I worked in the fabulous city of Montreal for 10 years and often had lunch at Schwartz's Deli.....the best smoked meat EVER ! As for the best bagel.......it's gotta be Fairmount, thanks John :)

This actor chap I know had a theory about why Montreal was so awesome in all the ways seen in the vid:
He said because the rents in Montreal are traditionally lower than in Toronto or Vancouver (or anywhere else really), folks are able to get by with grinding less for money in menial jobs only to make rent, and therefore can spend more time doing awesome things in a great city, which is better for both the person and the city (and the art, in this particular case). Also that Quebecois(e) joie de vivre. Can't stress that last one enough. ;)
It's just a theory but I do like it.

I was in Montreal over the summer, and had bagels from the first bagel place in the video - absolutely incredible. Best bagels I've ever had, hands down!

I'm from Toronto and was in Montreal in May of this year! Unfortunately didn't have enough time to see/go everywhere but good restaurant/cafe recommendation would be appreciate for the next visit! #proudcanadian

As a lifelong resident of the city, the one thing I can say about the city is the food is to die for!
What about Beaubien Bagel? They don't have the reputation or age of the other two, but still awesome. I have travelled to other cities in North America and have yet to taste a Bagel to rival any of these three. St-Viateur, Fairmount and Beaubien are all great. Thanks for a wonderful video. I'm from montreal and yes it's pretty awesome! Lol best smoked meat sandwich by far and i think Fairmount bagels are a bit better than st viateur

There you go, another new yorker saying that crap......they're different...... saying that NYC makes the best bagels is debatable.....what's better? Pringles or Lay's.......Don't get me wrong, I'm from Montreal and go to New York quite often (New York relatives) and I like NYC bagels, they are not better or worst, just different.... ;
