    Just want to say that your comparison video of this product is the best one I’ve seen. I like the screen wipe/split screen effect comparison better than flipping full screen from composite to HDMI like others do. It really helps to show the difference better. The only thing you missed is using the Gameboy player with it. Maybe you could do a part two with this in mind, along with a 6 month update on how the GCHDMI adapter is holding up.

    Insurrection makes the Carby. It’s $75 and does the same thing. It plugs into only one of the ports instead of both leaving your other port free. It comes with a remote to change settings.

    0:20 I think you mean better "video quality" and "resolutions". The "graphics" are the characters and backgrounds being rendered on screen, they stay the same regardless of what cables you use. Resolution are your pixel dimensions, which can be either interlaced or progressive. And video quality is, well, the quality of how well you can see the graphics on screen.

    I grew up with the GameCube, got it for my birthday back in 2004 and still play it till this day.
    Normally would play smash with my friends but that hardest part is the input lag we get when playing it on 4k TV's (We play competitive) so we can feel the difference and makes it playing very difficult.
    Although this video has really motivated me to go on and buy this console because i will keep using this and would love to pass this on to my children.
    I picked up a Orange Spice GameCube at a garage sale and going to swap the motherboard with a USA 001 Model to get it working with US games or mod it; but would love to have this by its side.
    Thank you!!

    Great video! Though it's worthy to mention that one the main draws of the GCHD (and reason not to use the Wii solution) is the Gameboy Player. I plan to use it extensively for that purpose.

      That is a great point! I don't have a very big collection of Game Boy games, but I should have definitely pointed that out. Thanks for bringing it up!

    Awesome footage. I have noticed the difference between the composite cable and the GCHD adapter by e.o.n.

    The reason why it looks bad with 480i is because the GCHD comes with the “double-lines” in 480i enabled. You need to go into the settings of 480i and disable the double lines. Trust me, get a universal remote go into the GCHD settings then go into the 480i setting. You will see that the double-lines are on and you need to turn them off. Then it will look 10 times better with the games that only display 480i. Trust me

      I figured it out because I was doing a side-by-side comparison of the GCHD compared to my Wii with the HD component cables and I noticed that the GCHD looked horrible with games that were only on 480i compared to the Wii. At that point I knew there was no way that the GCHD could look that bad compared to the Wii so I took my cable remote because that is a Universal and I paired my GCHD to the Aux Device selection of the remote. I soon as I went into the settings and I disabled the double lines from the 480i It immediately cleared right up

      I found leaving it on with scanlines helps for some games. Resident Evil 2 and 3 look much better if you have scanlines turned on.

    Is their a reason why to buy this one instead of the 100$ version that only uses digital output?

    • @SheepHairOG
      @SheepHairOG 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, however, EON is making a second version of this adapter (being released sometime this month) which has both an HDMI and a Wii component/SCART output, plus an analog/digital audio output, all for the same price of $150. If you're purely playing these games at home with the Gamecube plugged into a TV and nothing else, the $100 ZXP cable is good enough. The EON Mk-II is more for professional gaming and live streaming, specifically for competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee.

    You can get GameCube component cables for $200 on eBay. GameCube component still outputs a superior picture to GCHD.

      No it doesn't as has been shown in many videos here on youtube. GCvideo based solutions are superior.

    Do you know any lagless HDMI adapters for Wii? I play smash Bros melee on my Wii but I can tell there's input lag when connected to my hd TV. I would love to find a solution for it.

    • @SeaSlug
      @SeaSlug 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The swell wii 2hdmi + the new mod for melee that gives it less lag than the original game to make up for the new lag added by modern displays

    Better "graphics" or visual quality?

    • @QuestMode
      @QuestMode  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say the graphics actually look better, but some people might disagree. This video is pretty representative of the change, so look closely and I think you'll get a good idea of how it looks.

      A composite to hdmi converter? It's physically impossible that that's the same quality.
