/Mixer cheers!
Hart Audio cables custom cables ship pretty quickly. The last custom ones I ordered through them shipped within a week.
Thanks! That's great to know actually.
What happened to HD 490 Pro review?
My future audio setup was the arya organic with xduoo Ta-22. What's your opinion on that?
Did you try some distortion measurements with that pairing? Arya organics are fairly low impedance (16 Ohms), so unless the WA7 has near zero output impedance I would expect a decent amount of distortion from these planars on that tube amp. Unless of course the WA7 is a tube hybrid, using the tubes only as a pre-amp, in which case the inclusion of a solid state following the tube pre skirts this issue...
I'll take a DAC with swappable OpAmps over tube amps anyday of the week.
i can only dream, i have a hifiman ananda and fiio k7
I'm going to upgrade my audio setup, but I don't know what to buy for my case. I play only single player games and immersion is very important and I don't know which headphones ( no headsets, I have a separate mic ) to buy. For Dac/Amp I'm looking for the K11 or Topping dx3 pro+
I know this isn't relevant to this video, but I would love to see your thoughts and opinions on the new Moondrop Dusk, especially in a gaming capacity.
What would be endgame for Gaming and video watching?
Are you reviewing the new HD 490 ?
I have the iFi Pro iCan and HE100SE's so a very similar sound... Love the setup and sound!
Would love to know what you would go for if Gaming was your primary.
"I dont like the way they look to be honest" as I heat up my 0.30 cents ramen
I wanted to check your channel to pick a super entry level headphone for my sister that isn't complete a** and saw this vid on in the playlist lmao, actually "first" for once maybe? love your stuff man, keep if up
Haha you got here SUPER early - this video isn't even out yet.
Koss kph40 with yaxi pads. doesn't get much more entry level than that.
Personally, I like tubes better than solid state. It wasn't until Mass Kobo came along that I liked Solid state.
metallic timbre of planar drivers??? only Hifiman perhaps but not Verum or Audeze
The 800S is only a 300 ohm headphone. With its high sensitivity as easy to drive as an HD 600 at least on paper.
The organic is a giant slayer. Takes you 90% of the way to a susvara for a fraction of the cost.
Official first!
how the fuck am i 18 hours late
what was the less expensive cable?
Hart Audio
I'm fairly sure the wood veneer has no effect on the timbre and is just there for aesthetic
I just got edition xs, I think I'm good for awhile lol please don't make me want to buy more headphones 😂
I absolutely love your channel. BUT, spending $2,800 on a setup that requires heavy EQ is just a head scratcher to me. Cheers nonetheless.
Totally understandable comment! Here's the best way I can explain it. Comfort aside, talking purely sound, these have a level of detail that I really only get out of a few headphones in my collection and a staging that feels really large but still natural.
With EQ, I am able to bring these to my version of absolute perfect listening - meaning I'm not tolerating anything I don't like to get something that I do. These specific headphones respond really well to EQ. But take something like the HD 800S. I can EQ that headphone all day and the low end isn't going to come to life in the way that I enjoy.
So these have much more detail and a better stage than say my $500 DT 1990, more comfort than almost all of my headphones at any price point, and respond better to EQ (for me) than similarly priced headphones using different driver tech.
Still waiting for HD490 pro full review :s
"Endgame for the foreseeable future" That's not an endgame my dude
haha true true, but I mean....at least 2-3 years, bare minimum. I've sampled gear at much higher levels and I know the next logical level-up for me comes with a cost of approx $7400 and that's just not something I can prioritize.
@@badseedtech Yeah I get that, it makes more sense to spend a fraction every few years on an upgrade than get the ToTL today and have to also upgrade that eventually in the future (even though you may hang onto it for longer)
try electrostatic headphones for gaming since you already do premium $$$ Stuff you should make a conclusion for them too
I wish I could buy the cables in europe, but for me the prices with customs + delivery would more than double that price of the actual cable. Such a shame.
Ill stick to my shit hel 2 and My 58X
I'M BROKE
This is a flex video. 😭
Hd490 video when?
i thought planars dont play nice with tube amps?
Certain tube amps don't - OTL usually, but that's getting into amp design and topography. THIS particular tube amp handles them great.
Way too much hype for the organic, they do not sound organic unless organic actually means bright AF. When I demoed them I knew within seconds that my test tracks had been boosted beyond, but if you have hearing damage and can't hear above 8K it is probably good for you. I also own the Wa7 amp, I doubt they would be able to tame that treble, but that amp can make almost anything sound better.
a fancy headphone setup would be nice, but they're the first to go when I rage at some videogame.
Same they are ridiculous
Brian, why do you do this to me?
Brian let's play cod
IMHO, those are some serious generalizations about tubes and vinyl. The best of both are incredibly transparent, clear, and realistic sounding in a knock you socks off kind of way.
Im not broke, but 2800 is questionable
I love the organic, but if you want 90% of what they can do, I'd recommend the Sundara. The organic sounds very crisp at the beginning but after burn in, they roll of a little and sound closer to a sundara, maybe with a little less air surprisingly. Mids are neutral and bass is slightly more rolled in the sub lows, but with equivalent dynamic feel. You will also be happy you saved so much money.
