- This is my first time making a tutorial of anything, this is also my first time uploading anything even remotely close to this type of content. I usually dont do commentary type videos becuase, I dont like the way i sound, But i got over it pretty quickly. Im typically really bad at explaining things, so I hope I did a good enough job to get my point across. I had a lot of fun making this and a lot of fun gathering all the clips. Really just any excuse to fight against Radahn. He quickly became my favorite boss in almost all of fromsoft (I haven't played bloodborne) I love everything about this fight, i love that i actually have to use things that i wouldn't normally use in a boss fight, also HIS MUSIC omg Radahn ost is so good, very quickly become one of my top favorites. You say you're not great at explaining things but I'd say the opposite is true. This is the best tutorial I've seen for this boss. Nice work!

The main takeaway is probably to embrace the Deflect Tear and possibly Fine Crucible Feather Talisman (more situational imo), if you want to do it without either of these tools then no-hitting the fight means sacrificing most punishes to reposition. It's a hard truth but it is what it is.
For anyone struggling with the timing on the upheaval after the meteor throw attack, watch for the pillar line spawned by his landing, when those appear that's your cue to dodge. Worked best for me at least to cut through the visual clutter.
Also, if you're using a greatsword or lighter weapon class, as long as you have the stamina to back it up you can squeeze out a lot more damage out of each bread and butter combo with the Deflect Tear. After the overhead, deflect the two swipes at 5:47 and immediately Guard Counter after the second, you should be able to roll out of the way of the next downslam. Probably only viable with Greenburst Crystal Tear / Two-Headed Turtle Talisman.
This is a good vid! I think what people will find especially useful is how to dodge the clone attacks. Most of the other moves one could eventually just learn through trial and error memorizing delays and timing, but the clone ones can be insanely obscure on how to consistently dodge them.

@@Philly._ With the meteor clone attack, I do think you could've explained that you have to be far away enough for his slams to miss you while running. If you are too close, the tracking is too fast, and they will hit you regardless of speed.
Yall just gotta work on learning each combo.. just put the time in and your brain will download thr moveset, with a little luck you can best the boss

That cross clash just completely catches me off guard every damn time. My brain has memorized all of his attacks except that bloody cross slash. I still can’t do a no hit run for him but I can beat him. Just sucks that I can’t go full glass cannon because of how unconfident I am because of that one attack.
yeah that attack is currently still ending my runs for the next no hit im trying to do :(
Yeah, I've only ever dodged it by just parrying it
that slash is the hardest attack to dodge in the game even far worse than waterfowl dance
Without the talisman you have to be at the left of him to dodge it. The problem is, he pulls the attack out faster than it takes to get to his left, so if you aren’t there when he starts the attack there’s nothing you can do. I basically just always try to be at his left whenever I can, and always dodge left. The attack is so dumb
@@Raganlueck Yeah, in order to dodge that move without anything, you have to always be on his left
I've been stuck on this guy for days and days (I have palsy and my coordination is poor). Not no-hitting, just finally killing him. Yours is the best video I've seen explaining how to fight him that I've seen. Can't wait to give your advice a try.

I feel like I can dodge radahn but if my pc will stop lagging and have higher fps I think I’d be good
It goes from 40-30 to 24 fps. It’s like I’m playing a game in stop motion😭

The game just ends. They didn’t let me walk into the gate of divinity. All that work…and yet I was not elevated to a god. I don’t understand….
It seems our goal was to just stop Miquella from achieving his. I do wish you could do a little more, but fromsoft does this with all their DLC's.
I have beaten him solo but have yet to get a no-hit. You did a great job explaining everything. I know the fight really well myself but it is good to see what others are doing and why they are doing it. I was able to pick up a couple nuances that I think will help me. Nice video.

really good guide! do you think this is the hardest boss in the soulsborne history to do no hit consistently once you have mastered it? if no who is harder?
I'm not sure, Radahn is the only boss that I've tried to no hit to the extent that I have, simply because I like the fight so much. I wouldn't say I mastered his fight, but he's probably not the hardest, imo he's pretty straight forward once you learn his moveset and how to counter it.

Coming back to this, I don't think you covered the cross-slash in phase 2. I keep getting hit by the light beams when I backstep, before I can roll again. How do you deal with that?

This fight just feels like it was supposed to be fought in light load. Like second phase just feels ridiculous with med. Like your never able to dodge anything
Yeah, light load is deff safer but me personally I prefer med load its just what im used and I dont like being naked I like to play fashion souls lol
@@Philly._ winged crystal is good option. I found it much easier to dodge his attacks.

Whats neat about it is that I can use it to beat the boss getting a lot of hits cause I'm struggling so hard 😩.
I've seen some dude backstep the grab attack. But I don't have the balls to use the talisman.
yeah the talisman was intimidating for me as well, because i've never back stepped until this point lol
Great guide, praying it helps! I'm on day 3 and progress is painful - basically can now get to phase 2 about half the time before then lasting no more than 30 seconds. This is so tough and I've no hit Malenia.

oh wow i deff forgot to cover that im sorry, but what you want to do with that move like how i said in the first phase jump and keep running back, but when he does the clones he will land on the 5th slam so jump away as he slams and just keep running back. Im sorry i completely forgot that move cause I've seen it like four times lol

At 11:20, you can actually cancel the last part of that spectral dash attack by throwing out a parry the moment you finish dodging into the clone.
It is surprisingly consistent. I think as long as you dodge the first clone attack properly, the frames will line up, so for once, input buffering is a good thing.
The only attack i came here for isnt even shown 😭

Yk what I have noticed watching this you dodge to left when he swings left and dodge right when he swings right alot of the time
yeah I like to be out of the hit box as fast as possible, so i don't get hit with lingering hit boxes

How do you tell the difference between the slam or the twirl combo at the end of the clone slams? They seem to start off the exact same way when he uses it with that move that so I've stopped trying to punish with a light since I'll always get slapped when it ended up being the twirl one when I think he's going to be doing the slam lmao
Watching those two moves over and over again the only difference I can see is at the end of the swing, he'll either raise his swords to go into the slam or keep his swords lower to go into the twirl. Honestly by the time that you see which way his swords are, the window for getting a punish off is already gone. The best advice i can give is to no longer try to punish the slam when it comes from the clone slams. Im sorry I couldn't be more help.
@@Philly._ Yeah thats what I figured 💀 MAYBE if you're cracked enough on that adderall with a fast weapon you could probably get the hit off the moment you recognize which combo it is. I've gotten away a few times being dumb with a delayed punish and just barely dodging out of the way but its far safer to just not punish that :P. Thank you for replying!

Great video. I'm feeling a lot closer to beating them. Throughout Bloodborne and Elden Ring I haven't had so much trouble learning a boss' moves since Orphan of Kos.

I think you should indicate the use of fine crucible talisman for the guide either in the title or thumbnail, since it completely changes the approach to the fight. Basically all of your dodges and punishes end in front so they risk getting cross-slashed without that or the deflection hardtear. I'm not saying that's bad, just would be nice to indicate.
By the way, on the Lion's Claw (front flip) attack. If he does it immediately after a reposition he will not do a second one so you can punish safely. When he does it without repositioning first, it's just a 40% chance iirc. So you should do a rolling attack instead.
Anyhow, great video ^^ cleanly formatted and I'm sure this will be useful to many people.

I encourage the hugging left leg strategy. It can be a lot more fun than it sounds!
since i did my lvl 1 no hit, it was obv lasting more than 5 minutes (thats how long the deflecting hardtear lasts) so in the first phase i ended up having to do the hugging left strat, and once i got more used to it it really wasn't that bad and was actually easier then trying to back step it. I still prefer the tear though
@@Philly._ Yeah my RL 1 +0 blessings run I decided to screw the hard tear and fine crucible and just hug his left leg. It took a LONG time but I adore this fight so it was worth it.

@@Philly._ yeah. On my first playthrough of the dlc i used mimic and backhand blades but i wanted to do it without cheese even though i totally understand it for this boss. This time i used an unsheathe nagakiba but not with a bleed build, just regular damage build and stance pressure. I didnt get a single bleed proc and on most of my attempts not a single stagger since there are so few openings and he recovers his stance. On the attempt where i got it i was fortunate enough to get a stance break and that did massive dmg which is probably what saved me. Im actually looking forward to this boss again now. This boss was the hardest i’ve ever fought yet and took the most time. In total if i add the amount of time it took when i used mimic i spent like 4 hours on him. 3 hours when i didnt use mimic. Which almost double the time it took me to beat malenia without mimic.
@@RamJamDee he also took me a good amount a time before i finally beat him for the first time. His stagger seems to reset really fast, especially in the second phase probably cause he has more attacks that distances himself from you. Again though good stuff, im glad i was able to help.
