I bought the large (3 oz) tubes of epoxy from Harbor Freight several years ago and am still using it. Haven't had any problems with it. My go-to finish is DEFT spray lacquer (I buy it at my local Home Depot). I use this for all my projects that I don't turn on the lathe (for my lathe-made bowls I use wipe-on Poly and for pens I use Hut Crystal Coat. This is more info than you asked for, but it may help you or others.
Actually, I don't know. After drilling the holes and test fitting the top, I make a small chamfer and retest. I repeat this until the top of the box will open fully and stay vertical. It's trial and error.
Great video! Can I ask why you don’t epoxy the hinge to the box and lid at the same time? Seems like you’d only need 1 wait session instead of two...or am I completely missing something (which seems more likely lol)? Thanks brother! :)
It's so I can make sure that the hinges on a particular side are lined up exactly as I need them. Before the epoxy is rock hard, I can test the action and micro adjust if necessary.
Thank you very much… I have not been able to find another TH-cam video that showed how to install those small barrel hinges
Very nice. You are very precise for what "seems" to be a simple project. Yea, right.....enjoyed watching.
Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed my video.
Nicely done
Excellent ! Thanks
