Everyone talks about George but for just a moment, I want to speak about Stephen Fanuka. LOVE his attitude and how he is always willing to just jump in and get things going. He has a great personality and I enjoy seeing him on these episodes.
I'm impressed with Katie the designer. She pitched right in with packing boxes, painting, and did a lovely job of decorating. I've seen some of George's designers too full of themselves to help, who wants them around? Not me.
I was surprised to see that they were born in March.. Meaning the build took place in late February most likely...seems like there would still have been some snow and more people wearing coats in late February or the first week of March in NY....
Love love this show and the transfermations. I wonder though what happened to ALL that boxes and boxes of extra stuff. Do they make a storage room for the extras.
Impressive that was a Huge job. Sweet family Pretty Cottage . Will last until ? Four children Two bedrooms. 6 people . Not allowed to use basement as bedrooms!
A wonderful feel-good video! I love the generous project you are doing. I love the team work as shown. I love the smiling faces. I love the quality. You've really made y day in the middle of the pandemic! Thanks to you all, gorgeous people.
Applauds and smiles because this crew had plenty work to do. 👏😀 This family was blessed to get the additions. When you see her belly, you just want to see the new born babies. 😀
Great blessing for this family so multiplied! Nice addition, showing the babies came, and evidently were during relatively well. Hope the family is thriving. That is what physical human life is all about (below the spiritual) - _FAMILY._ 🌿🏵 🦋 🌺🌱
What a shock to that boy's system to go from being the only child to suddenly having three sisters. This is an example of why the obsession with the nuclear family and cutting ourselves off from relatives under the same roof or on the same street makes no sense. Hope the whole gang is doing well and has lots of support.
I LOVE flat doors! Much better than a decorative door that is hard to clean. 60 years ago, 1950's, my family home had all inside doors, hollow and flat. So easy to keep clean. Mom lived there until 2004. I am in an apartment with fancy doors, horrible. Painted each time a tenant moved out. Ugh.
WOW! That is amazing transformation of the basement and the old office! Congratulations on the new addition of three little girls to your family!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great job, I'm sure this relieved a huge amount of stress from the parents and let them concentrate on the arrival of the girls instead, which by the way are beautiful.
i think you're being really harsh. they might be looking at it from an algorithm perspective - if the video is upsetting in some way for them (ie imagine having lost a baby, or had one kept in hospital) and they don't want to see more of this, then that is a way that they can manage that.
God Bless each and every one of you for all you do. Thank you for seeking skills that fit you all best and then making the World a better place everywhere you all are. Huge hugs to each of you.
They got the same washer and dryer we got in my family’s house so I’m guessing this is circa 2008. My mother cried when they were installed we had just built a new house moved out of a tiny town house with the smallest washer and dryer and my mother was over the moon to have real appliances.
Good work...i love your generosity and your open heart to those families...love the idea and teamwork...you are very good man it reflects in the face of the family🌺
Thank’s so much for sharing your story. What a nice makeover! Almost like building another house. Congratulations on the new family quarters. The girls are beautiful!
I grew up with one bathroom. My mom grew up with one bathroom and 8 people. I don’t see how people do it even though I did. 😜 So glad they got another bathroom.
I grew up with one bathroom as well. It’s very common in Europe. I never forget my Canadian friend being so surprised I had to share a bathroom with my entire family 🤣
We raised a total of 8 boys with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.... lol Testosterone dripped from my walls... :D Pretty sure I'm suffering drain bamage... that's brain damage that doctors don't recognize because it comes from being the only female in a house full of males...
@@polishboy5 I absolutely agree. He took my breath away when he said with 4 children and two adults they would NEED a few more bathrooms. I hope he planned on doing his share of keeping them clean. A separate loo is useful and is standard in many UK houses, but beyond that I don't remember any major problems with 3 children and us. But I have an American friend living here in Wales; she has always been very comfortably off and has never in her whole life had to share a bathroom with anyone.
I was thinking the same thing. Cribs up against sliding doors with curtains, definitely NOT a good idea, and depending where they live, lots of cold coming through
Wow, that is a completely totally new and transformed basement, and YES George, it had come a LONG way! Great job from everyone on this big project, in such a short amount of time... That Steve Fanuka, what a character, he is so entertaining!! Seems like an all round nice man, as well as being a bit of a comedian...! Women are always saying in comments of the ones he's in that he's hot!! Lol, well he aint bad but a little older for me so he's maybe someone I would love to be friends with, and definitely seems a pleasure to work with someone like that, for sure. Although there have been some worse basements to start with in past episodes, I found it really daunting looking at the before basement of this one. They always end up full gut jobs anyway, (if not also being excavated...) So once its all done, it really is amazing. What's also amazing is the vision that they, designer, and builders, had so they could see past all that mess and dinginess of an old cavernous pit beneath the house (creepy is what basements are) to focus on making it how it would become. Anyway, wish we could have seen all the babies !! Wow can you imagine, triplets!!? Well that was in 2011, so the babies would be 8 now... would be fun to see how they have been going, and how the space has worked for them I cant believe this was 8 years ago The quality of filming is really good, probably digital, so this show doesnt seem to date, also as far as up to date design... Well seeing as it has been a while, I do wonder what they would do different if anything, from then to now, (I have that passing thought sometimes when I see how long ago some of these have been filmed and Rescues done...) except that all of the kids will be bigger now, of course, and have different needs from then. It would be fun to see that actually, an update/check in as to how the kids look and family are going, if still there, and an which would include having their spaces updated too, to be suitable for kids at their ages now, and do the boys room now... that would be nice, but by now they've probably already done that as the kids have grown... But I wonder how all three girls would fit in that baby nursery, after the crib stage They really kinda need a bigger house in a couple of years from when that was done Hopefully the renovation added value to the place so they could use the money toward a a new home big enough for all of them. I cant imagine they would stuff them all into the basement as nice as it came out, as another person commented when someone else asked what will they do later whe the babies have grown...
I can't get over putting an office next to a playroom for four children... I realize that that was the only place to put it but that doesn't change that it isn't a practical arrangement...
Steve Fanuka is a 'custom' guy. He doesn't approve anything unless it is perfect. And if he does the work it is perfect. George always puts together a great crew.

Most of those who work on this show are nice pleasant people, just 1 or 2 designers!
Fanuka is awesome whatever show he appears on. I love it when he works with Tyler!
I love Steve Fanuka he’s a real personality.
Steve is the best contractor on the show!
Yup. He is just awesome.
I love how their son says about the basement " ITS not dirty anymore?" Sooooo cute

You can tell her husband is hopelessly in love with her. Love it
I'm glad the baby update was added at the end. She (they) are gorgeous.
This renovation was awesome! I love the idea that the triplets are 8 years old now :)

Also...they doubled the square footage. That must have raised the value so as the kids grow they can afford a home with more bedrooms
I would love to see a followup renovation of the triplet's room to accomodate the growing girls.
Steve Fanuka was on HGTV for a while. He was great.
