- Snorkels look cool and can help guide cool air into the engine. If used correctly they can even help you cross deeper bodies of water. Maximus 3 is entering the snorkel game with a stylish design that is made to complement the Jeep's natural design while being completely functional. Maximus-3.com
Impress me with 1 that fits for the ecodiesel
Ok…. So basically a B-Grade version of the ‘Rugged Ridge’ snorkel……
More like a good version of the rugged ridge
I thought I was looking at diesel version.
I’d like something like this for my HEMI swapped JK. Need some real airflow and prefer not to cut up my hood.
The mirror flipped image in the beginning got me hopeful it was a diesel version…
Where do I get one?
If it's available it would be on the Maximus-3 website
@JeepSheepTV nothing on their website yet. I just tried the RR snorkel, and it's not for me. Plus, there are a million install videos of the Rugged Ridge, and I want to film something original
Can the circle pre-filter be ran oh these?
Is it available for JKs?
good video, thanks!
sucked the video cut you off. I don't know what engine is in that, but snorkels seem to be very undersized & a severe restriction thereby causing a loss in peak HP & Torque. I would love to have an engineer set me straight on this if I am wrong, but I have seen too many dyno pulls testing the restriction caused by different types of air filters, cans. Even for a 4.0L I6 if you have headers, and are trying to pull as much air through as possible it seems most snorkels are non bueno.
Sadly the only real way to "set you straight" is to test on a dyno. It would be faster and cheaper than dropping a bunch of advanced air flow calculations. If I had to guess, I would assume some benefits in the low end but a possible dip at high RPM. It really comes down to what you want, typically in a Jeep I care way more and low end torque. But my guessing can be wrong too, a dyno test would be fun.
