    I think these 2 videos go a long way to explaining the error codes in BMWs which a mechanic is never going to string together with an electronic fault. And just removing and replacing the large connector is a WORK AROUND which if it works is destined to fail again. So well done .

    Great instructional videos on ABS module operation and diagnosis. My question is, if you cut the plastic cover off then how do you ever re-use the module if it tests good? Seems like this is destructive testing? Good to know if you're just interested to see where your old module failed but not useful for actual repair correct?

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, of course we seal the cover back on, unless what’s the whole point of testing the unit? So, we must be very precise when removing the cover, then we seal it back on.

    Excellent video. What about when a component is faulty. I have an abs error code indicating a wheel speed sensor problem but everything is fine. The problem is probably within the abs module. The question is which faulty component of the module will keep the brakes locked on one side only when the abs light is lit and the brake pedal not depressed?

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, that problem could be coming from the ABS valves, but you need to check the brake caliper as well, sometimes brake piston or sliding pin is sticky.

      Can the ABS module can be damaged if the wire harness cause a short because of a shafted wire connecting to the ground? Or the module is protected somehow in these situations.

    Great job on the videos👍🏻! Curious why the diode in the mosfet that bypasses the gate doesn’t keep the load on continuously? If the source is + and the diode is forward biased and it goes to the drain, wouldn’t the current flow through the diode and to the load continuously?

    hello what an explanatory video are you giving me the courage to do it too, I tell you that I have a 2008 jeep grand cherokee with a similar module I have the DTC C2200 the only thing I have seen with the scanner is that the valve feed oscillates between 5 and 10 volts before the DTC appears when starting the vehicle and exceeding it of 15 miles the lights come on and in the scanner the valve feed is It's still at 5 volts, do you think I could fix it if I open it? 🤔

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, thanks for your comment. This code is due to an internal failure on ABS Module, Sometimes it could be something we can find by checking all connections in the ABS module, but sometimes is coming from the main microprocessor which is hard to repair. So basically there could be different possible causes for each different case, and we can only be sure after inspecting the module carefully and thoroughly.

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think that's ABS fault, if it is, it shows itself when you do the bleeding. Pedal is low, but how you feel the pedal?

    • @leethomas9198
      @leethomas9198 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The low pedal position could be the end of the rod connected to brake pedal. Most Fords have an adjustable screw on end. I think it is a 7mm and you can lengthen it to cause pedal to react quicker.

    Hey how is it going ? My abs module doesn’t communicate with the rest of the modules i installed another one and it communicates my question is on the module that’s bad what can I check for no communication issues? I have power on pin 7 and pin 12 and 13 for can bus are good might this be a microprocessor problem ?

      Hi there, it could be a microprocessor problem, but for checking the electronic board before that, we can check the connection between those power pins and board ( check for the proper solder connections), it must be checked for the ground connections too.

    Hi
    I live in dubai.
    Here mechanics wants to rip me off and they don't even guarantee my abs problem will be solved or not.
    One of them has already wasted my money on all four abs sensors.
    So I decided to do it my self. I
    Have a electric and electronic technical knowledge.
    I wanted to ask you a question. Obd shows 3 sensors fault and one doesn't show at all.
    Wiring is ok. So fault is in circuit of module.
    Could it be loose pins? Or some software issue.

    • @AutomotiveDiagnosis
      @AutomotiveDiagnosis  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mi friend. Normally when there are multiple faults, we don't go for changing all of those parts that are giving the faults. It does not make any sense to have all wheel speed sensor broken together! For fixing this problem we normally start by checking the connector and wiring on ABS module. Most of the time cause is there. But of course it could be internal fault inside the ABS module too, maybe broken solder on ABS electrical board.

      Thanks for reply. I have checked the cables my self now from sensors to connector. They are fine.
      Now I think it's abs internal fault I open and check.
      Thanks a lot.

      Hi there, I didn’t quite get it. You mean ABS doesn’t communicate with scan tool or it doesn’t work with other control units?

    • @rogerbsp1
      @rogerbsp1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AutomotiveDiagnosis I was trying to connect the scanner directly to the abs module, but the communication was not working. I even tried with a 120 ohm resistor between the CAN H and CAN L lines, but it still didn't work. So I connected the injection module to the CAN H and CAN L line and this time I managed to communicate with the scanner.

    Great info. I have a 2013 Ducati Multistrada with bosch abs. I get a random """abs pressure sensor fault.: C1006, C1007""". Totally random sometimes not for hundreds of miles other times every 25? The fault resets when ignition is off / on. I have bled and flushed both front and rear many times with quality brake fluid. Abs operates when not faulted. When faulted the brakes are fine except no abs function. Ideas please. Thinking of pulling the module and checking solder joints. It seems like a bad connection due to the intermittent occurrence of the fault. Anyone having pressure errors faults ? All info I get is to replace module. Thanks in Advance. Cheers

      @@geodirecoes2778 When there is no communication, it could be power supply, ground or CAN-Bus problem. It's better to start from Power supply on ABS module, normally there are 2~3 power supply, one is for ABS motor, one is for ABS valves and the last one is for ABS control module, the last one is very important for the communication. If power is okay, find the pins for ground and inspect them. ABS connector also must be carefully checked for any dirt, moisture or looseness.
