*Sorry I've been rather absent from BIS recently! Not only have I just become a Dad again (welcome, Charlotte!) but I'm working on something huge which marks a new and very exciting addition to the BIS brand! It's a biggie, and I can't wait to share it with you!*
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Ps 139:13-14 NIV)
Many thanks once again for kindly playing Abide With Me on Sunday - my elder brother has sadly & tragically been diagnosed with Dementia & Cancer without more than one year to live so be aware that I am taken a lot of strength & solace listening to many of your past & continuous performances 👍thank you & God Bless you all🙏🏼
Charlotte's Toccata, how absolutely joyous. I think it will keep me smiling all day. And Cecilia, Patron Saint of music, the name I chose for Confirmation, because of my love of music. One last thing, about having a musician father - as a child, my father always celebrated my birthdays, playing 'Happy Birthday' to me on his tuba❣️
I played this in an organ recital after working it up with my organ performance professor at Bowling Green State University. Congrats for NOT taking it so fast that the piece loses its cohesion and beauty. Also, congrats on the family.
Fantastic, I'm very happy for you and Caroline. Daughters are so so precious. My own daughter had a daughter last Wednesday, Clara James. I wish and pray for good health for all!
I too have been absent from BIS recently with so much stuff going on in my life. Many congratulations to you both on the arrival of Charlotte. Bless this little one and what lovely names you have chosen. Bless you all indeed
Little Charlotte Cecilia will one day be as proud of that performance as you are of her right now, Richard! That was a superb performance, bringing immediately to mind that of Dr Francis Jackson at York Minster a generation ago. His was IMO, the definitive and your artistry has come so close that the difference doesn't matter!
Simply Incredible Richard! Not too rushed yet played very energetic (my organ teacher would certainly give this a thumbs up, which is not a low praise). Though I must say that I am not entirely convinced yet that Dudelange is the best sampleset for Hauptwerk, the surround version sounds like one of the best sets out there! Also many congrats with Charlotte's first week birthday!
Congratulations, Richard and Caroline. Well done. Welcome to wee Charlotte, may she have many years. Possibly another organist in the family. Slàinte Mhath🏴
Best wishes to you and your (larger!) family! Wonderful rendition of Dubois's masterpiece; clever and articulative registration, absolutely excellent! Can't wait to see the new BIS project! 🎶
Congratulations, Papa, Mama, and Hugo, and welcome to a lovely family, Miss Charlotte Cecilia! Iddio vi benedica, tutto la famiglia. Oh, and the organ piece is splendid.
Fantastic - what a beautiful performance! It is wonderful that you are indeed blessed with dear Caroline, Hugo and now little Charlotte. Precious days and memories to keep forever.
Many congratulations you you both - “your cup runneth over” & you fully deserve it 🙏🏼I’ve been comforted many times since those dark & restrictive Covid days & marvel how you’ve gone from strength to strength in more ways than we could ever have envisioned 🙏🏼May the good & gracious Lord continue doing so🙏🏼
Beautiful piece to welcome Charlotte. Pleased Hugo has accepted his sister so readily. Congratulations again Richard and Caroline and well done Caroline. Priorities have changed again Richard so prayers for your family. Blessings from New Zealand 🇳🇿. 🎉🙏🙏🙏🙏
Huge congratulations to you, Caroline and Hugo. Wonderful news, gorgeous name, and a sparkling performance to celebrate! Enjoy yourselves as a family of four 🎉😊
Such a wonderful thing to hear about the new addition to your family. Congratulations to you and Caroline on the birth of your daughter Charlotte. I’m so happy for your entire family!
Congratulations to the proud parents and welcome Charlotte! The Toccata is played so well, and with a jaunty rhythm so steady one can set their watch to it. So fun to see you use your right heel for the start of two pedal note figuration, where most organists would lead off with toes. Lovely sample set, with the reeds not being completely tamed but certainly not grossly bombastic.
Awesome playing, Richard. I particularly like your sense of forward drive - I tend to use rather more rubato/flexible tempi, but I think I might try this approach next time I play it.
How absolutely Fantabulous - The McVeighs have two "music" children: Hugo Herbert(Howells)McVeigh and Charlotte(Saint)Cecilia McVeigh. And now I am thinking about(Blessed Cecilia, appear in visions to all musicians, appear and inspire!) Yes, its a Benjamin Britten thing. XD. And if Richard and Caroline have a boy as their next child, maybe it might be given the middle name Sebastian after the great composer every organist cuts their chops on... XD. Oh, almost forgot, and a girl as their 4th child being named Jeanne after Jeanne Demessieux - Yes, I know I'm rambling on....
Relatively new to this channel but I really love what you do! Congratulations on the new addition to the family and on 100,000. very much looking forward to more

Aww brilliant news especially about Hugo's reaction. The Toccata is played quite well too! 😂
It was a relief, and something we were quite anxious about. We’re still a bit anxious about flying cars, however…
