- Fished the Gamtoos surf early morning on neap push tide, after no catches I decided to join some friend who were fishing from the river bank. A few good juvenile Garrick had already been caught, and there were sightings of chases from large Garrick. Three casts in and I bump my first 83cm Skippy on a Trophy Tails Bucktail. I changed over to a Sure Strike Sinking Pencil (Shiver Stick) and was immediately into my next 79cm Skippy!!
Great. I haven't seen a skippy video in years. And nice sizes as well.
@brucecannon2343 glad you enjoyed the video Bruce...have about two months with them in the Gamtoos...maybe another few soon!!
Wow..good stuff Brett!
Great handling of these stunning fish! Well done!
@Megalopsatlanticus thanks man, treat these chaps with kit gloves. First one I ever caught was just about scaled!
Lovely catches with quality skippies and always a great fight. Well done😊👌
Glad you enjoyed the video Peter! Those skippies definitely put up a good fight!!

@@richardfritz873 many thanks!!

@@surestrikefishingtackle3258 great stuff...banged quite a few on that little lure now!! :-)
Hi, Brett. Grats on two nice Skipjacks. Nice to see local content. Nice to see them on video also. Do you mind listing your tackle that are featured and used on your channel like the overseas content creators? It helps to learn about the brand/s and with better informed purchases in the future to see them in action like this. Tight Lines and lots more fish for you 😃.
Thanks for the positive feedback William! Thats a great suggestion and I will certainly add some tackle info in the video description. I have recently added some tackle info in the video dialogue. I'm a great believer in using tackle that is fit for target species, purpose and budget rather than over ego! LoL
Are you sure this is Gamtoos. Never heard of skipjack in that river 😊
@@donovanpautz I was wrong, but I figured it out all by myself! LoL Something else coming soon! *WinK*
Hey Brett, do you by chance know the diameter of the HMP braid?
@@JSJ-mn8wg thinnest you will find 15lb @ 0.125mm
