I disagre about the music. Probably the weakest part of the game. It honestly feels like they just recorded a radio station playing random songs. Nothing with any thought for situation mood or tone was considered.
I was pleasantly surprised by the game. You’re right about the story though. There’s a lot there if you go looking for it. I like the world building in Stellar Blade.
So glad people like Stellar Blade! At last a high budget game with pretty and sexy female characters! I like Souls and such, so I quite enjoyed the demo and am looking forward to buying full game later this month.

Granted I've not played many games this year, but this is currently my game of the year, the gameplay and exploration and unlocked just keep me playing.
When all the different things click in this game it’s amazing. Skateboardin on your sword down the Hyper Tube with rave music playing getting attacked by a boss. Get knocked out the Tube, rave music climaxes and continues playing while the boss fight begins. Peak. 👌 GOTY I dunno but definitely an underdog hit.
I want to play this game everyday especially when im at work i wanna go home and play Stellar Blade. Its such a great game. Not perfect but thats the nature of things. Now that's something in gaming I haven't experienced in awhile.
I want it to win GOTY. It went above and beyond in delivering on my end and is one of the best optimized games I’ve played in a really long time. Journalists are going to go out of their way to make sure it doesn’t win though.
If its not for nostalgic hype. This is as good as God of War 2018 when it comes to a new world, new characters, and a new combat system. This game raised that bar that GOW raised in 2018. The only area where Stellar Blade falls from being a 10/10 is in its platforming sections which could use some more polishing.
Would be an easy GOTY for me if FF7 Rebirth hadn't released earlier this year as well. But Stellar Blade definitely is the best new IP I've seen in AAA games in a long long time. Insanly good game, especially considering it's Shift Up's first game outside the mobile game market. I really hope it's setting some trends in game design.

I think the game could definitely be in the running from what ive seen of it. Haven't played it myself yet. But i don't think it can overcome what FF7 Rebirth offers as an experience for a GotY contender. But i hope this game gets recognition in the award circuit this year!
Great game but those last 3 bosses took a HUGE increase in difficulty. Even on normal they were too hard. Most people will probably bump down the difficult at the end of the game. The rest of the game on Normal difficulty was fine, but those last 3 bosses were just too hard.

Stellar Blade is my GOTY honestly. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Agreed! I gave up hope on Kingdom Hearts IV coming out this year. Stellar Blade is awesome.

Idk I I can personally put it over FF7 Rebirth but it’s a fantastic game and should be a GOTY contender.
100% That combat system with the hugh skill tree is Fu fire 🔥 Game has the highest score ever on PlayStation alongside with Last Of Us.

I think controversy and demo blew up this game, to even get it sold out in Japan and #1 preordered game. No one can say it didnt do well cuz it did
Before this game for it was ff7 rebirth, now I have to flip a coin and let fate decide, I cannot choose.
