    Things I thought the episode did well:
    - I’ve been a fan of Manny Jacinto (Qimir) since The Good Place and I’m happy whenever I see him in other projects. As is, he’s easily one of the best characters/actors on the show.
    - Sol vs Mae was another fun fight, and I like how effortlessly he handles her for most of the confrontation. It's satisfying considering how annoying her character is.
    - The Jedi Outpost idea from the High Republic books/comics is one I liked because it was a good way to show that at one point the Jedi Order was closer and more constant presence across the Galaxy (not just the Core) and in the lives the members of the Republic they’re supposed to serve. But this outpost’s staff being bad at their job is consistent with the show’s theme that the Jedi are starting to get complacent and slides towards their reduced influence/capabilities/being standoffish with normal citizens and seeing the spread of unsavory elements in the Galaxy come the Prequel Trilogy/Clone Wars.

    The cancellation of the show is due to how intensely vehement (towards the show) were its haters. And not because the show didn't have a massive support...
    I really loved the show (and I really am not alone to feel that way ; many people did), especially the whole experience of it, the way it expands the lore and explores certain specific themes... Some of the episodes truly are deep and/or powerful on various levels... It has some iconic moments.
    Sure it's not perfect (btw, nothing and nobody is), but I sincerely think that it brings a lot of diverse new stuffs to the Star Wars shared cinematic universe...
    I respect people who didn't like it, because : different people, different strokes. But for some reason I haven't met any hater of the show who respected me or anyone who loves the show ; insulting our intelligence as if you automatically have to be brainless in order to find this series interesting and valuable...
    I think that the story presented in the series has a lot of sensibility in the way it is treated and told, and that it subtly shows fascinating sides/aspects of the force and of the Star Wars universe... A different take/approach about something we think we know, but in fact there always are different ways to look at things and develop stories to delve into.

      if the show had massive support it would've gotten views, made money and been renewed. most people who watched the show quickly realized how poor the writing and characterization were and tuned out of watching it, and you can't blame em. bad reviews did not kill the show, bad writing did.

      @@skultson You came up with your opinions as if they were facts... I did not even have to read your comment in order to know in what direction it was gonna go. 😉 You talk as if the extreme majority of people think the exact same way as you do, but... It's not the case.
      There obviously are many people who hated it. But, sorry in advance (because you don't want to hear that and are in complete deny of that, because you are totally unable to imagine that it is the case) : many people loved the show.
      And what's always extremely funny with people hating of the screenwriting and/or the dialogs, is that 99% of the people who do that, are unable to write a text of at least a couple of pages, but for some reason they are able to point out the fact that the writing is really really poor. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
      And LOL, these weaknesses that you point out, are very much subjective ^^ but for some reason you don't give the same critical treatment and don't find the slightest weakness in AND0R, because it doesn't make you look smart if you talk negativity about it. 😂😂😂 Even if the pace of it drags a story on 12 episodes when it could have been wrapped in 7 to 10 episodes maximum.

      @@CarlLepeltier my opinion? ok lol, the show had the LOWEST VIEWS OF ANY STAR WARS SHOW, that isn't an opinion it's a FACT and if you look at the views by episode people quickly dropped off the show after the first few episodes. you can deny FACTS if you want but it doesn't change REALITY. also Andor was good but i agree it could've been shorter, but unlike acolyte it's getting a season 2 because more people actually liked it. :)

    I was one of the few who weren't already calling it bad after those two episodes. I found it stupid to already hate it. It was until episode 5 that I didn't give up hope. Torbin, a Jedi, killing himself, is definitely the biggest red flag about the show so far. But just with every other mystery the show built up I was willing to wait how they explain all of it, including how bad the thing Torbin did must have been. I'm interested to see what you think about his reason, and if it aligns with my opinion

    I haven't watched the show so these reactions will be my way of "watching" it since it'll be mostly highlights
    Before anyone hops onto assumptions- I didn't watch it because I needed a break from these Marvel and Star Wars shows for a bit and as I went to give it a try it was getting it's review bombs so I didn't bother.
    I wish Disney Star Wars was better but I don't hate it;
    Force Awakens = safe but solid start
    Rogue One = great
    Last Jedi = the opening scene just didn't feel right and then the rest started the dumpster fire
    Solo = I find very underrated even if it "wasn't needed"
    Rise of Skywalker = working with the poor writing you were given and no Anakin made me wanna find a youngling
    Mando = 1&2 are great, 3 is poodoo
    Clone Wars finale and BB = great
    Andor = great
    BoBF = coulda been better
    Kenobi = had parts I didn't like but I didn't hate the show
    Definitely missing something but these r my opinions and sorry for the length if anyone reads

    BOBF's possible second season got the same treatment, as far as everyone knows. Neither were officially axed by Lucasfilm or the mouse, though. There was also similar insider info about Andor being initially planned for five seasons, but it got cut down to three seasons after the production of the first one wrapped, and then finally down to just two after its airing due to low viewership.

    This is where the show really started to lose me. While the fight was fun there were a lot of head scratching. Torbins timeline dosen't make sense (you'll see later), there's not a good enough reason for him to take the poison given. Why did sue need to break in when she can come and go as she pleases via the skylight? If the Jedi sensed someone came there why didnt they secure the skylight? "How the F did she get here first?" Exactly, if they thought him in danger why did they take the long way. They have alot of head scratching parts that feel like they weren't paying attention to details and takes me out of it.
    I do apprentice the talk about not thinking she was still so angry.
    They want you to feel like the Jedi did some shit.
    "There's alot of stuff that doesn't add up." Most of it never does.

    Primate, just remember this with this show. When the trailer dropped to give us a sneak peak, when it got its for 100K likes, it also had 600K dislikes. Because by then it was known that the show creator was a lesbian and people were literally complaining in the comment section that the actors/actresses were DEI hires and that Disney hates white people. As you may notice that most of the hires are people of color and that unfortunately bothers a certain group of people.
    Before it aired its first episode, people were already determined to hate it. It's a shame that politics now dominates everywhere you go in 2024; sports, entertainment, etc. That wasn't the case a decade ago. I'd argue that if this show came out in 2014 rather than 2024, it would have been much more well received.
    I'm glad you're watching the series. It actually does connect to Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Those are spoilers right now, but when you finally see those moments, we'll be there to fill you in, in case you need it. 😀
