- Here is how to remove Silly Putty from fabric clothing or carpet. To clean Silly Putty from fabric, put rubbing alcohol on the Silly Putty to break it down and dissolve it.

I got some on my brand new sweat pants that I Loveee
I got silly puddy and acrilic paint in my favorite pajama plants and the alcohol worked like a charm on both of them
Thank you! My daughter got silly putty all over the inside of her brand new sweat pants. The rubbing alcohol really did the trick. I used an old toothbrush to help sweep away the silly putty and that worked great (I threw out the toothbrush, it was caked in silly putty).

FYI: I googled this because my kid got Aaron's Thinking putty on his school uniform (a synthetic fiber) and I found I did not have any rubbing alcohol, but I did have some hand sanitizer (purell) and two pumps it worked like a charm.Took less than 2 min and the stain was made at 9am and now its 445pm. This also works with Krazy Aaron's Thinking Putty. My son fell asleep with some and accidentally got it on his brand new sheets. I couldn't find any rubbing alcohol in the house, but the alcohol based eyeglass cleaner I had from Walmart worked great.

Thank you so much for letting all of us know that alcohol dissolves silly putty! I tried freezing it and was eyeing the cooking oil bottle (like for removing peanut butter) and trying to decide how I'd hide that big an oil stain when my google light bulb went off.
The silly putty that I had to get out looked to be about the same color as what's in your video, but it was on the sleeve of a new light tan long-sleeved t-shirt. After the putty was dissolved I tried to brush out the color that it left behind, but I should have set up a barrier inside the sleeve because the color went through to the other side. Most,but not all of the color came out with more alcohol - it's dim, but still there. I rinsed the shirt, will let it dry and try another alcohol bath later.

My daughter fell asleep with the glow in the dark putty and it all over her black furry fleece pj pants. I then forgot about them and carelessly throw it in my own laundry bin and got some on my husband's black dress pants. Realizing a week later starting the laundry I thought the pants were done for! Thank goodness I watched this video and comments, I used hand sanitizer and it came right out with a lot of elbow grease and paper towel. Thanks!

Awesome all-purpose , at Walmart, Dollar Tree, 99 cent store has it, after scraping it off, use Palmolive dishwashing soap or any dliquid soap, powder rub with a little water and it back to it old color. Just for thought.

An alcohol swab works well too. The dissolved putty transfers to the swab.

You seriously just saved the lives of my 3 children. THEY thought it would hilarious to put silly putty in my chair and THEN let me walk allllll around God's green earth with a big hot pink blob of it stuck to my bum. Mall, grocery store, gas station and then finally in the restroom as we were leaving the library I do a customary twirl in the mirror and to my horror see the blob stuck so perfectly to my left cheek. In my new jeans ::cue Psycho music:: Children laugh, I freak out and ground them all for eternity and beyond etc etc. And then I find your video. And the putty came right out no problem.
