628DirtRooster I really think that's how the bees felt about it~ :) They crashed down onto those boxes, but smelled the queens and boxes that smelled of other bees, and went 'We are HOME!!' And I was cracking up listening to your guys banter and joke. 'No, *you* get out of your vehicle!' XD No cop would come within fifty yards of that truck.
@@parteibonza They have a natural tendency to swarm, sometimes their queen dies unexpected, sometimes they are too crowded in the boxes they were already in and so they leave and swarm/gather on nearby limbs looking for a new home. It's a natural process, especially in the spring. It's the natural process bees use to reproduce.
It appears that your system of beekeeping relies on swarming. Here in New Zealand, we use hive splits and extra boxes to prevent swarming. Occasionally we catch a swarm that has left someone else's hive. I noted that most of your hives were single box. Here we generally run 2 brood boxes + honey supers.

628DirtRooster I should have bought some bees off you. I just bought a 3 lb. package to grow for an investment colony. let them pollinate my garden and orchard, but then split the hives next year and sell them to local orchards and berry farms.
Awesome!. Impressive! I can't believe how far away they were from the boxes, they actually got into the boxes and yall cleaned them branches off . Wow! This was awesome to watch!
Andrew Brown You can just use some 6" PVC plumbing pipe with an 6 to 8" reducer on top. On your end you place cloth bag or a swarm box. Now put the reducer under the swarm and use the pipe to let them slide down into thw box/bag.
My anxiety is through the roof… a gazillion bees swarming around & no one is wearing gloves. Reaching into those boxes barehanded with bees all over them. Much respect to you gentlemen! I’d have been stung 100 x by now
When that caption said "have you figured out what were doing?" I first thought was "they're not just dropping that swarm into the bed of their pickup!" and that's exactly what you did! All of them hitting at once was amazing!
628DirtRooster HA! That would be awesome! Just go by a truck weigh in before and after! LOL They may look at you a little crazed, especially your way back through the second time, but I bet they won't tell you NO! HAHAHA
You guys are awesome at keeping bees, transporting bees, removing swarms and colonies while doing it all humanely and with total respect for these little creatures. I am very allergic to bee stings, but I don't hate bees. I love what you all do and helping our planet at the same time! God bless! Oh, by the way, I am a new subscriber too. Go figure 💯%💗❗
amazing. bee keeping needs to be respected. without bees everything dies. wish more people would see the bigger picture about them. ive seemed to be watching more and more bee keeping videos just to see what they can produce. hats off to all you bee keepers.
Just started watching 628 unbelievable if not for video. Enjoying all your videos so for. My bother-in -law and me going to start bee keeping live in Houston, Tx. He lives in Dayton. Thanks for the great info on all your videos.
B.R. Utahn elsewhere in the comments someone mentions tractor trailers of 250 hives. At 10 million that’d be 40.000 per hive. A quick google says that might not be an unrealistic number for a healthy hive...
wow, awesome work guys! I really loved the idea with the bow and arrow. I would like a more detailed version of how you do that at some point. It would help with those swarms that are beyond the reach of an extension ladder and pole saw.
Thats hilarious. "The good thing about this is you can drive home as fast as you want and you will not get pulled over" ....."sir step out of the vehicle.", 'NO! You step out of YOUR vehicle!' - appreciate these fun days and special experiences when life goes hard on ya. and thanks for sharing.
That was a ginormous haul... What you do with all your hives? Do you keep the honey or sell it? What about the wax? Do you sell it as beeswax, make candles or just keep it for future frames? Potential future beekeeper bzzzzzzzzzz
This was awesome to watch! I just recently watched the capture you did last year at what seemed like this same location. Look at you adapt and overcome!!!
I gotta say, I am impressed! I have spent this winter so far building swarm traps. I am hoping to get a few in the spring. Between swarms and splits, I hope to be up to about 35 hives by late spring. You guys created almost that many in one day! Incredible!
Hoping to. I just retired and need a supplemental income. I plan on selling honey at local farmers markets etc. It looked like you guys have a huge number of hives in the background of the video. What's with all those hives?
It's an amazing video . The Bee 1 bomber . With that many large swarms it may pay to sett up a number of swarm catching boxes before the season starts , would save some work .
you need to tell me how to be a beekeeper at the age of 13 because i really want to i just got a full body bee suit and leather gloves with a full gauntlet make a video on how to bee a beekeeper get it bee and be :D

Lost bees without a leader, and queens without subjects; you're building little kingdoms! XD

Truly fantastic, never get tired of seeing videos like this. Bees are truly one of the miracles of nature.
WOW. That was impressive. I think that might have been the biggest swarm capture I have ever seen, and probably will ever see!

Honey bees and the like are great.....wasps and hornets though?...they can die by fire because they're dicks....lol

Straight out of my nightmares. couldn't you suspend a tarp on heavy poles with a hole in the middle to have them funnel into a specific location?
Would that make it less frightening? ;)

Kai Stümer I mean, for a regular swarm, yeah, but I’m not sure that this amount of swarm would fit into an 8” funnel.

deepbeeps They belong to Bauer Honey. Big producer.
So how would you get these bees mad? And go on a stinging frenzy? It kinda looks like the bees don't get upset at all?
You don't get stung by attacking bees.
Most of them think you are a giant object or flower. That's why they are attracted to you
When near a horde of bees, it is always best to stay calm.
I've watched this three times now and it's the best you've posted. Bees are very social. They just want a place to live.
+grayswandir47 They are very social. It's interesting how they band together when displaced.
