Cool little video thank you. I just bought my first bike , it runs drives and stops and looks good but it has idle issues and now compression issues. It’s a 1980 Honda cb750 DOHC. any ways from cylinders 1 thru 4 compression is #1 90 #2 60 #3 60 #4 90 it runs I rode it 50 miles a few times No problem . It also has AirPods instead of airbox. It’s also a rigid frame I talked to a mechanic in my area and he won’t touch it because of the AirPods any ways I hear they won’t run on compression that low but I’ve had the needle bouncing at 100 not sure if it’s right. How can I tell what’s the exact reason for my compression issue. Thank you
First things first, I would start with a cool engine and check the valve adjustments. Once I verified that my valves are adjusted 100% correct then I would compression test again to see what I get. Hope this helps. 🤘
@@fixingorflipping thanks for getting back to me so fast . I’m not a mechanic but can deal with minor stuff. I already heard that to adjust the valves on these DOHC Hondas tat it takes shims. I also bought a Digi sync to sync the carbs because of the high idle but then I did a compression test. Anyways thanks for replying and I did subscribe trying to learn some stuff.
Do you always need a title with dirt bikes/atvs also?
Depends on your plans with it… if you want to just ride it around your property maybe not? If you want to sticker it, our experience is yes, you should get one.
