After 1 years of research and 3 months of searching in 2022. I got my Series.White. Still love it, the lack of refinement is my favorite part. Up graded to '15-'17 STI forge BBS and had them powder coated in bronze. Looks stunning
The thing I love about Subaru is they don’t build cars pretending to be something they’re not, like other cars in this class that are luxury wannabes. It isn’t over engineered under the hood or inside the car. Yes it’s got modern comforts, but it is very much an old school “Fast & Furious” car at its core. Tried and true boxer engine, still consumes/burns oil as it ages…that’s the nature of it, it’s a Subaru. It’s got the same quirky Subaru powerband. You have to bond with the car to really get used to it. Overall driver focused, excellent handling, quick and fun little cars to drive. Not the fastest car, but probably the most fun to drive. Last of a dying breed

@@Dsole1217 @franz v sorry guys, just noticed the question - handles and steers extremely well - more than enough power - character filled engine (good and bad) - outdated subpar infotainment - weak/flimsy clutch - unusually difficult to drive manual, partially because of the clutch and partially because of the engine with all its turbo lag and rev-hang - VERY aggressive first gear - pretty bad on gas, relatively speaking. Similar sport compact turbo-4s are much better - excellent awd for the price. I wish it had a decent rear diff but it doesn’t - great that it doesn’t have a staggered wheel setup - don’t get the recall seats. Cloth or standard leather is much better - I had the top trim, but because of that tough clutch/rev hang, literally couldn’t drive it with the stereo on because I needed sound of the engine to shift it smoothly
@@franzv3172 Here's another one, These engines will almost certainly consume/burn oil as they age. But, that's the nature of it. Its a Subaru. Oil consumption is normal, its in the owners manual. Some do it less than others. But for the money, you'll have the most fun, best handling, safest car in this class.
As much as I like these cars, that's the reason I won't buy one. I heard the rev hang in them is terrible and I drive an Si that had terrible rev hang and it drove me nuts in my Si until I disabled it. That would drive me absolutely bonkers if I bought one of these cars. I can't stand driving a car that has it.
Skip the special edition, or the pricing will always seem terrible. You can get a top trim with the Harmon Kardon - 4-10k miles and pick one up for less than 30k, basically a new car
If those are the only things you judge it on, sure. This has decent practicality, AWD, and a manual, unlike any of its similarly priced competitors. Personally, this is the only car in my price range that checks all the boxes as my only car.

WRX isn't for the people that want the latest and the greatest. But, it works as a whole.

Really enjoying the videos. Keep 'em coming.
Getting a little bored of my ‘18 Accord sport 1.5t manual. I think I need to go test drive a WRX!

I'ts amazing* It's overprized, and it's the best*
It wines like a charger hellcat. You should review the Toyota Avalon TRD :) keep up the good work!
Lucky for you my man, they have one coming soon!
to me AWD and safety is the selling point of this sports sedan
I own an 18. The car has SO many flaws, but it’s still such an amazing package. Love mine
@@sshah2545 can you name the flaws ?
@@sshah2545 yes, could you please elaborate?? Looking at getting one.

If they put it in a hatchback I would give it serious consideration I got to go with the Civic sport touring manual.
22 Civic SI or used WRX? Would consider the GTI, but it gets terrible reliability scores.
How dare you call my little unrefined car, unrefined?
Is this car worth buying as for reliability, quality and performance?
Just do cosmetic mods only and you should be fine as far as reliability
I can't stand that goddamn rev hang! Subaru? You can do better than that!

JEEZ 35k+ for MSRP with SH*T speakers... this car is only great CPO or slightly used... also the ride is BONE JARRING ROUGH
