@@Grinch-Sama You’re lucky that you don’t notice the difference. I just went from the 27 inch LG OLED to 32 inch QD OLED and noticed a difference with colors and really noticeable when you put a white screen on both displays side by side

Doesn't take much to pick up reflections on a Glossy display and can often end up looking worse than matte. If you live a dark very light controlled room, sure go glossy.
The flickering won't go anywhere even with an official driver support, I mean just look at the 27GR95QE. Doesn't matter if you use DP with certified G-Sync support or HDMI with HDMI forum VRR. I honestly have no idea how these get certified as G-Sync compatible.
I had the 2023 27 and 45'' version with no flickering try a different hdmi/ displayport cable if you still experience flickering also updating your monitor firmware
@@ployth9000 thats impossible, every oled has this issue with working vrr, even the first oled with the gsync module hardware had this issue. thats just how oled works and u wont be able to fix this in a long time just like it used to happen on fast TN panels, if the panel is too fast then it will happen no matter what
@@ployth9000Thanks for the comment but it really doesn't matter. If you check the VRR/G-Sync setting (depends what cable you have plugged) even LG says that it will happen in certain gaming conditions. I bought mine in December and it came with the latest firmware.
The only time when where i would even think about vrr on the lgoled is when you have perfectly stable frametimes. But for example in rocket league the second i open a menu i get insane flickering.

Curve on a glossy screen can sometimes help with reflections. For example when you have a window on the side, but if you do have direct light behind you it looks terrible.

I've got a 4 year old 2ms, 144hz IPS LG 34" ultrawide. I play a lot of fast paced shooters - I just love ultrawides. Do you think the refresh rate and 240hz is a big enough jump or should I be waiting for 360hz ultrawide. It seems OLED is a lot better for response time.
Don't listen to the reply abt 144hz if ur eyes aren't complete garbage u can notice the difference from 144 to 240 its small but there the ms response time is what matters most for blur this thing has 0.3 wich is crazy gooof
Wish they would offer a stand like this ones for my "old" 34gn850p-b monitor. It's darn big V-shaped stand takes so much place off my desk, i can barely place my DAC and AMP beside it. C-Clamp Vesa Mount is also not possible due to the cable Management Tunnels.
I wish you would do some close-ups of the coating. I returned the Asus version because the coding was so bad. You can’t look at any sunset or sky without seeing horrible, oily, rainbow grain. Ruined the entire experience for me.

unfortunately all OLEDs have the same problem they are damn expensive i don't know why e.g. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG34WCDM 34 costs ~1400€ but the IPS variant ASUS ROG Strix XG349C ~900€ that's 500€ difference for almost the same size, resolution same features G-Sync etc.. I would get an OLED ultrawide 34" for Star Citizen, the PG34WCDM 34 should have the essere black, which wouldn't be bad for a space game. But ~1400€ I don't know if it's worth it. I still have 27" IPS and it should already be G-Sync compatible

If you want to reduce reflections aka glare on a monitor, you should NOT buy one with a matt screen. A matt surface acts like a diffusor, not only spreading the reflection over a larger portion of the screen, which can reduce contrast on the contaminated areas, but also reducing the sharpness aka reducing the quality.
You can perfectly see this at 0:54 with the softer and blured reflection of the lightsource. In a non-matt reflection this would have bin a cleener and less anoying distracting.
I have this monitor and 3070ti and its actually great but i want to hit 200+ frames in alot of the FPS i play. I dont have 4090 money but would like to upgrade my GPU. Hard to find 4070ti super benchmarks with 3440

Can you please make a video on this comparing 4k content on a 2k/3k monitor vs a 1080p monitor to see if there is any difference? I have a theory that 4k content looks better on a 1080p monitor than a 1440p monitor, due to simpler scaling factor.
@@Alfie0001 pretty low. It should be at least 120 or higher. My 27” 4K Benq Mobiuz has 163 PPI. You can’t even see the pixels on lower resolutions. It is crispy cleaner.

@marcelstrock I don't know I'm bad at noticing that the only time I noticed any flickering is on the menu when the menu is black but it's minor.the monitor itself is amazing I play a huge range of games and it's amazing on everything.i also play cod and it feels unreal how responsive it is.

@@wizardd no I haven't tried connecting the LG monitor to another PC but I have connected a different Asus monitor to my same PC and I'm able to turn on HDR. It looked terrible but I was able to activate it nonetheless. I haven't been able to find anything on Reddit pertaining to this monitor specifically and this issue

After using a glossy display, I’m surprised you guys still consider a Matte coating display.
My mancave is dimly lit all the time so I can't really tell a difference wit matte or glossy when the lights are off.

Mistake in the graph at 4:40. You used Peak Brightness Low label for both Peak Brightness Low and High.

I understand the need for an aggressive curve but I wish they made it a bit shallower like around a 1000r curve.

Your not going to benefit much going over 144hz, that's not the reason why you would want to upgrade.

no, integer scaling is only important for sprite based and/or pixel artwork, 1440p provides more detail when downscaled 4ķ content is displayed

have you tried a diff windows install/pc? try another pc or reinstall windows and see if the other build lets you enable hdr (w10 onwards)
