    SNOWFALL SEASON 6 EPISODE 10 SEASON FINALE BREAKDOWN,RECAP, & Easter Eggs! Snowfall season 6 episode 10 recap: Franklin plummets to disaster In desperate need of cash, Franklin goes to Leon (Isaiah John) in the projects. Franklin asks his best friend how much money he has, and Leon tells him he has $3 million. The former promises that if Leon gives him the whole amount, Franklin will make him a partner in the Spring Street development property. Once Franklin is back on his feet, he'll pay Leon back "five to 10 times" more. Leon turns his friend down, arguing Cissy (Michael Hyatt) sacrificed her life to give Franklin something and Leon won't disrespect that.
    In a Teddy-style rant, Franklin states he alone is the reason Leon even has money. With a gun in his hand, he demands Leon give him the money or he's going to take it. Leon's men appear behind Franklin. Realizing he’s outmatched, Franklin leaves.
    Later, Leon assures Wanda (Gail Bean) Franklin won't come after him again. But Wanda still drops the bombshell that she's buying a one-way ticket to Ghana. At first, he doesn’t express any plans to go with her.
    It's not until a visit with Cissy in jail that he's convinced to leave town. Cissy explains one of her greatest tragedies in life was losing Franklin, but one of her greatest surprises was Leon. Cissy encourages him to go be with Wanda, and to find out who he really wants to be in life so he can come back one day and properly atone for his mistakes
    At Cissy's home, Franklin is trying to regroup when real estate tycoon Paul Davis (Steven Williams) shows up offering to buy Franklin out of the Spring Street development deal. Paul informs Franklin that Veronique (Devyn Tyler) reached out about the idea. Franklin quickly explains to Paul he was misinformed, he's not selling his stake.
    Franklin goes to confront his pregnant girlfriend about going behind his back. With his hands around Veronique's neck, he cautions her from ever taking such action again. He explains Spring Street will continue to be funded, as he's sold all the South Central properties to his mom's former boss, Arnold Tulfowitz (Mark Harelik). Veronique is not pleased with the news.
    Later when Franklin goes to the bank to get a credit line and make a withdrawal, he learns that Veronique emptied most of the account, taking roughly $800,000, before leaving town. #snowfall #snowfallfx #snowfallending

      Far from what I predicted..but I like that Snowfall didn't repeat occurrences i.e Franklin and Louie ain't get shot again and Wanda stayed clean. Great ending and cautionary tale. Only thing wrong is I would have liked to see Parissa,before leaving, take out Julia(with twist being Teddy's son and her pregnancy were both actually by Havemeyer)

    I found it funny how Franklin laughed at finding only $12K in the safe because that's the same amount that Avi told him to bring him back in S1E1 after flipping that first key; it shows how far he rose up to consider that to be nothing and how far he fell not to look at that as an opportunity for another come up.

    SNOWFALL - snow forms when crystals form together in the sky. The weight of them together is what makes the snow fall. Snow, obviously referencing crack cocaine, is also a metaphor for success, and being at the top of the world. Franklin formed his crew and family together, and the weight of their success, individual problems, demons, and greed, is what made the snow fall down to the ground. For six seasons, we really watched snow form and fall. BRILLIANT SHOW

    Let’s not overlook the fact that LEON also looked like O.G. UNC with his Gheri Curl Fro and goatee, which I think reflected his O.G. Status and the promise that Jerome presented (for turning his life back around from Hard Crime and Hurting The Community) at the end of his life as he lamented his former change for the dark side. Here, Leon epitomized the best of Alton and Jerome combined in service to the neighborhood. Big ups to the writers and these actors. I was in L.A. during that time, and the energy of the closing scenes was palpable.

      It’s implied that Leon looked up to Jerome as a Father figure just like how Jerome saw Franklin as his own son. Later to slap him in anger for sending shots at him then later on I think in the last interaction between Leon and Jerome, Jerome tells Leon “you ain’t family” and you could tell this hurt him a lot. So it makes sense for Leon to take after him as a Man.

    If you noticed it wasn't Franklin's pride that hurt him until the end, it was the people around him. Jerome and Louie had too much pride and wanted to take over for awhile but Franklin was too good. Now when they finally had leverage they took advantage. Sissy had so much pride in making Tedsy pay that she couldn't wait 10 more seconds to get her son back in the legal game they worked so hard for. Leon didn't have pride issues but he wasn't going to give all of his money to Franklin either. Teddy's pride is a big reason why he took Franklin's money and told him he would only give back half. Veronique had pride thinking to sell the stake instead of talking to Franklin about it 1st. She automatically assumed her way was the best way and didn't think that what Franklin did would work. Pride wasn't just with Franklin, it was strong in those around him.

Veronique is literally a business woman… that’s literally her field of play. Franklin might have built that building but she was the brain that was helping him keep it going. Was she wrong for doing it without his consent? Absolutely. But that’s how confident she was in her skills and I believe her because unlike Franklin, she was level headed the entire situation and cared for only Franklin and their kid.

    I want to add to the scene with Franklin and Cissy's last encounter. He flipped out on her the same way he did in S2Ep10, when he went down for that murder charge after shooting Kevin. But in Season 2, instead of yelling at Cissy, he was showing his frustration towards Alton. Showing how furious he was at his father trying to FINALLY give him some fatherly advice after his lack of fatherly deeds in his childhood. This scene was so sad and brilliant because it toys with many opposites. Instead of Franklin behind bars, it's Cissy. (S2) Franklin snapped on Alton because he wanted to be a father at the wrong time and too late (S6Ep10) Franklin snapped on Cissy because she no longer wanted to be a mother at a time when he thought she should help the most/reconcile the mess she made. Also, instead of Franklin being dragged by two or three cops and escorted back into his cell (S2Ep10), he in (S6Ep10) is being dragged and escorted out of the jail.
    This scene was played very well, Damson shows the exact same charisma/anger as he did in Season 2, episode 10. Run back both of these scenes, and you'll see exactly what top tier acting looks like.

    Franklin's biggest issue to me was not that he was prideful but that he was emotionally reactionary( He laid down his pride on multiple occasions). The ceiling for his emotions was not high and the pressures of leadership crushed him. If you go back to almost every conversation where he explodes or gets disrespectful (with the exception of the last season) he usually takes two shots to the chin before responding in a harsh way that we see, which doesn't seem to be his initial thinking pattern based on his body language. Damson's facial patterns( the head leaning to one side, the slight twitch in his face, and twitchy smile) and body language say to me that most of his worse reactions were the product of mounting pressures, him reacting and trying to hit back harder.
    Every other character had their own motivations, which were almost always not aligned with the betterment of the collective. Franklin sought out ways to build himself up and wanted to bring others along with him. Just think if Louie, Jerome, and Leon invested in the downtown business at the beginning of season 5 if things would've turned out how they did? In the end, Franklin clung to his pride because everyone else that he tried to help turned on him and that was all he had left. It's not easy for someone to have a plan and people they love constantly act to upend your plans. The money was a drug that calmed his nerves and when that was gone Franklin became unhinged. The pressure popped him. In the end, Franklin destroyed his community and countless others with the help of his family and they destroyed him.

      I don't think many viewers truly understood the actual scale of the Spring Street property. It was to be a skyscraper that would have taken tens of millions of dollars and years to finish. Leon's $3 million would have done nothing but postpone the inevitable, and seeing how delusional Franklin was about that property, Franklin would have let Leon lose all of his money in foreclosure rather than selling.

    The popular thing now is to say Franklin deserved what he got... but nah it wasn't that he was greedy, he was just trying to get back what was stolen from him.. before that he lived a pretty modest life for a man with over 78million (gotta remember preaches stole 5mill before teddy stole the 73million)... For most of the series Franklin still stayed in the hood (or close) and was wearing his regular jeans/slacks with his members only jacket. Yeah he had a plane but it was practical... other than that he lived pretty modestand made investments and saved (which led him to having 73million) he wasn't greedy at all..he wasn't taxin on the brick and he put everybody on and everybody was rich...he just wanted what was his... it's crazy to think someone is gonna take gettin got for 73million (in the 80s) and not do nothin or feel no type of way after you've had to (accidentally) kill kevin, go to jail and get your ass beat, your hs sweetheart get strung out, have to kill her dad because he was gettin dirty and too close, get shot multiple times by her, have to rehab yourself back to health,go to war with skully, then man boy, then kadeja, because you wouldn't give up Leon, then Kane, have to kill your friend because he became a liability, get 5million stolen by your security, your dad get killed by your plug, fall out with your aunt and uncle because LOUIE was greedy,and after allllll that have this white man take ALLLL your money would make that all had been for Nothin. Teddy started it Louie Stoked it and Cissy selfishly solidified his fait. Cissy didn't kill Teddy to save Franklin because she coulda been did that when they had him tied up... the beginning of the season she was with Franklin gettin back at teddy and Louie for crossing him... Franklin stayed true to his mission. Cissy and everybody else kept flip flopping on what they wanted to do and how they felt... sissy wanted to feel a tone and be a martyr and selfishly put her son back at square zero again... Franklin was going to get his money get out of the game like he intended and focus on his real estate developments... he wasn't being greedy for money , he was staying true to his end goal plan.. yeah this is long but it's just irritating keep hearing the narrative that Franklin was greedy over money because people are just surface-level thinking and following popular opinion.

He couldnt get back into the game some how in all that time? Why he ain’t try to go to skully ? Or work his way back but accept he can be the man for now ? It’s pride. His pride is what kept him from getting a regular job. He made a fortune in a short amount of time there was no way he could comfortably go back to being a civilian. Franklin didn't have the tens of millions of dollars it would have taken to finish the project, and Veronique was correct to sound out Mr. Davis about an offer, but Franklin foolishly prioritized the Spring Street property over all of his other properties.

    Damn. Really liked this review, especially what you said toward the end, about Leon and Franklin being two Altons. The series ending, I think, was great and fitting. Happy that Leon, Wanda, Cissy and Oso made it out. Franklin too, all things considered. Hoping that, like Alton, somewhere down the line, Franklin is given an opportunity to turn his life around. But I guess him staying like that could be considered a fitting punishment for what he’s done.

    LA is funny like that, you could have done a lot of dirt in LA and run off to the IE, San Bernardino, Fontana Moreno Valley, Victorville and Monrovia and hide in plain sight. That’s where most people from LA hid out. And now that’s where most of the Black folks live, in Southern California.

    Excellent breakdown! I watched the season finale twice and still didn’t catch all the Easter eggs you mentioned. Although the ending was tragic, it was realistic and masterfully done. Many of the kingpins and o.g.’s of the past, allowed their greed to be their ultimate demise. Many became a slave to the rock they pushed to the community. Franklin just became a slave to the bottle, similar to Alton. This show will go down in history as the best series of all time. 👑💪🏽

    Excellent Review! I really enjoyed this Series, will miss it very much. The ending was perfect not the norm, Franklin did become his Father which gives him a chance to become sober & rebuild his life( with Leon’s help) of course. 😮If he went to prison he probably wouldn’t make it out intact (age) & he didn’t get killed in the end!

  • @dtraversodt
    @dtraversodt ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If Big Deon was in that room when Franklin pullled that gun, Saint probably would be a pack. Two events that could have changed path of series 1.) Cissy and Alton moving from South Central instead of being approached and blackmailed by Irene 2.) Franklin took Teddy to hospital instead of him driving off to see Parissa. Franklin likely would still have 72 million...but Oso probably would have been caught by DEA sooner and crew would have been arrested at wedding

    I have to say, the ending has me still pondering over it nearly a week after it’s conclusion. And still am a little sad by how far our hero fell from the smart kid that had hopes and dreams to the “Town Crazy Drunk”.
    What a snow - every episoide was always so excited to see what John Singletons series would bring us the next week. It was positive even in the most negitive ways - becasuse of the hope.
    Well all the hope was lost at the end and that is how hopeless he was even if he says he was free - hopelessness still reign supreme!!
    It defiantly was not expected the finale making us so sad but how else can you let him off without being punished for the murdered he comitted with his own pistol or the pistols of his gang members on his orders that killed so many. And so many others died smoking the crack that he brought into the community.
    I am overal so happy that I watched this show each and every week it was on FX! And I will never forget the characters or the message - and even though this last episoide was a let down (just wanted Franklin to somehow hold his Son in his arms and be a husband who cared about life). Poor momma

      I don't know why but for some reason I don't think she had a baby. I could be totally wrong. That one episode where she was going into labor and she fell to the ground out of the chair and held her stomach. The next episode when you saw her her stomach wasn't as big as it was before. And remember, Franklin have been in and out for days at a time. I think she lost the baby

    I feel like the overall message of the show was about community and love. The only ones who made it out were the ones willing to sacrifice for the community or the ones they loved. Meanwhile, the ones who were selfish or hurt the community suffered. The major players who died were killed due to the actions of toxic people they believed they could trust. It's as if to say that community and family are important, but surrounding yourself with the right people and knowing when to let go of the wrong people is even more important.

  • @8macvar

    People keep saying Franklin didn't care about his mom while she was in jail and only care abouthis money... I mean right after she shot Teddy he was in shock but he didn't chew her out he said "mama we gotta go, we gotta hlget outta here" .She wanted to stay and be caught. He decision was selfish stupid and impulsive because she had no way of proving what she was accusing the C.I.A of. She didn't record, take notes or pictures if her whole socall plan was to sacrifice herself for Franklin...she was too far gone just as Franklin got AFTER she pull that move on him which pushed him to the edge of desperation. And for ppl saying he was wrong for talking to her like that, she was gaslighting him. You don't pull a study like that and expect a person not to wanna know why you did that. The same way Franklin asked teddy "Why'd you do it, why did you take allll of his money" Him needing to know "Why" came in a close 2nd to him wanting his money back because like Franklin said he thought that him and Teddy were friends and would know each other well after all of this. So when Teddy told him why even though it was a selfish asshole answer Franklin felt he atleast had closure in knowing why teddy did it, which is why Franklin said "OK now we're getting somewhere" because before that teddy wouldn't give him any substantial answers. But Cissy couldn't even have the decency to tell him "I did it because I snapped" , "I didn't believe him" ,"because he killed your father", or even something as silly as "because that money had too much blood behind it". She just sat there staring at him as if she was a mute knowing in turn that silent shit was gonna drive him crazy because at this point he lost all his money and right now all he wants is an answer. And then u keep hanging up on him , well ok you showin me where I stand.. I'm trying to give you grace because you're my mom but anybody else I woulda already chewed them out, so ok ima treat you like some mf on the street cuz that's how you treated me by doin this and now you have the audacity to not speak... many people will say well she asked him "is getting this money or it's not ever speaking to me again will you be okay with that" .. sure he said yes because you're asking him to make a choice right there in the moment where he feels the money is right there so yeah he'll say anything to get you out of his face from trying to change his mind but he didn't really mean that. I'm sure once he got the money he would have still been looking out for his mom and trying to talk to her. But if that was her deal she reneged on that and basically said "fuk it you're not going to get your money and you'll never hear from me" and that was some BS... I feel like if she felt she wasn't never going to talk to him anymore why show up to the visits she has an option to not come. But when Leon comes she knows how to talk and wants to act like Leah's been the same she never had this whole series.. I call that bein fake... yeah she braided his hair that time after Leon killed that little girl and had to hide out but prior to that and even after they wasn't that close. But since she's mad at Franklin and not taking accountability for what she did she wants to act like she's so down for Leon.... I know it's a long read but that woman irritated me and everybody who is going with the narrative that she's the victim LOL

    • @michellehobson9760
      @michellehobson9760 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a long read😂 But I damn sure agree with you about everything, except the closeness of Cissy and Leon. Cissy started to see a change in Lee after he killed Skully's daughter. In her eye's, he became the son she wished she still had. But Cissy's actions pisses me clean off. Idc what nobody say. She had lost it just as she claim Saint did. Hell ..Jerome even saw it. He told Saint, "Cissy done lost her damn mind😂😂😂"

    • @dtraversodt
      @dtraversodt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cissy was too impulsive but with Jerome dead and Alton in Teddy's crossbars, she didn't want to take any chances that Havemeyer and Teddy would kill her and Franklin once transfer went through. A mother's intuition took over explaining why she wanted Leon and Veronique to stay back
