Yes, it is true I am the owner of this jeep and I got stuck helping out another rig that was also stuck. Luckily his rig got out fairly easy. Mine on the other hand, well I've been stuck a few times in my life BUT nothing like this. Thank goodness Casey was around to help! I've been asked multiple times how hard it was to clean... well it took $30 in quarters to get the big chunks of mud off of the bottom of the jeep. The rest will get professionally detailed Monday to get the rest of it clean!
I want to point out that I offered to pay Casey and he refused to take my money. He simply told me to stay safe and enjoy Sand Hollow! I will be ordering some of his swag and definitely leaving him an awesome review for a job well done! I wanted to thank everyone for their words of encouragement and help. This was a challenging rescue and most of the spectators were helpful!

Great work Casey. Especially when you chose to move the Roddy just in time. What if everyone quit the instant they found the peanut butter under the toast? Anything could pull them out with a 30' kinetic. I've been on dry lake beds where there was just two inches of butter and no way to move. There was no sinking in, yet no movement possible. Once in this situation we had 5 4xs hooked together to pull one out. We were all in 1 to 2 inches of butter; all were in gear idling and slowly we inched to dry land. In butter all things are equal, it doesn't matter the tread design, the tire size or tire psi.

My grandfather taught me to always quit trying to get out on your own at the 1st time all 4 tires spin. So when help gets there your tires will not be under the mud and they can help still. But not everyone learns that ever no matter how many times they get stuck.
So at the 1st sign your in trouble and all 4 wheels are spinning with no forward movement then wait then for help. Or your vehicle will look like this guy's from California, buried so bad you can't open the doors lol.

If you would have just taken the time to dig out the mud behind the jeep and lifted up on the back of the jeep it would have easily come out without the potential damage to the jeep.

So he would have to climb out and back in of the windows, That wouldn't be very effective and besides there was already too many helpers/spectators around shouting advice at the same, enough to confuse everyone with all their different opinions. Sand Hollow Reservoir is uniquely located on a natural Navajo sandstone aquifer with an underground storage capacity in excess of 300,000 acre feet. Approximately 4,500 to 11,000 acre feet seep into this underground storage area annually. 'WHY' people freely choose to drive their 2-1/2 ton Jeeps so close to the water's edge is something I will never understand.

Just because you have a jeep doesn't mean you can't get stuck 😉 Mr Casey has got you covered! 👍👌✌️👏🇺🇲

Need a boom on noddy to pick up on the stuck Jeep or even a tail roll would make it so you could pick the Jeep up

i know deep mud in the area may be new to many out there. its a way of life where i come from. But even having that said. Shovels are one of the 1st things on the requirements list for most all OHV areas. Makes me think with all that out there, all those people. not one had a shovel, or the willingness to jump in. the job got done, most could not pull it off, and even fewer would document it and put themselves out there like you do. i live that life too, and i commend you for it. I do also think, there were a couple of moments where the rear axle about got ripped out from under it, and/or the rear bumper/mounts were about to fail. either would have been a very bad deal.
Go Prepared people! There was some crazy forces at work on that recovery!

I was not interested in shoveling clingy sloppy dirt that was basically water. It was moving around and rolling pushing out of the way. So yes I did have to apply and overcome those force factors, but it was still moving. When I worry is when I apply a force and the vehicle doesn't move at all. This is what ya call "suctioned" I never saw a point in the recovery that this Jeep was "suctioned" I was more worried about a failure when I lifted the vehicle with the winch on the roller and made the Nodwell at 11,000 lbs do a wheel stand. At that moment I could hear the machine, winch line and otherwise talking to me. So I went to plan B. The leverage, traction and applied forces on the rear bumper and Nodwell chasis had things under extreme pressure. A few Kinetic pulls, not too crazy, then plan C. After I moved the vehicle back a few feet it made the front approach easier. If I go into after game quarter backing and my time I had to edit and review videos and watch the replay I can always find an area I could improve on or equipment I could have had with me and used. In retrospect I should have hooked up to the front, used his winch and my winch to winch him right up to my rear roller and drove away. Normally I do this with large 3/4 and 1 ton trucks and it works flawlessly. The front was basically standing peanut butter mud you could barely walk on! Anyway this was where I was at on the scene and my thought process I have during recovery. Thanks for you insight as well.

What if you had a triangular frame at the very rear of the bed to raise that back winch pulley up maybe 3 feet so if you were really close to the stuck vehicle you can get some lifting force as you pull forwards?? Just a thought.
