Thankyou ! Just one day of hand feeding and my mouthy puppy is transformed into a pup who now has respect and control. Learned the sit command in a few minutes. Amazing
So true! No one talks about bite inhibition!! Once again, so glad I found your channel!….and as for a name for the segment: “Insta-Answers” will do just fine 😂😂
Super helpful, getting our puppy soon and she is very 'bitey' at the moment (only 7 weeks old) so am learning as much as possible so I can be a good, responsible dog owner.
Love the last point about redirection isn't always the answer. I yelp and say no when my puppy (9wks) hurts me and he stops and licks me now asif to say sorry 😂If it carrys on I go sit on the couch and he will take himself to bed after a cry. So I hope we haven't got much longer to go with the teething problems 😂🤞🤞 Can't wait to watch more videos and learn more especially for our first walkies!!
Thank you for this, it really makes sense. Our 9 week old beagle puppy seems to be madly teething and he nipped my 5 year old daughters feet quite hard, so she has been a bit scared since.
aw bless her! maybe encourage your daughter to pop treats in the palm of her hand for the puppy so that she can build a little confidence! provide as many outlets as you can for your puppies energy so that pup is calmer around your daughter
Just think of it this way… anything to break the puppy creating that habit.. e.g scatter treats on the floor/bounce a ball in front of the pup/literally anything to redirect the behaviour and prevent this bad new habit from becoming a regular occurrence.. away from that make sure the pup is doing enough during the day to be calm
I am having an issue. Say he just wakes up from a nap. I start playing with him and trying to get him to play with his toys. But then he just starts biting my hands or some part of my body instead of his toys, and then I tell him ouch or no, but he just starts growling or barking instead of stopping. What do I do?
What want you to do is hold his collar with your left hand and tease the pup with the toy in your right hand and only release the collar when he is fixated on the toy! Using a ball would be good as well.. if you start bouncing a ball in front of him it will definitely distract then throw the ball a couple of feet away so he chases the ball! Then get a different ball and repeat!
I have an older dog that my 10 week old puppy gets over excited with. She is an older dog although a very large dog(newfi) she is very gentle and does react aggressively but I want the puppy to realize he can’t just go crazy on her because she is docile. How do I curb this behaviour? So far, if it goes on too long and I sense my older dog is getting stressed I put the puppy outside for a few minutes until he calms down but what type of verbal command can I use with him to get him to chill?
My 9 week german shepherd is really biting my hands, arms, and chasing my feet and ankles to bite when I'm walking.. it really hurts! I try pulling away and saying no but she doesn't stop. She has bit my 3 year old a few times now and chases her too when she is running about. I know she is playing but nothing is helping her to stop biting so hard 🥺
You need to build drive! Go to my Instagram which is the same handle Sals my TH-cam and watch my IGTV video on building drive! That will help you LOADS!
This part is the worst. My 10 week old girl has this bad. She has nipped the children and noone likes it. She'll stop only for a sec sometimes and aim for a different area
You are marvelous! Thank you!😊

@@TheCanineCoachDogTraining thank you very much! Your training videos are the best, and so much useful information
And yes, she is much more confident with him now and she loves him to bits anyway. I dedicate some time every day to play and training. Thank you
How can I stop my working cocker puppy from howling when in the crate pls
With biting inhibition, what do you recommend doing if you walk away from the puppy and then they just move on to biting your feet ankles?

Reward with a toy or a ball! Or even affection works with some dogs! :)

Having really bad puppy biting alway redirect to toy but still really hurts
What can I do if my puppy doesn’t play with any of his toys?

What if your puppy is a German Shepherd Dog or a Belgian Malinois and they don't understand English, only German or Flemish?
hahaha try Spanish ;) all dogs understand body language.. use that as your mother tongue!
