- This Snarky Puppy reaction is genuinely my first time ever hearing their song "Shofukan". Another very impressive and musically delightful performance from these musicians. Really enjoyed the trumpet solo and Larnell Lewis's chops as per usual.

When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.
Please do recommend songs or other artists for me to checkout in future by commenting on this video! I'm constantly on the lookout for great new music and things I've never heard before.

Justin Stanton was the soloist on trumpet. He is not only a regular keyboardist but one of the lead composers and arrangers also. Dude is SUPER talented and yes; the dynamics and timbre of his performance demonstrate EXACTLY how good he is as a musician..
Also, Nate Werth the percussionist absolutely KILLS IT AGAIN! His accompaniment with Larnell Lewis is masterful and almost perfect. Thanks for the review. It's good to see one of these reaction videos from someone who knows what they are listening to and better still, knows what they are talking about.

Michael League had mentioned that the baseline you hear around 3:00 he picked up from a song he could barely hear in a department store in another country... He couldn't hear where beat 1 was, he heard it as 3,4,1,2... And that is what he used
has been a long time since Lingus.....but did you notice.....the horn soloist is the keyboard player who opens Lingus (and Sleeper ;-) )

Hey Steve, been liking your stuff! Have you ever seen any high level marching band type stuff? If not I'd love to see what you think about DCI videos! One cool one to get into would be the Carolina Crown in the Lot 2013 video. It's just a warmup of their show and the hardest parts... but it's mindblowing
