Re: the magazine, the way they have handled ‘the Taki problem’ has been informative, and amusing to me, in its meekness. No editorial send off of any kind? The man has been a columnist in the magazine for decades! Just an embarrassingly quiet mention that Taki was away ‘challenging his accusers’, or something to that effect. Surely he will never return. But nor should he. Frankly, I’ve long-that is, for years-found Taki’s column a tired tirade. How is it possible in recent years that the magazine’s editors can still have considered his morning-after-yet-another-bacchanal recountings, replete with the candid mention of his lothario-esque leerings at a young female attendee (often twinned with a deferential nod to his long-suffering wife), to be good copy? 😂

On the budget…the logical way to level up, reduce the deficit, win a few votes even, is to tax those who can afford it. Not the middle classes, the rich, the super rich, big corporations who want to do business in the UK but don’t want to pay their fair share of tax on massive profits.
