Great shot of the buttons to release the lines. I got stuck on these for about 45 minutes. Everything I read seemed to say you push the line in and then pinch the connector, no mention of the button. Once I found a photo of the actual location of the button, it took me 30 seconds to pull all three lines. As a note, if you loosen the bolt on the filter retainer, you can rotate the filter to easily reach any buttons hiding on the other side. Also, I sprayed some cleaner on the lines first, and that made the release buttons a lot easier to see.

Found your video too late , Spent an hour on my back trying to do this job , gave up for now. You are the only one to actually explain about the clips and how to extract . Thanks to others who said about clip pliers ,have ordered some and will try again.Brilliant Video

So I'm replacing the fuel pump on my 2013 CC is the fuel filter located in the same place? Idiots at BAP say it's in the pump but that's just the strainer I thought

Nice video! Excellent tip about putting the fuel caps from the new filter onto the old one, to prevent gas from leaking all over you. Not even Paul at Deutsche Auto Parts knew about that trick :-)

gas is a great cleaner for the most part. if you run your car a lot and dont have a car sitting for long months or years. your filter should last a good while. but yes its an easy and cheap change that should be done every once in a while

Buy the tool to remove the fuel filter it saves time and you dont ruin your fingers playing with it and so much less frustration. I learned after i did this on my old a4 3.0 after the first time i bought the pliers.

These don’t work when you attach the connectors incorrectly. I did it for you so you can know for sure that it doesn’t work. You’re welcome.
