Should you not have sprayed both surfaces and waited the alloted time to start attachimg the fabric piece? Is it still holding up?

Honestly speaking, the final result is very unsatisfactory.

Is it better to wait a few minutes after spraying before attaching the fabric? It looked like you attached it fairly quickly in the video. I heard there were issues with staining, when applied to fast.

The first generation Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape's are the worst for this, so I ripped all mine off of the doors and painted when the leather was at

How much time do you have to get it straight before it sets?

or buy a replacement at the junk yard for $20 sometimes it makes more sense to replace than to repair

Always assuming your car is new enough that you can find one. Also, it takes time to schlep through the salvage yard and find the car. Overall, the time spent to travel to ONE salvage yard, find one suitable car (if available), remove part, drive home, exceeds the time for me to take the part off my car and repair it. I am trying this repair now, but in addition I am going to use a heat gun to heat the vinyl to 180F with infrared thermometer to verify temperature in order to help stretch and set the vinyl. If necessary, I will add some rivets to keep vinyl flush at parts that are trying to not stay flush.

you sure thatll work on rubberized vinyl?? Once it gets hot in the south, it had better have some of the rubber-stretchy stuff in there. loc-tite and 3M 88 high strength wont even work.
