@@russrogers3106 Agreed! The 2.6l platform is just incredible. I wonder though would the regular old carbd 2.6l engines being sold in 3rd world countries be even more reliable than the Pro V?
Yamaha doesn't build a race outboard but if you think that they couldn't.... go watch some motorcycle racing. THe best motors were the 225 EXCEL's from Yamaha but the 150ProVee was virtually indestructible and ran as well as any 150 ever produced.
The 150 Pro V is honestly an amazing outboard!
They are like an anvil with a propeller. You just can't hurt them.

I see Yamaha, and I immediatly agree
😂very good outboard with a jet pump on it
I'm a believer. As they say, there's no school like the old school.
Had an 89 vmax 150 6000 hours never missed a beat only reason I replaced it was salt was not its friend at all
Good Video but... The Mercury Mark 75a Super-Marathon Motor was...and always will be the records prove it. KUTGW
Etec!
Evinrude E-TEC ?? They ain't bad either
They are 100-150#s lighter and less moving parts to wear out
I’m a Merc guy but those Yamahas are damn good AND quiet
Well when I lived in the Canal Zone we had an Orlando Clipper and a 50hp Merc. And it was a tough outboard also.
What is it? ETec is tops
1987 Vpro 150. YAMAHA.
🤣🤣🤣
Not even close to the best…… if it were, everyone on the lake and every professional racer would have one. There’s a reason all those folks run Mercs.
Well..it's not all Yamahas..it's that Yamaha. 1987 ProV 150...Used a 225 block. So it was the best.
@@ddunn3489 as long as it makes you happy. That’s all that really matters

@@ddunn3489 actually the castings were different. The 225 Excel was the 6K7 and the 150 ProVee was a 6k5. Same casting but different sleeves.
