I left Montreal 27 years ago, but I visit often to see my family. Some of the spots you shared made me realize how many great places I’ve been missing out on. Thank you so much for sharing! By the way, you two make a beautiful couple, and your dad is so natural in front of the camera!
I am so glad you went to wilensky. The family there are the most lovely people. All the institutions you visited hold very special places in most montrealers. Many places you visited are connected to us through generations!
I have been to Montreal countless times and you will never see me walking around the streets at that hour. Montreal is the Ibiza of the north. I party , drink, and eat all night and sleep all day 🤣 As for favourite restaurants, they are all in east Montreal.
Love your dad saying "in the next one!" This is an awesome video and I don't know how you guys didn't explode after eating all that in one day! Looks amazing.
Vous parlez très bien Français. Une chance que vous êtes le guide parce qu’un touriste qui n’est jamais venu à Montréal ne sait plus où donner de la tête tellement il y a de restaurants. Bonne route et n’oubliez pas votre français! 😊
Dic Ann's is good but Lafleur (1951) or even dilallo (1929) still remain staples of Montreal. Can't forget about Mr. Steer (1958) and by bringing up Schwartz one can't dismiss other versions that are equally good (and in s few cases much better than Schwartz) such as Dunn's, chenoy's, Reuben's, Jarry, smoked meat pete, Lester's, Snowdon deli, Green Spot just to name a few. As the original first and best has long ago disappeared. RIP Ben's.😢
Hey thanks a lot. We picked Schwartz cause it was a better representation of a Montreal institution but to be honest, my personal favourite is Lester's on Bernard Ave in Outremont.
@@DaveMani I agree with you on that! I used to work downtown and the 2 popular locations were Reuben's and Dunn's. We do have a few awesome options to try, and nothing else compare to the true specialty restaurants. Welcome home Dave! Nice video; totally forgot about Dic Ann's as there are none close to me.
I love townships for the culture, tradition and history like food, community policing and heritage that pass in generation. We lack that in todays modern cities😂
Nice videos. Discovered 2 new restaurants that I will try. Thanks. BTW, there is one place you did not cover which I have been to since the ‘60s and the food has never changed. Mister Steer 1198 Ste-Catherine’s. Go check them out with their famous Curly-Q fries. Miam!
Another place, like it use to be everywhere in Montreal, Décarie Hot- Dogs. I didn’t went there in a long time but they used to have a fryer from the past!!
Le seul qui est valable est Fairmont bagel... Wilensky est le plus ordinaire.... tsé d'la baloune..... mais qu'on en dise du mal ou qu'en dise du bien l'important est qu'on en parle!
It's so unfortunate that most of youtubers only give a montreal fast food review. Smoked meat sandwiches, Poutine, hotdogs, etc. I wish someone could make an honest review of better food that Montreal has to offer.

Started Great! Binerie and Dic Ann's! But Banquies has to stop being brought up, its not good and worth the hype. Find a good belle pro's and it will likely be better. Schwartz 👍 Julep, the poutine is actually better than Banquise but the orange shake is a bit over hyped(They also have Nathan Dogs). The julep is worth the mention because of a few reasons. Pool Room 👍 Once again I would rather have a poutine there over Banq and if you wanna see some drunkin natives fight themselves👍. Wilensky's 👍 for someone visiting(especially the area) but for the price I cant see how someone would be a regurlar. Fairmount 👍 yes the bagel is better. The Orange Julep drink isn't juice. It's 99% sugar.
If it was 99% sugar, it would be so thick you wouldn't be able to drink it through a straw.
