Just for example, try taking video today of San Francisco as in this video and see what you get to compare. There is no doubt in my mind the 50’s and people during this period had more class and were happier.
Something that is in America but not in Russia or China! Freedom and rock'n'roll! Best of America!
WAS in america.
Yep NEVER HEARD of ROCK-A-BILLY TILL NOW AND I ALSO WAS BORN IN 1950,ROCK AND ROLL,😂😂😂😂😂😂
I hate seeing things like this because it makes me understand that things will never be this good again...
I feel you. I guess we are getting old. Makes me smile, and cry at the same time. I think of what my Grand Daughters first home purchase, or car will be like... "Okay Mam sign here, congratulations, here is your check for your new $22.456,124.00 trailer park home, oh it's a double wide, yes, of coarse"... she's 5 now.
@@whocares.20 Things are getting crazy. My wife and I have been looking for a new single wide mobile home and the cheapest you can find is around $45,000 in Louisiana. Its insanity.
Back when things were affordable and most people were sane.
Before the wealthy figured out they could make financing its own industry and farm people like cattle. With the help of the government of course.
@David Sanchez That's also capitalism. Because that's what we're living in right now.
They still had asylums back then so all the crazies weren’t on the street like now.
A TV back then cost the equivalent of a brand new BMW and you would bay 15 $ for a suit when most people just earned 100 $ a month. And talking about sanity: back then people were watching nuke explosions for fun and lynchings were still a thing.
And stop whining about capitalism. It gave you this platform where you can watch all this for FREE. No 0,25 $ for one piece in a jukebox like back then.
But yeah, the good old days and stuff...
"affordable", well youtube gives you this music for free. you would have to pay for that in the 50s
Don't be worry ; in Paris we - me and my friends - when we dance on this, we keep alive your pOOWWEerfull music ;) big thank
Théodore Ternisien us Americans too not just you...Don’t feel special
I'm glad that some of you in Paris, and all over Europe, are keeping this music alive. I think that it's appreciated more there than here in America. Best wishes to you and your fellow dancers.
@@rebelgreaser570 can you just be happy for someone for fucks sake
Yep
@@rebelgreaser570 If it wasn't for English kids in the 70s and 80s much of this music wouldn't exist on original 45 vinyl. America never did nostalgia then it was always about the next 'new thing' same with the rare soul scene and the blues it took the "British invasion" to show white America what it had in the archives. So basically we bought up loads of old vinyl for a couple of cents a copy from huge thrift warehouses and nowadays many of those records return to the States for 100s and often 1000s of dollars. Just as well Britain has always looked a little deeper and recognised that just because something is no longer hip it deserves preservation and closer scrutiny.
TH-cam is the closest to a time machine we can get.
I said this to my husband.
@@music_istherapy8860 Good to know! I am extremely glad that to know that you told this to your husband, and he was informed about this TH-cam comment. These images of the daily life in the USA in the 50's are quite fascinating!!!!!!!!!!!!!an heaven period!
It looks like such a great time to be alive.
God Bless America.
J'adore ces musiques là alors que je suis né en 1963 mais ma mère m'a dit qu'elle allait danser sur ces musiques là donc je pense que j'adore grâce à ça
This video is freedom, be what you want, do what you want, say what you want.
You couldn't be gay or black though, you had to fight for that
Lobster the Mobster millions of black and gay folks would disagree with you, but yeah good story bro
@@Deibote i mean if you were gay you'd be disowned form your family and had to hide your identity away tonbe accepted and if you were black you were excluded, mocked, and hated by society. That doesn't sound like being what i want and doing what i want. Those people had to fight to be accepted though things like the civil rights movement and gay rights movements
Love this old footage
The film quality is unbelievable !
Yeah, for sure. The quality is really impressive, considering the years when these videos were filmed👏🏾
A lot of social connection/interaction back then. Society and people weren't atomized and cerebral like they are now.
@David Sanchez A racist preaching 'empathy' LMAO
It was safer too, and less political. White majority too.

I see only all american made cars! Love it!
Notice how skinny and healthy everybody was back then.
Because they are the ones who invented fast food and tv dinners.
Except for the fact that they all smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day.
Mcdonalds happened.
Ever notice on planes trains buses and cars that the seats are getting smaller and smaller as the people's butts are getting bigger and bigger
We also had a manufacturing economy instead of a service economy.....people did alot of hard work instead of sitting behind desks.

La plus belle religion du monde Le rock n roll
Rock and Roll took several steps back around 1959-60. Took it several years to come back, and it was never the same.
Elvis was drafted..
