    You explain this well.
I've been using this idea in recent projects. I thought I'd invented it... Not really!
    Other advantages are...
    - less heat in the coil
    - faster release time
    - smaller back emf

Really cool. I am looking into using several relays in parallel for a high current application. Does it affect the current that relay can handle? Like is the contact as strong as it is on full coil voltage? Thanks

The problem with connecting several relays in parallel that you can not insure all relays switch ON at the EXACT same moment, so if the contacts of the first relay closes (lets say) 2 milisecond before than the other relays, the entire current passing through this single relay and this huge current could damage it. I don't think using my circuit explained in this video affect the max. current of the relay but maybe make the contacts a bit slower.

@@MousaSimpleProjects Thanks, got it! Any idea about the single relay current handling capacity, when coil is on lower voltage? Maybe the relay contacts are not pressed strong enough against each other, when the voltage on the coil is lowered? So if the relay current is stated at 30A under full coil voltage, is it still 30A when you lower the coil voltage?

I don't think lowering the coil's voltage affect the maximum current of the relay.

Is there a specific rule/formula when picking a capacitor for a particular relay (Voltage/capacity and type, electrolitic/solid state)?

I have no formula, you can try different capacitors to see which of them works better.
