Aloha Carrie! I've been doing the same for almost 3 months. I get my last steps in during a 45 minute sunset walk after dinner, so I've been done eating for the day by 5:30. I eliminated processed foods, and I've lost about 5 pounds, and my clothes are looser. My energy and mood are through the roof! I've really gotten addicted to it! Oh- and i haven't drunk alcohol at all during my challenge. That could have something to do with my imprroved energy and mood, too! 🎉
That is great!! I also try to always be done eating by 6:00. That makes a huge difference. I'm so happy you are seeing such positive change. Maybe you will join me for the 20,000 step challenge?!?!?!
This is just what I needed to round out my 2025 goals! I am pretty active at my job, and I "try" to walk on the treadmill before work so I thought I was getting near 10,000 per day but truth be told, I wasn't. This video has inspired me to be CONSISTENT and really make sure I am getting to 10,000 every. single. day. I will most likely go up from there! Thank you!
I started walking 10000 steps a day about 2 weeks ago. I have never felt better. Best decision ever. I am so inspired by you that I’m gonna up my game and aim for 15000 steps. Thank you 🎉
Hi Carrie. I have been working out for yrs & added more walking as a workout. At times I walk 175+ miles a month. I'm 65 yrs old and feel so good everyday physically and the walking is my sanity/therapy.
I love this one! I usually average 12,000 steps a week. Your testimonial thst your sleep improved so much motivated me to aim for this rested 3000 steps daily, starting TODAY!! Thanks for sharing!! Have a great weekend.
I’m 55 and trying to be better version of myself. I’ve always gotten atleast 10,000 steps but I’ve started lifting weights and walking. I enjoy it and it changes my mindset and I feel So much better physically and emotionally
I average just under 10K steps/day. I'm willing to bump it up to 15K just to see if I get the same effects on my sleep since menopause seems to have created insomnia for me most nights. I miss the days of falling right to sleep! Thanks, I enjoyed your video.
I'm 66. I just got motivated by watching your channel I was walking 7000 steps I did 10000 today ! I need to lose 10 more pound to be at a healthy weight . I've been at a stand still 😃 I enjoy your channel thank you 😀
I like this idea, but for me I need to set a realistic goal, if I wouldn't make 15,000 I would get discouraged and maybe quit altogether. My goal is 10,000 steps a day 5 days a week. It's more sustainable. Love your channel!
Thank you so much!! I agree! If I had started out at 15,000 when I first began my step challenge, I would have quit! I slowly worked up to 15,000 steps. And now I am going to try 20,000, but only because I set realistic goals along the way. I’m proud of you for starting a 10,000 step challenge! Let me know how you do!!
I will be starting my own challenge in the next couple of weeks. I do strength training, but not enough movement exercise, and I sit all day for work, so my back has taken a beating. At 56, I definitely need to be thinking about making sure I stay mobile. I will be getting a Fitbit and the standing desk and under-desk treadmill that you recommended, and will be getting outside more. Thanks, Carrie!
Health starts in the kitchen. It’s what you eat. Adding exercise is a bonus. You either burn up the calories in movement or you carry it in weight. Plant based lifestyle and 60 min of strength trying got me healthier. I move all day
I love this. I walk over 10k every day. Just varies on what I end up on. I could never walk on the treadmill as much as you do. One, I’m walking dogs and they’d revolt 😂 and two the great outdoors calls me. Glad you do some of it outside too.
LOL! Yes, if I had dogs, my life would be very different. I do love my treadmill though:). But I have loved getting out into my community and enjoying the beauty of the place I live. I'm glad you are walking over 10.000 steps a day!! That is great for your health in so many ways.
The best walking shoes ever: MBT-2000 II Absolutely perfect, and I did not get sore feet from them - my other favorite shoe from Joya went out of production (the particular style) so I contacted MBT, told them what I had, and asked them for suggestions on a replacement. I ordered the MBT-2000 II on their suggestion and then went on a 2 week trip in Europe. I was taking a risk, but they felt so good I decided it would probably be ok. It was. We walked A LOT and the only issue I had was my feet got a little cold in the colder places because the shoes have such great ventilation. Anyway - this sounds like an infomercial. Sorry. I just love the shoes. I have crooked hips and one leg is a few centimeters shorter than the other; I do not have to wear my little wedge insert anymore. But, the shoes are NOT great for hiking rocky terrain. For that, I use Altra's Lone Peak shoe. Excellent for uneven and rocky trails. I'll have to check in to a fitbit. Right bow I usually only map my intentional walks and hikes, but the fitbit would track everything. I get at least 12,000 steps a day from walking and being on my feet all day. You've inspired me to get the treadmill out when I'm watching my evening show. 😊❤
I’m 70 years old. I just subscribed. I eat a Carnivore diet mostly meat and little vegetables like onions garlic and spices. I take lots of polyphenols. I am just decided to add walking to my daily routine. I plan on starting slow and building up my pace and steps. You look healthy 😊 thank you
I decided to walk on the sidewalk for an hour every day. Yesterday, on day 3, I tripped and fell on uneven pavement and scraped my face on the ground. It’s going fabulously.
I was walking 3 miles every evening, and averaging 10,000 steps a day, for nearly a year. I’d lost 30 pounds. Somehow, I got out of the habit, and I haven’t walked in two months. I’ve regained 15 pounds! 😫 I’m trying to get my motivation back! Help!
Wow! That was a great accomplishment. First, don’t beat yourself up. This happens to everyone. I would just take time to evaluate what happened to get you off track and deal with that. Then put out a challenge to yourself. You already know you can do the 10,000, so get back to that and then see what you can do beyond it!! You’ve got this!!!
This morning I just happened to come across this video. I am 56 and very sedentary because of this I hurt everywhere. My job is mostly sitting at a desk although I do take time to walk my properties but then I get home and I am tired from my day that I sit on the couch until bedtime. Most weekends are spent on the couch unless visiting family. I average 2,000 steps a day. Your video has inspired me. Any advice on how to get started?
Thank you for responding! I feel like it wasn’t that long ago that I was barely walking a quarter of a mile a day because I was so sick. I built up slowly, and that is what I would recommend. If you are currently at 2,000 steps, I would add another 1,000 with the goal of getting to 7,500 steps. Level out at that and then see where your body wants to go. I’m getting ready to do a 20,000 step challenge and never could have imagined that a year ago!! So let your body lead you while also lovingly pushing it:). One other thing, when I was sick I would pace in front of the tv. You might try that at night.
I did 25,000 steps every day in August 2022. Then in 2023 I did 20,000 steps a day every day. But in all fairness, in my work I get a minimum of 7000, usually 10,000 before I do any extra walking....
Tootsies- you need to buy bigger shoes. When you run or walk these long distances, your feet swell. You should buy at least a 1/2 size larger sneakers than your normal shoes.
Have you ever done a walking challenge? If so, how did it effect your life?

Curious how do you get the Fitbit to record your steps on the treadmill.
I always make sure my left hand is pacing with my steps. If I ever need to hold on, I do it with my right hand!
On day 12 today 15k steps a day, so far so good
Yay!!! You have gotten past the hardest part!!
@ yeah because I have been doing 10k steps since March but I wasnt feeling it anymore
I would like to see your weight training workout
I will put that together and let you know!
How old are you?
Thanks for the motivation

Do you strength training?
