The travel health insurance I use - PassportCard Nomads: www.passportcardnomads.com/?r...
*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don't have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they're especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

Masterful bit of editing, because I did not see one single orange construction cone that literally blanket the city every summer. Good work.
She must be married to the Mafia Mob, LOL.
Those cones are placed there whether there is construction or not, haaaaaaa! xD
Montreal has one of the best food scenes in North America
Absolutely
Top 10 maybe
Very True.
North America ha ha ha ha
That's not that hard. North America is not known for food.
La plus grande ville francophone de l Amérique pas seulement du Canada 🇨🇦. 😊
i just moved to Montreal 2 months ago and im having the best time of my life
❤️❤️❤️
I can't speak French at all.
Can I live in Montreal?
Is that possible?
@@user-kr5wx3po7g oh yes! i dont know any french just basic like bonjour ,bonsoir, merci. there are a lot of anglo here so as long as you know English youre good
Sure?! I love Montreal I Wish go there soon 😌
The best place when it comes to night life even in winter. Very cool city. You never get bored.
Very true.
Absolutely..
OMG, yes, St. Viateur is the bomb! You can even order them online, and have them shipped to your doorstep. The food in Montreal is incredible.
Your videos always have great and happy vibes Alina 🤩💪
Thank you so much!
Great video! We live in Ottawa Canada, so Montreal is quite close to visit, and we love both Montreal and Quebec City for their European charm, the fabulous food and the history! If you can learn a few phrases in French, it’s even better. Lots to see and do, and always fun. Highly recommend them both! Thanks for taking us along with you.
I noticed the can of City Seltzer. From Ottawa
How much French do they speak in Montreal, is it necessary to know French if I go there
@@ajmendizabal6992 Most people speak English so you can get by without French, but they will very much appreciate you making an effort with a few phrases or words in French!
Ottawa is quite boring compared to Montreal
Love Ottawa.
Speaking as someone who has lived in the city and goes back frequently to visit, I would stay away from the touristy sites if you want to get the best experience. My favourite places are Marche Jean Talon (Ryad for Turkish Pastries), Boulangerie Le Pain dans le Voiles, Boulangerie Hof Kelsten, Boulangerie Kouign Amann, Patati Patata, Cafe Saigon, Square St. Louis. (Clearly I visit to eat lol). I'm always content to just grab a Bixi and see the city by bike since it's very cyclable and the green space is so beautiful.
Hi Alina! Stumbled across your videos when I was planning my travels to Colombia and so cool to see you visiting my hometown! Glad you enjoyed your experience here!
I’ve been to Montreal 3 times and is one of my favorite cities and very special to me. Cool video. Mercí beaucoup❤
Love Montreal. My favourite city in Canada from what I have explored. The French influence permeates in a great way - especially the art, food and music. The Botanic Gardens there are fantastic - its big with great vistas very cleverly landscaped together to provide beautiful expose of many different horticultural themes across the world - Japanese - Chinese - First Nations a few of them. They have some special exhibitions in the summertime so I would check that out. Then the green space is spectacular in many places and getting around via the Metro a breeze. Great place - will definitely be back. That Van Gogh immersion show looks great and I would definitely explore things like this which are pretty regular events in this artsy city. Thank You for the stimulating reminder of this wonderful city.
My pleasure!
What a charming and beautiful city! Thank you for taking us with you visiting two wonferful cities in the Quebec province! 🇨🇦🤩
the only criticism is that our music has nothing to do with the music of France :)😊, we speak French but it's 2 different worlds
Well done Alina. Thank you for highlighting my beautiful city. Hope to see you come again for another visit and make another vlog 😊
We went to Montreal last winter and we really enjoyed seeing Notre Dame and going on the big Ferris wheel. It was wonderful.
You released the video on perfect time! I'm planning on going to Montreal during this weekend!
Btw, recently started following you after I stumbled on your Saskatchewan videos and your content is awesome! Keep up the good work 🙌
Thank you so much! Hope you have a wonderful time!
I have been to Montreal many times and the food and restaurants are fantastic. Even the small cheaper places serve great dishes and it’s really international cuisine. Summer in Montreal in the plateau is great.
Which small cheaper restaurants would you recommend? The other day we paid $70 for 3 small pizzas.
@@brighteyes6559Patati Patata, Ma poule mouillée, Rôtisserie Coco Rico... Just to name a few spots on The Plateau...
Hi Alina! Thanks for taking me back to my birthplace and hometown, Montréal! I don't get home often enough, so it's a nice treat to visit very familiar places from afar. You need to spend more time here, Alina. Highpoints during the summer include the 'Festival International de Jazz'; 'Just For Laughs (the Montréal Comedy Festival); and the Montréal Grand Prix F1 auto race. There's always so much to do and see here!
My pleasure! Will definitely be going back sometime
Thanks for taking us along. I wouldn't have visited Montreal, but now I'm interested
Sadly only been to Vancouver so far. What a relaxing and enjoyable video this was Alina! Montreal is definitely a city to add to the list. Thank you for bringing this video to us. BTW your music accompaniment to this video was excellent.
Thank you very much!
@@AlinaMcleod You are most welcome!
Had to laugh at your "help me!" smile climbing the Mt Royal stairs! I lived in Montreal for 20 yearsand ony did that hike the once.
Now this is one of the only cities I’ve been to that you go to. This video makes me very reminiscent of my trip there! I was there in winter so got to see all the snow scenes from the top of Mont Royal. The smoked meat sandwich’s at Schwartz’s is amazing!
Hi, I'm a first time viewer (I think) and this video was great. You did a masterful job taking us along with you so thanks for that.
Do you speak and/or read French?
Love this city....!!! A holiday to Canada has been on my mind since I was a teenager. Canada is definitely the right sort of place to dream about. Sometimes I imagined the amazing sights that Canada has to offer. Fast forward quite a few years, and Canada is still on my radar to visit one day. I've never been to Canada, and never had Poutine😔😔😔. It looked scrumptious...!!! I wish I could have that one of the most quintessential Canadian dishes!
It does have a lost to offer! You absolutely must try poutine sometime :)
loo amazing beautiful Huhh 💞👠👠
Poutine, Quebec's gift of culinary art. *Embarassed* ...and I'm from Montreal.
Love Montreal. It a city where I had my bachelor party 😉 and years later a family vacation....with very different venues of course 😄. Old Montreal had much charm and areas like that are what make city interesting. And I still have not decided if Montreal v NYC....best bagels 🥯.
The French accordion music doesn't fit the vibe of Montreal in my opinion. Its a much cooler and hip city than that.
Fantastic video Alina! I have always been attracted by Quebec and these videos are amazing and particularly interesting Quebec is so beautuful!! Thank you very much for sharing this awesome video
Quebec City is an absolute gem! 🙏
Hi Hi😉😉
wow Alina you may have passed in front of my building! I would have been glad to show you around! Glad you enjoy our city and the Platteau.
Hello Alina McLeod, just watch your video of Montréal City, QC Canada to see your point of view and where you've been going. I was born in Brossard (South shore of Montreal) and lives in Pierrefonds since 2016 (Montreal Island). So I loves to watch people from Canada, USA, Europe, etc... to see what they like or don't. 1st) Yes, bagel St-Viateur is one of the best for bagel, you've done a great pick. 2nd) Schwartz is often full, it is a classic place to go and nice pick with Smoked meat poutine :) 3rd) Great idea to go on the area of Mont-Royal (nice places to go & restaurants) and of course the Old Montreal / Old Port for tourist even for Montrealers. 4th) If you come back in few years, I can, if you want made some restaurants suggestions and places to go to help you better. Also as a bonus comment, I might said to you that your black sunglasses is really great on you and facial expression too. I just saw that you also have a video of Quebec City, QC Canada, so I will see it after and do the same thing (but shorter then this one) :) Enjoy Alina and have a wonderful day.
Good job and fantastic discovery
First time seeing your video keep up the good work and yes Montreal is beautiful
Awesome impressions!
Just superbbbbb 🎆 ND lovely dear you nd your information presantion are tooo much lovely
I will go there, what a nice place. I hope i can relax there all day.
I leave in the winter, did Thailand, Mauritius, Turkey ane Dubai this year and just got back, proud to call this place home.
I live in the mountains 45 min north of Montreal to enjoy the peace and quiet, and head into MTL whenever I feel like getting that vibrant fix of energy. Going down there this weekend because of this video hehe
Hope you have a fabulous time!
Great video!! I really need to get to both Montreal and Quebec City.. I've only ever been to YUL 🙃
Thanks for the card love it 🥰
I'll be in Montreal and quebec in about a week from now, excited already
Hope you have a great trip!
Keep on truckin', Alina!
I enjoyed the Rue de Catherine which is the city’s main shopping drag and you’ll find among other stores, Hudson’s Bay there and just below the street is the famous underground city where people go to escape bad weather, during the summer and the long cold winter. Two things about Montreal deserve mention: you’ll see the stadium where the 1976 Summer Olympics was opened, memorable for Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci receiving the first perfect 10 scores in the history of the sport and the Habitat from the Expo ‘67 designed by the Israeli architect Moshe Safdie. In closing, the best eatery I’ve ever been to near the English medium university McGill, now sadly closed, was the fresh food market Marche Movenpick. Some of the best food, served buffet style, I’ve ever had in my life.
Yes 1976 what a time to be in Montreal. We drove up from Philadelphia and had tickets to the gymnastics. We tried to trade the gym tickets for the track and field, but no one would trade with us. Well, that turned out better than we ever could imagine, as we ended up at The Forum, and witnessed the first perfect 10 score by the great Nadia Comaneci (who I had never heard of). Also, we were huge hockey fans, and I was in awe of The Forum in Montreal, where Atwater meets Saint Catherine as we in Philly would say. Also, the Canadiens, had just beaten my beloved Flyers in the Stanley Cup Final, preventing us from win our 3rd straight Stanley Cup. We had some good-natured fun talking with the Canadiens fans, as they would rub it in. My comeback would be, at least The Flyers beat The Red Army, where the Canadiens only tied them. I fell in love with your great city!
Great Tour.
Wow!
😮
...and all of this time i thought Canaduh was nothing but dog sleds, hockey, snow mobiles, and beer.
Im definitely interested in Montreal now.
...and you look as beautiful as ever, Alina!
Hey Alina! I know you must have been tired at the end of the day, covering all those places in a day!! I know because I have lived there for so long. Also check out the Atwater market and the walk along the Lachine canal nearby. It is connected to the old port. Do this when the starts to set. I am sure you will love it! Enjoy your time in Montreal!
*when the sun starts to set.
I am from and born in Montréal love my city
Still french that give a plus !!
Montreal is now on my list :) thanks Alina.
My pleasure!
great video. terrific music selection
I have been in Montreal for half a year and I am still watching your video for where to go😂
Lol happy to help
As a montréalais, it's funny seeing people experiencing our city for the first time. We take everything for granted and forgot how great it can be here sometimes!
I really like this video & something like this😍thanks for sharing your nice & useful experience 💁🏻♀️
My pleasure 😊
I have recently subscribed to your channel and let me tell you that your videos are amazing and the way you speak is very nice and fathomable even to foreigners whose first language is not English. I'm from India and love watching your videos. Always keep up the good work. God bless you 🙏😊
See you soon in Montreal 😊
Montreal is so amazing! I think only Brooklyn, where i have lived is similar in both diversity and cultural authenticity. I worry that the government in Canada is destroying the country and pray the intelligent people of that beautiful land make it stop!
Are you going to go Saquenay/Chicoutimi? Or further downstream St Lawrence to Sept Iles or Baie Comeau? I always wanted see those places.
So sad seeing the Pharmaprix behind her at the end, a constant reminder of Warshaw's death and hurried replacement. Much of the neighbourhood is like that now, my grandparents would not recognize it.
Very Well done on both Video's of Quebec City and Montreal ...... I'm with you on the Poutine ...I like mine with Just French Fries , Gravy and Cheese Curds .... Then to have a Smoked Meat Sandwich w/ Mutard ...annd swiss cheese in the fall weather ..... Great memories ....thanks so much for sharing your video's
Thank you Alina❤
I have been to Montreal many times, because I have been living in Canada (mostly in Toronto), since 1975. My favourite spot in Montreal is the restaurant Reuben's, at 888 rue St. Catherine. They serve smoked meat. Greetings from Toronto, Alex
The biosphere was part of 1967 Montreal Expo.Did you go to museums? Did you go to Old Montreal? My family and I have driven a motorhome across Canada. We loved Montreal.
Oh yeah! I like bagels. I'll bet Montreal is kind of a Mecca for foodies. I see "Montreal" style seasonings all the time. That poutine with smoked meat looked real good!
I wonder what would happen if you went on a personal quest to meet "The Smoking Man"? He is 85 now and lives in Toronto.
William Davis I think is his name, his character on the X Files is iconic!
😎👍🇺🇸🇨🇦
Best city in North America. I'm jealous.
Great narration, I think you missed your calling, I could see you being a news caster at a major network making millions of dollars, your articulate, well groomed, and great personal charisma, go get them tiger!
Lol I thought about that but it definitely wouldn’t be the right job for me. I prefer to work for myself and have full creative control. Also they have to get up super early and wear a crazy amount of makeup 😅
Live in Vancouver now.
Grew up in Montreal
The only other major city i would live in is Montreal or Barcelona
Go habs Go.
Thank you for making a video about my town!! It makes me so happy when I see my favourite youtubers visit Montreal - I always end up discovering places I didn't even heard of. For anyone looking for the best poutine in town, don't go to la Banquise! Go to Ma Poule Mouillée just across the street and you'll thank me later! ;)
Thank you for the suggestions!
soon
Yo, be careful, there is a tornado warning in your area.
I want to live in your city and work in it. Will you help me?
I want help to get a job and live in it
Hi Alina, I've been to Montreal many times but I haven't seen such a beautiful sight like you there :) Hope to meet you in person some day. Keep making those nice videos.
Excellent choice of city to visit! Montreal is world class, has great food/service, vibrancy, the top jazz fastival in the world and so much more! It's Europe, but in Canada!
It's Canada in Canada
It sure is!
Old Montreal's architecture makes it feel like Europe, but the culture is more North American, on both the English and French-speaking sides.
Next time try the cafe Olive et gourmando in old Montreal, inside the Marché Bonsecours for lot of Canadian products ( jewelry , bags, maple syrup and clothes), and for the poutine La Banquise. Vous êtes charmante comme tout
I stayed in Chinatown Holiday Inn at end of February. Super nice hotel.
If i had all the time in the world the would never be enough Alina to fill the void ❤
Great video of Montreal! I hope you had a nice visit to my hometown. 😀
Amazing video
when u visited Calgary i used to live in Edmonton.. then i moved last march to live in Montreal.. are u following me Girl ?! lol
i wish u came few weeks ago to Montreal there was Formula 1, mural festival and Franco and salsa festivals but dont worry there is jazz festival next week.. and many more ..
i am in downtown everyday i hope i can see u and say Hi .. i love ur videos
*sigh…makes me miss my birthplace! NDG used to be my home. Great video and I agree on your spots…so many places that one video simply cannot capture.
Few other places I recommend: Fairmount bagel, Toqué, La Banquise, Frite alors, and Wilensky’s (iconic)!
Keep up the great work!🙌🏾
Thank you 😊
Ma Poule Mouillée for poutine.. I always hit it up when I'm in town!
Great video, Alina! I live in Toronto, but have visited Montreal a couple times. Montreal is definitely a must-visit city in Canada. Thanks for sharing these wonderful experiences. A quick question: (I'm not sure if it already exists) Are you planning to record a video explaining the pros and cons of traveling the world as a successful independent entrepreneur? God bless you!
beautiful indeed🥰
Nice video!
❤ 🙌🏼 This is my hometown… i live in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal.
Quick question: do you use a tripod to film the stationary shots? Do you film with a camera or your phone? Thanks in advance! 🙏🏼
Nope, no tripod. I use the DJI Osmo Pocket 2, highly recommend.
Nice video! I am from Montreal, and there are so many nice places it is hard to see it all just visiting. I prefer Fairmount Bagels, also in the Plateau over St. Viator, but you can't sit down and eat at Fairmount, too small, you get your bagels and go out. I was a hard core Schwartz's eater but there is another smoked meat old gem of a restaurant called Snowdon Deli. Not as old as Schwartz's, it opened in 1946, but delicious smoked meat with more elbow room, as it is a bigger restaurant.
i watch thisvideo now goingto your other video😘
Weather in Montréal and Québec City differ, as Québec City is situated more north.
In Québec City ( where I live ) we go almost every day from a full sunny sky
to darkness in 10 minutes time. Sun sets happend almost instantly, and the temperature
drops immediatly 4 degrees celcius in summer time or in winter time, no discrimination...
Bonjour Mademoiselle Alina, Montreal, se bon. Been there a couple of times, like it and the area. Parlais Francaise helps!. Real good work, always nice to see these places again with you´re eyes. Regards, Markus
Awesome city! Which place you recommend to stay? I only heard some local area.
Going there next month!!!
Alina, Hope you are doing well. Montreal is a city that we've had many great memories. It's a place we keep going back to. Best Seasons are Summer and Fall for the Festivals i.e. Just for Laughs Comedy Festival , The Jazz Festival , The World film Festival are about a few. So many more to attend including a Japanese Festival. And Alina, we agree with you about Smoked Meat
and Bagels . The best in the world. There's nothing like it. Poutine is better in Montreal . Here ia a question ? St. Viateur or The Fairmount for Bagels ?
Sending you much love from Richmond, Va. 💕💕💕 Harriet, Jim and Yuki
Haha well hard to say since I don’t think I’ve had the bagels at the Fairmont, but I’m sure they’re fabulous!
I tried both, and they taste the same, both excellent
Montreal looks delicious!
Hi Alina nice watching your video injoy blogging ❤
There is Polish eatery in Old Port or Vieux Montreal called Stash. Close to UKR cuisine.
Very nice ❤
I liked Montreal when I visited. Most of the city is Fluently bilingual, so getting around in English is really easy. I've had the bagels and yes they were better than the standard ones. I was at Schwartz Deli for Montreal Smoked Meat which was very good, I was at Bar B Barnes for amazing ribs. Covid did in the original downtown location, but they have opened other locations around the city. I was most impressed with the fashion scene in Montreal, Going to a club the ladies were dressed to the nines in a way I've never seen before anywhere in Canada.
Ooo never heard of the rib place, will have to put it on the list!
it's nice to see montreal, it seems more beautiful and cosmopolitan with better architecture than calgary,
All the best and interesting cities in Canada are in the east, Halifax, Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. the worst cities are the Prairie cities like Calgary.
Best city in Canada
Always mention that Montréal and Québec city are often voted
by travel critics possibly the safest places on the planet for women who travel alone.
In Montreal we refer to it as old Montreal or the old port
I’d go there for the weather changes 😆
Great travel videos!! If you venture to the Ottawa area (I used to live in Ottawa), I recommend going to the Gatineau Park look-out near to Hull, Quebec. The edge of the Great Canadian Shield can be observed in all its glory. It is a amazing sight to see!! If you venture to Prince Edward Island and need accommodations, you are very welcome to stay at my humble abode near the ocean. You can help me improve my Russian speaking skills.
Nice to see Montreal, seems more beautiful and cosmopolitan with better architecture than Calgary,is this right?✌️❤️🇬🇧much love
Quebec is much better on all fronts than Alberta
100% 😂
You are comparing a city in Quebec to a typical city in north America where most important thing is detached suburban home and front/back yard and their so called "neighborhood character" (even though they are boring and has no character).
@@roshanramesh2634 wow, you just managed to fill a run on sentence with no substance at all
@@skinnflint you may not find a Substance in it, But I'm sure there are many people who can understand what I meant. the reason most of the cities across Canada and united states are uninspiring is post world War suburbia. Cities across Canada and united states used to be compact, vibrant and full of character before 1940s. But after that cities started building cities for cars instead for people. The car dependant suburbia, the same strip malls and big box stores. There is a reason why people in culturally rich European, Asian, and south american cities don't live in detached homes in sprawling suburbia and that's what makes Montreal so special, it's feels more like a European city rather than a post world War north American city. Everyone wants to live in a detached homes with front and back yard including me and even people in Europe but when we live in cities we have to make sacrifices for our collective good. I'm not saying we all should live in a 20 story condo tower but living in a 3 or 4 storey condo or townhouse with modest front and backyard is not horrible look at charming European cities like Zurich and amsterdam. Luckily urbanism is taking over north America and you can see the results many cities and removing single family zoning and building mixed use transit oriented developments, bike lanes are popping up and cities are tearing down highways inside cities. Please don't mistake me I'm not crazy to write these long paragraph😊 I just wanted to educate you that's it, you may try to understand it or just ignore.
I'd love to go back home to Canada and go to Montreal Alina they have good food lol
If you can afford it, go during the F1 race. It is a blast and great parties are everywhere.
At Schwartz’s you should have ordered a Black Cherry instead of a Diet Coke with your smoked meat poutine. That’s the Montreal tradition!
