I’m 40 years old now so born in ‘79 but I’ve always liked the ‘50’s era. The music, the cars, the attitude, the confidence, the innocence, the way we dressed...the America we know today was born then and lives on in the videos, music and cars from then. I stop and talk to anyone alive then who’s willing to share their stories. I wish we connected more like people did back then. Like settling disputes on the track!

I'm on the tail end of being a 'Baby Boomer' (1964). I wasn't around to enjoy the simplicities of Godly life in that era, but my childhood memories are filled with mostly the pleasant and simple. We were far from rich, so our trips out of town were limited to within driving distances in my home state of Florida; visiting my paternal grandparents in central FL, summer trips to Daytona Beach, school and church trips to Disney, etc.(One particular school trip to WDW cost $10 at the gate, but you had to buy books of tickets for rides once you got in.) However, a few shots of that era are still around in my recollection. I recall Burma Shave signs, full-service gas stations, and nickel pay phone calls (pay phones at all!) Party lines connected through home phones when you had to wait for someone to end their call if you wanted privacy. Green Stamps from grocery stores for redemption of household goods, etc. Although my era of growing up in the USA was filled with many national and international problems, socially and otherwise, I was somehow sheltered in my home from being affected by them. And, for some reason, one clear memory I have is of Walter Cronkite reporting the end of the US's involvement in Viet Nam in 1973. Still, if I could pick and choose political and moral issues for issues, I'd trade 2022 for 1974 any day.

what memories buried in this music so energetic. you can't stay static while listening to it, it makes you want to beat the rhythm too much. It was the time of a youth spent in the recklessness of the post-war period, swollen with too much enthusiasm, wanting to laugh, sing, flirt and get drunk on the sweets of life.
thank you to all ephemeral artists who still contribute today beyond their disappearance to drag us into a whirlwind of frenzied music after having lived a stupid war, too long and so cruel for their twenty years

I was born 1950, a youngster, not even preteen during this decade, but I had older cousins born right after WWII, this was their generation. Mine was the 60's. But I love this music because they listened to this.

haha, back in those days all we had was school and religion but I quit school and stopped going to church, got a job and bought a car. Then I had a home on wheels with a radio and speed. Drinking age was 21 in Canada but it was easy to get beer and smokes and then girls. The back seat was like a bed and I had a lot of cars so..aahh, just figure it out. It was the BEST of times. No TV, no FAKE news, no nothing but cruising and lovin' . :)

Thanks for this awesome rockabilly content.
