    I was so exhausted this weekend I completely failed to mention which patterns I was working on, OR how far I actually got in the challenge. So firstly, much to my surprise, I did complete the whole 24 hours!
    The Peppermint Purple SAL is and old one and no longer available, the purple shawl is www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sun-glitter-shawl and the nightmare sock project is www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/smaug-socks. Note, the socks are a nightmare because I'm an idiot and not because of any issue with the pattern itself 🤦‍♀

    Thank you so much for your video! I enjoy the heck out of you❤. I usually slide my q snap clamps off rather than trying to pop them off. It must be aligned just so, and you must mind the corner of the clamp so it doesn’t snag the fabric, but it usually zips right off. xoxo

      Doing that always freaks me out so much! When my first one was brand new and the snaps were still really tight it caught on some delicate fabric and...well long story short popping is the way for me now :D

    This is just the cheer up I needed today, so clearly it didn't take you too long to get online, you were just holding it back for the perfect day for me - the main character. For which I thank you!

    Thank you for your videos. They really are informative and great fun to watch - and I am nothing if not very critical! They must take a great deal of time to edit so just wanted you to know that your work is appreciated. 😊
    I am now the proud owner of two Q-Snaps and am off to buy some felt tomorrow so that I feel safe using them. (Thanks to your tips re using Q-Snaps!). All the best, Sue x

      Aw thank you! This one took about five weeks, but luckily that's a bit of an outlier 😂
      Congrats on the new q-snaps, hope you love them as much as I do, not to be dramatic but they kind of changed my stitching life.

    Thanks for the video! I'll be adding the corner clamp to my Christmas list. I taped a piece of a nonslip rubberized shelf liner to the side clamp of my stand. And it does work for awhile. It seems if I have to turn it alot to get to the back of my project it works itself loose. Nice progress on your projects! If you ever want more blackwork projects check out Urban Stitches. I just got a couple of their patterns, though I haven't started them yet. I hadn't heard of them until my LNS had them for preorder from Needlework Market in August. Take care.

      Uhoh, enabling alert! Thanks for the recommendation :D A few people have mentioned using the shelf liner so I guess great minds think alike, I was only using the felt because it was what I happened to have lying around the house. Whatever works, though, right?

    Haha that zoom on Mr Blobfish spooked me! 😂 So happy they sent you the clamp for free! Cannot wait for the next 24hocs in the discord, though I will probably do a 24h of different crafts instead! 🤭 Really enjoyed this vlog!

      Such a rebel! I'm considering a brand new start for it, but depends if I can actually decide what I want to start in time to buy all the bits for it :D

    Finally broke down and ordered a lowery because I’m fed up with my cheap wood stand that just never seems to be the right height or angle. It’s coming next week. So excited. On the wood stand I’ve been using non slip shelf liner over the grime guard on my q snap to keep everything from slipping. I expect the same system will likely work well for the lowery as well. I had looked at the corner clamp but decided I just could not justify basically doubling the cost of the stand. I’m sure it’s very high quality but it is a pity it is such a pricey add on. So for now it will live on my wish list along with a complete set of the pip and stitch floss chips. Glad to hear it is worth the hype though!

      @TheGiddyStitcher  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's exactly how I felt about it, living with the side clamp and just using felt for grip was working absolutely fine but the corner one is definitely a VERY nice to have. Congrats on upgrading! I hope you love yours as much as I do mine :)

    I alway use it in the top corner. Tried the bottom corner kept getting the thread caught, was getting very agro with it but now i love it.

    • @TheGiddyStitcher
      @TheGiddyStitcher  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I think it just depends on your angle and where in the frame you're trying to stitch, for me it was even worse on top but that'll probably be different from project to project! Always good to have options.

    Regardless of how much progress you thought you made, you seemed to have fun. The cross stitch piece is stunning: so colorful and precise. And, let's not even talk about how neat the back is. Wow. What is the name of the shawl pattern you're knitting? I have a few skeins of variegated yarn that I think might work. Thank you for all your videos. I appreciate all the hard-learned information you so generously share, the humor, and the snark. Keep well.

      It's the Sun Glitter Shawl from Under the Olive Tree Knits. Really simple one-skein pattern, it's available here www.undertheolivetreeknits.com/ourshop/prod_6868295-FREE-One-Skein-Shawl-Knitting-Pattern-Sun-Glitter-Shawl.html but you can actually get it for free if you sign up to their newsletter too. That's how I unexpectedly got it after signing up at a recent yarn show, and the purple yarn seemed like the perfect thing. Thanks for the lovely words!

    Can you move the corner to the top ensted of the bottom. Then maybe you won't get your floss stuck. Love your Videos.

    • @TheGiddyStitcher
      @TheGiddyStitcher  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That totally does work too! It didn't work for me here just because of the bit of the frame I was stitching in, but you can totally move it around to suit and I'm sure I will be doing plenty of that :D

    Stotti Bread?……You teased us with that delicious picture…..had to do my due diligence and read up on this bread from Northeast England…..fascinating…….hey did You watch Green Bay this last weekend?…..my team here in Olympia,Washington State the Seahawks lost another tough one to New York….

      I was honestly into my 20s before I even found out stottie bread is a local thing, and I've pitied the rest of the world since! If you ever get chance to try it, highly recommend.
      Been watching all of the Packers games, of course! I really thought the season was over after week 1, but we're somehow clinging on. Naturally I still resent the Seahawks for what happened in 2015 but some would say it's probably time to get over that, lol. Let's hope for victories for both of us this week!

    does anyone have any recommendations for holding devices that suit people who work on small things or who used to work in-hand? I have always much preferred to work in-hand, I don't like the sensation of the stab work you have to do when you work in a frame. - and it hurts my shoulder to do it for long periods, anyway. However, I'm starting to get carpal tunnel in my holding (not needle) hand and my physio is also concerned about my spine. So, is there any kind of frame/holding thing that allows you to do more of a slide stitch motion? And if not, does anyone know of a way to stop working in a frame aggravating my shoulder so much?

    I bought the corner clamp. Sadly I am left handed and it had to be used on my top right corner. I wish they could make a corner clamp for us lefties.

      This is a really good point I hadn't thought of, despite being married to a leftie. Oops! I guess turning it backwards and putting it on the bottom right puts the handle part too much in the way?
