I can't stop replaying from 7:55 when he jumps from the fire escape to swinging from the side of the building to that insanely contorted pose in front of the spotlight from the helicopter. It really disappoints me how people trash the TASM movies, especially TASM 2 without acknowledging how visually superior they were to both other versions. They had the best visuals and action by a huge long shot.
In terms of action, yes, those films were absolutely flawless. (They’re shitty movies though) The only action scene in the MCU Spider-Man movies that comes close to anything in the TASM films is the final battle in Far From Home.

I love how differently Peter swings with the black suit on compared to how he normally swings. Normal Peter swings with more of a graceful form and is higher up in the air, whereas with the black suit his form is more aggressive, he swings lower, and he does more tricks, as if the power gets to him and makes him want to show off.

When I was a kid and I watched Spider-Man, I never really appreciated the depth of his character. I only liked his powers and his costume. But now that I’ve grown up, I now truly see the depth of his character and how awesome if a superhero he is (I always thought he was awesome) because of how different he is to other superheroes. He’s a kid who gained spider abilities and uses those powers to defend the good and defeat evil. Other superheroes are fully grown adults. That’s what I find so awesome about Spider-Man. He never gives up and always defends the innocent.
I love how each character swinging differently symbolizes their personality. Tobey’s swings are more slow paced, less stylish, and more slow and practical, showing how he was written to be in his trilogy. Andrew Garfield’s swings are more stylish, they have more flair to them, and he swings with more tricks and cool maneuvers, showing his character as a cool science nerd that isn’t a total loser like Tobey’s Peter. Tom’s swings are more fast paced, energetic, and use much more quick movement, showing his energy and optimism to aspire to his heroes. I am probably over analyzing but I just find it neat.
One of the most awe-inspiring things that the original trilogy did that no other iteration of Spider-Man has ever put on screen would be excellent sound design, from the music, the impactful focus on moments of glory, to the almost horror-esque level of detail whenever something goes drastically wrong.
After No Way Home, I love seeing how they incorporated some of their signature swing styles into the film. Andrew and his pull and release is so dope, Tobey's practical, straightforward finesse, and Tom's balanced, techy gliding supported swings are so fun to watch.

I feel like a lot of effort went into making Spider-Man really act like a spider, climbing up his own webs, crawling around with mannerisms similar to a spider.
Also missing the final swings from the first 2 Spider-man movies, the swings in the montage from the first movie, the second swing fail from the the second movie and the swing in his vigilante costume from the Amazing Spider-man. Oh and a couple form the Homecoming trailers as well as him swinging into the line up in Civil War.

The original trilogy portrays Spider-Man as a larger than life hero people are in awe of, in a more cheesy and unrealistic world than the others. As a result, his swinging lacks realism, as he swings on nothing majestically, like a God, and the physics of his swinging are often quite unrealistic. The Amazing series is grounded in a world of technology and science. This is why Peter makes his own web-shooters, his father was a scientist, and Oscorp, a company that deals with advanced science, is at the heart of the action going on. The swinging is very realistic as a result - The physics at least appear to be on point, and ripples can even be seen at the right time in his suit, as he swings. Spider-Man is also seen as a larger than life hero people are in awe of, when the sequel comes around, and he swings majestically, with elegance and grace, perfecting his swinging at this point. The MCU displays Peter as an inexperienced but powerful hero, shown by the video Tony watches with him in Civil War. As a result, his swinging appears quite forceful, you can see the momentum he uses to move himself deriving from his immense strength. Sometimes, his swinging is jerky due to this strength, not majestic like in the previous series'. He can also be quite clumsy, as shown in Homecoming, due to not truly honing his strength yet. Like the Amazing series, the corner of the MCU that Spider-Man is in is also grounded in science, due to him being a scientist and his connection to the tech genius, Tony Stark. His swinging is also very realistic as a result. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has my favourite swinging sequences - I love the combination of realism and majesty, plus the Spider-Man suit is both very comic accurate and gorgeous to look at. The POV shots are inspired and make you feel like you're with Spider-Man as he's swinging too, more than anything else that's been done. For the MCU Peter, I'm hoping that when he's learnt to truly hone his skills, he'll swing with the same realism and majesty the Amazing one did.

This is something I don't like by the way, I prefer the interpretation shown in the comics and the MCU, where he creates everything using his own knowledge. I understand it though, the Amazing series had no other superheroes in them, so Peter creating such an advanced substance in a world grounded in technology and science would seem too far-fetched. The comics and the MCU are populated with many superheroes and crazy, out-there science, so Peter creating his own webbing doesn't seem unrealistic.

Strike Phoenix The Amazing series was aiming for a grounded tone similar to Nolan's Batman series. There's no signs of the camp and cheesiness of the Raimi series in the first one at least, and none of the trademark MCU style humour displayed a lot in Homecoming, this is a darker world where people connected to Peter are in danger, powerful business institutions are corrupt, and the more unpleasant emotions of people, such as anger and hatred are on full display and the ramifications of such emotions are felt. The Raimi series had a lot of this too, but as said before, it had a more campy, cheesy approach, and realism mattered less as a result. Galaxin rax, plenty of windows, hit one with a thread - fall. If you ever was on some high rooftop - the wind is really strong at such height, the web would be blown off often. It makes it even harder to stick it to the buildings, maybe only on short distance. Streets are quite wide so you have to swing far from one wall to another to avoid collision, Aiming impossible, webshooting unpredictable, death inevitable.

For me I would say Andrew Garfield is the best spider-man. He embodies that fun,quippy,genius that I think of when I think Spider-man. He was also flawed and became flashy in front of his schoolmates like any person would, unlike Tobey Maguire's Spider-man who was all righteous.(Spider-man in the original comics was tryna decide for a minute whether to save Flash or whether to let him die at the hands of a villain so clearly he had flaws). When I was a kid and I watched Spider-Man, I never really appreciated the depth of his character. I only liked his powers and his costume. But now that I’ve grown up, I now truly see the depth of his character and how awesome if a superhero he is (I always thought he was awesome) because of how different he is to other superheroes. He’s a kid who gained spider abilities and uses those powers to defend the good and defeat evil. Other superheroes are fully grown adults. That’s what I find so awesome about Spider-Man. He never gives up and always defends the innocent.

I love how each character swinging differently symbolizes their personality. Tobey’s swings are more slow paced, less stylish, and more slow and practical, showing how he was written to be in his trilogy. Andrew Garfield’s swings are more stylish, they have more flair to them, and he swings with more tricks and cool maneuvers, showing his character as a cool science nerd that isn’t a total loser like Tobey’s Peter. Tom’s swings are more fast paced, energetic, and use much more quick movement, showing his energy and optimism to aspire to his heroes. I am probably over analyzing but I just find it neat.

my only problem with the original swinging is how hes always above rhe buildings n it looks like hes just gracefully swinging onto air. Marc Webbs swinging looks more realistic and flashy, how I'd picture a spiderman would swing. I love both tobey and Andrew but if i were to pick who i liked more as spidey, id go with Garfield.

I like the story and plot of Tobey's spiderman. I also love the action, music, suit, web swinging of TASM 1&2. It's pure badass, it's unbeatable.
The way the swinging sequences in each series are done seems to tie into the series' vision. The original trilogy portrays Spider-Man as a larger than life hero people are in awe of, in a more cheesy and unrealistic world than the others. As a result, his swinging lacks realism, as he swings on nothing majestically, like a God, and the physics of his swinging are often quite unrealistic. The Amazing series is grounded in a world of technology and science. This is why Peter makes his own web-shooters, his father was a scientist, and Oscorp, a company that deals with advanced science, is at the heart of the action going on. The swinging is very realistic as a result - The physics at least appear to be on point, and ripples can even be seen at the right time in his suit, as he swings. Spider-Man is also seen as a larger than life hero people are in awe of, when the sequel comes around, and he swings majestically, with elegance and grace, perfecting his swinging at this point. The MCU displays Peter as an inexperienced but powerful hero, shown by the video Tony watches with him in Civil War. As a result, his swinging appears quite forceful, you can see the momentum he uses to move himself deriving from his immense strength. Sometimes, his swinging is jerky due to this strength, not majestic like in the previous series'. He can also be quite clumsy, as shown in Homecoming, due to not truly honing his strength yet. Like the Amazing series, the corner of the MCU that Spider-Man is in is also grounded in science, due to him being a scientist and his connection to the tech genius, Tony Stark. His swinging is also very realistic as a result.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has my favourite swinging sequences - I love the combination of realism and majesty, plus the Spider-Man suit is both very comic accurate and gorgeous to look at. The POV shots are inspired and make you feel like you're with Spider-Man as he's swinging too, more than anything else that's been done. For the MCU Peter, I'm hoping that when he's learnt to truly hone his skills, he'll swing with the same realism and majesty the Amazing one did.

This is something I don't like by the way, I prefer the interpretation shown in the comics and the MCU, where he creates everything using his own knowledge. I understand it though, the Amazing series had no other superheroes in them, so Peter creating such an advanced substance in a world grounded in technology and science would seem too far-fetched. The comics and the MCU are populated with many superheroes and crazy, out-there science, so Peter creating his own webbing doesn't seem unrealistic.

The Amazing series was aiming for a grounded tone similar to Nolan's Batman series. There's no signs of the camp and cheesiness of the Raimi series in the first one at least, and none of the trademark MCU style humour displayed a lot in Homecoming, this is a darker world where people connected to Peter are in danger, powerful business institutions are corrupt, and the more unpleasant emotions of people, such as anger and hatred are on full display and the ramifications of such emotions are felt. The Raimi series had a lot of this too, but as said before, it had a more campy, cheesy approach, and realism mattered less as a result.

Galaxin rax, plenty of windows, hit one with a thread - fall. If you ever was on some high rooftop - the wind is really strong at such height, the web would be blown off often. It makes it even harder to stick it to the buildings, maybe only on short distance. Streets are quite wide so you have to swing far from one wall to another to avoid collision, Aiming impossible, webshooting unpredictable, death inevitable.

He was also flawed and became flashy in front of his schoolmates like any person would, unlike Tobey Maguire's Spider-man who was all righteous.(Spider-man in the original comics was tryna decide for a minute whether to save Flash or whether to let him die at the hands of a villain so clearly he had flaws). Also he had the best suit, the best web-swinging and also had a GREAT love story in his movies. the amazing spider-man really did it best with the web swinging scenes. just nailed all the action and how his momentum actually heavily influenced his movements and trajectory! especially in the second movie. Where it includes a lot of free-fall and sky diving elements.
