This song dropped exactly on the 3rd anniversary of when my younger sister passed away and Atmosphere is one of the direct connections between our hearts, and has been for about 20 years. I'm brought to tears of joy as I listen because I can feel that she's still just as excited about a new Atmosphere single and upcoming album as she was since 'Lemons". Today I'm choosing to believe that the straightforward hook on this song was my personal request for Slug to write for Amy.

I've been thinking about this for a couple days after just recently hearing the song, and you basically hit the nail on the head. This beat is like the embodiment of Atmosphere, and I know that's dramatic, but I think it's real. When I first heard it I was like damn this sounds like Atmosphere, and then it was. I lost my wife on New Year's Eve 2019. Our son was about to turn 10. Our 20-year anniversary was 70 days away. I fell in love again july 4th, 2022. She was amazing, her son was within 4 months of my son's age. She left, but her son always had my back. He called me on Christmas morning that year when things were really ugly for him. I told him his mom would come back. We'd be a family. She came back for Easter of 2023. We got engaged. Went to concerts, out of town, family vacation... she got pregnant. Our son is due 2/12/24. She left. Gone for Halloween, her birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & (my least favorite) New Year's Eve. Kristi, I'm waiting with our son's for you to come home. We miss you. We love you. Been with them since the beginning. Don't listen to their music much anymore but I appreciate that Slug has evolved his message and not continued to make the same tracks about the same stuff he was doing when he was 20. If you're listening (for the most part) each of their albums will tell you exactly where he is in his life and what's important him. This is what keeping it real looks like.

It’s so crazy, I grew up in Los Angeles county. Lived the life of a young tagger with the homies smoking blunts and shit bumping Atmosphere.
Fast forward 15 years, I’m 30, 10 months sober after a 6 year battle with alcoholism, living in Southern Minnesota after attending rehab in Shakopee MN. Fell in love with the music again, fell in love with myself again. I am loving life, bumping Atmosphere in the state where it originated!
