Please don't ever stop showing the details of what you guys do it's much better than a start-and-finish
Agree 100%. On some channels it's the "thing" they make... on others it's the people and the work process & interaction.
Moving along nicely onthis project. It is great to see Hunter and Landon more involved regularly. We'll done Fab Rats!
I have an alternative, you could use Howling Wolf for the paint job, since he's more of a classic car painter than Robby, and he could do with some extra viewers.
I will definitely agree to that
They're lds, they don't do business outside the church if they can avoid it.
And we don't get 500 sanding videos. 😂
Cult, outside the cult.
@@brianblank9921 uhh, that's about as wrong as you can get..
Paul has more "finds of a lifetime" than Antiques Road Show!
This find is definitely a diamond in the rough just like Paul's Firebird both with so much potential. I don't think people realize how rare it is to find a very desirable car like this in such remarkable condition. The chances of anyone getting their hands on an all original unmolested 55 Chevy with all steel panels intact is almost unheard of.
@@IR-nq4qv Thats what i told 'em
They're out there, getting more rare by the day.
Turning the muffler outlet to the side is better because if you set them strait down you would have a dust maker
I have a 55 just like this one sitting in the garage. I went out and got it running because of you guys. Thanks for giving an old guy some gumption!
Paul, Motion Raceworks (Cleetus McFarland is part owner) offers a tight 90° for intake of LS motors so you can run cold air box off to the side. Hope that helps.
Greetings Paul, Fab Rats family, friends, and fans! Have always ❤ red. Classic 55 shows a 1 colors: Gypsy Red either solid or combination. Everyone have a wonderful 7/4/2024! Take care , be safe, and enjoy your life!
I agree Howlin Wolf Garage... Hector would love to do this and his channel needs a million new followers
I really like Hector, but this car deserves better than what Hector is equipped to do. This is a job for Robbie.
Hey Paul, this is Paul from Western Massachusetts. I sent Robby a personal message for you. I told him you know how to build cars but you don’t know how to make them look nice that 55 sure as hell deserves a paint job good work and enjoy your videos, keep it up God bless
I agree Howling Wolf would do an awesome paint job. I know Robby Layton can do it also. Guess it depends on mileage to their shops and which one has time to do it. I would trust either one of them
Hector at Howlin' Wolf is a great guy and all, but his paint jobs don't compare to what Robby's shop can put out. One is a guy in his garage with a spray gun, the other is a top-notch paint and body shop with state of the art equipment and facilities. The job Hector did for Rory on on Ol' Blue was perfect for a tow truck working the trails of Moab. A '55 Chevy hot rod deserves something better than paint from Tractor Supply.
If it’s for Grandma Lolli, let’s have Robbie and crew add their awesome.
Great to see Lando being a valuable contributor to these builds.
Love the "whistlin diesel" phase, we were just the same as kids! But growing up into building cool rigs is a massive set of life skills that's awesome to see these lads get into.
Mad props to the family environment at home 🤙🤙
I can't wait to hear this 55 fire up for the first time. Love the "family" atmosphere in every video.
I like to see Hunter and Landon learning. Paul's a wealth of Knowledge
My dad had a 55 that he sold because he needed the money to get married. My mom was so mad he sold the car. She loved it. She still married him though. I guess she like him better than the car after all.
Lookin good guys. Landon is gaining more confidence . Havin all those equipments helps out a lot. 😮😎
Paul ,looks like you need some help building custom exhaust,I wouldn't of used the " X" pipe ,you probably should of just ran normal duals ,then about 14 to 16 in towards the rear put a " H" tube to tie it in . Probably would be less rattles and clearance.
I kept yelling," turn them out!" ....aaaaand you did! It'll help blow the tire smoke away from the inside...when you do that big smokey burnout
Howling Wolf did a great job on Rory's Old Blue, good idea Paul! The '55 Chevy made a lot of forward progress today with Paul, Landon, Sean and Hunter getting things done, brake lines, exhaust, rajiator, etc.I wonder what Derek Bieri is doing today? Good video Fab Rats!
That 55 build is going to be great...Lance and Landon are working really well together.
You can tell when a man enjoys what he is doing. Making things more difficult with possibly more mistakes with out a look back 😎💪🔧🔧❤
Robby Layton needs to paint this '55! Love our Fab Rats!!
Was lucky to see this beauty physically in the shop last week. Unfortunately Paul wasn't around. Waiting to see it running!!
We were there last fall. It was cool to see the shop and meet Grandma Lolly. Even had a burger at the little food trailer where they get lunch on the videos sometimes.
He is Doing it Right
Because He’s Doing it Twice.. It Will Be Fine 😎👍
Dear Robby, watching you paint a '55 Chevy would be sooo much fun!
I think y’all should to do a video of all the cars you built and currently still have. It would be a cool video to see which are your top three favorites and why. I’ve been following since you had the Tacoma built. 💪🏼
GREAT CAR! Born in 1955, Birth of Rock and Roll, Chevy Belaire, ....! GREAT CAR!
Me too in September! Great cars in our decade!
I second the Howling Wolf to paint the car comment
L
Auton would only make a 67 part epodidr out of it
It's coming along nicely and I don't think you'll have too much trouble convincing Robby to Paint the 55 for you. I think he would love to paint it for you.
Howling wolf and he’d have Robby’s blessing. Cause Robby is a great guy. And would pick it apart in another fun video.
Paul you could have Rory's friend Howling Wolf paint the 55
To see inside I often put a camera & light inside & close it up. In the "olden" days a gob of putty would give clearance information.
Love your videos.
I WOULD TUB THE REAR OF THE CAR, 20" TIRES UNDER THE REAR ,AND SHORT AXLE WITH A 9" REAR END AND 3.55 OR 4.10 GEARS THE REAR
Don't shout.
Thank you Paul , Landon , Sean and Hunter for the update on the '55 ! It's looking awesome ! Paul go with your gut as to who to have paint it !
I love how Paul complicates the exhaust with the x pipes when he has electric cutouts.
The '55 is turning out GREAT! One humble request: you're SOOO close to having a significantly nice car, once it's completely together completely disassemble it and finish it inside and out, top to bottom, front to back. Make this a "complete" car and it'll have so much more appeal and value! Show the critics you can finish a car to a high standard.
critics Dont pay the bills, and doing a every nut and bolt resto will kill the views and get even more critics. be Happy that they're at Least painting this one!
@@caseyrenner7024 It's not much more work at this point to blow it apart and finish it.
I like the patina rigs but paint is also good. Just not the FJ. That thing looks nice.
If this car gets sent over to Robby, as Paul said it was in the video, then I am sure they will take care of that over there at Layton Autobody.
Really liked Paul's impression regarding the "Sleeper Button" and the exhaust pointing down.
Hector from howlin wolf garage should paint the 55 , Robby is a one hit wonder which was the golden nugget & he hasn't shut up about it since
the old car is really taking shape now, wont be long till it fires and goes on a cruise. thanks for sharing
Paul: 8:19 ... Play-Doh ... a big glob covered in cling wrap on any suspect corners ... easily tells you just how close you may be!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Saw the Rat back hiding at Chad's the other day. Looks AWESOME!
Yep Robby should paint it and work his magic.😊
Watched this couple days ago and then came back to check out the comments. Was astonished at all the hate comments on the different painters. So I came up with a solution. I'm on my way to Sherwin Williams to get some paint and a few brushes. Will be there as soon as I watch some videos on how to paint. Problem solved. Decided not to read comments again. Y'all still rock.
Robby Layton, charge Paul triple when you paint his 55 Chevy. Add flames too.
We all know Robbie needs to do this 55 some justice with his mint paint jobs 😂
Blow, tack, and static Paul
The Laytons were loaded way before the TH-cam thing,
Howling Wolf would be my choice for this build,Enamel paint that will hold up to scratches grinding dust ect.
thanks to you and all your crew for the work you do love watching the builds , the way you build is cool to watch thanks again keep up the good work.
I Just got my Fourth of July shirts in the mail, thank y’all do so much, I love what y’all do!
Both steel and carbide tipped holesaw teeth can be sharpened. Same goes for drill bits, carbide and steel circular saw blades, router bits, etc. It's done by any if not all sharpening shops like ones used by custom wood shops get their saw blades, router bits, drill bits, hole saws, etc. sharpened for a faction the cost of new ones. ;)
I think Hector is the man to paint this
Hey @fabrats. Motion race works makes throttle body intakes that are angled. May help make that turn between the intake and radiator/core support.
Glad you went with the side mount on the cutout dumps! Great choice!
I had a 55 Two door wagon when I was 17. It had been modified with a Buick Riviera engine, auto transmission and power bucket seats? It had no back seats and had shag carpet in the back. Obviously everyone called it the shaggon wagon lol😊
YEEEERH GREETINGS FROM DENMARK
THE ONE UP 55'NORTH
Thank you guys
C’Mon ROBBY !!!! paint this car dude.
The 55 Chevy is Coming Along Nicely ! Thx FabRats ❤
Are we ever going to see a project vehicle for Sean? I think we have seen everybody have a project vehicle except for the newest guy. LOL
Looks like fun! Can't wait to see how everything turns out!
Not sure if you have decided on a color yet or not but I think something in a two tone would look great😊
Yep I agree Robby needs to paint that beautiful ride for you
Lots of good stuff done on that project. Closer & closer to
Great job on the car! Awesome teamwork 👏 Thanks for sharing 👍
Very excited to hear that exhaust. Especially with the cutouts open…
When finished, the 55 will be a show stopper, no doubt! Candyapple red would definitely make it stand out even more! Just like your apple trees, it's sweet no matter how you look at it! Catch you on the next ✌️ 😊
Motion Raceworks makes a tight 90 billet elbow for intakes on LS/LT motors.
Just a suggestion Paul... I put big and littles on my '62 Impala and bought Boyd Coddington Junkyard Dog wheels. They look awesome and I get lots of compliments on them. '55 is really coming along! NICE!
Boyd's designs were awesome, pity he ain't with us any longer
Turn downs always should point t at rear tires. That way when your doing a break stand the exhaust helps billow the smoke out
Probably my favorite out of the tri fives although the gas fill behind the taillight on the 56 is pretty cool. Looks good and looking forward to seeing some smokie burn outs...🤓
Nice !! Well done ! !
Hard to see from our view, but the exhaust looping around the outside of the trans cross member might be easier and make your own X pipe to fit ?
Love seeing everybody involved and working together so well !!
😎 Blindness is better, said no one ever. When you are down to one, life gets really exciting. It's like gambling.
Looking good 👍
Enjoyed Watching ! Thanks for sharing.
Much respect for everyone.
Robby you heard the man. He needs the chev painted.
Greetings Paul…….I was wondering how you feel about hood pins instead of hacking the original hood latch……it would be bad if that hood flew up while driving if that hood latch failed….also you wouldn’t need a latch at all which would not risk damage to the radiator assembly causing leaks!
Better yet make it a flip front end...
Thanks for making
Suggestion for the air filter situation. Don't know if any exist for your motor, but you could get an air intake with the throttle body that is located on top instead of the front. Make it a bit nicer to work on, and if it dont fit under the hood, you can just add a hood scoop.
Robbie needs to paint this 55 candy apple red. I know Robbie can do it!
You know Robby would love to paint your car. The entire crew really like sanding. Plus with the addition of Sean any bad spots in the metal will be repaired in excellent fashion.
No 678 parts of videos a
R not appealing
Thanks for another great video.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Can't wait yo see that car cruising! Excellent video!
Howling Woolf needs to paint this car ❤
Alloy Ralley wheels would look great! They have different sizes 👍
Looking forward to the startup. Great job fellas.
Paul use a Go Pro camera so you can see underneath the Hood on your 55 Chevrolet
Enjoy watching this project.
Coming together quite nicely
good job!
Great work.
All you need is a paint stick, for the body lines,
The 1955 chevy is looking awesome can't wait to see it done,
Keep doing what you guys do and God bless you and your family ,love the video contents
It’s a studabaker not a chevy
@@kenmeuse2226 If you're talking about Paul's car ! It's a '55 Chevy not a Studebaker !
@@steveclark4291 Also, thanks Steve for spelling Studebaker correctly.
@kenmeuse2226 it is a chevy you dummy
I had one of y'all's shirts on, and a guy at the part house said love the shirt and the show. Little Texas town. I need to get a couple more lol
Good morning from Crow Oregon
That car is looking great guys
Good video everyone
Great build.
Thanks for the video guys
Howlin Wolf!!! Get that job Hector!
