  • Hi guys! It's me Heebie! I'm a UX Designer currently working for a startup based in Atlanta. Previously, I worked at Deloitte as a Senior Tax Consultant (but that's a story for another time). I've been WFH for about a month now and thought it'll be a fun little project for me to document what a typical day looks like working during this pandemic.
    here's the breakdown:
    0:00 - morning walk to start my day
    0:58 - make coffee
    2:11 - setup work station
    2:45 - standup with team
    4:10 - plan my day
    6:19 - lofi sketches
    10:42- before lunch - discussion with team
    12:32 - before lunch - work on wireframes
    13:26 ~~~ lunch break ~~~
    17:05 - afternoon - more wireframes and discussions
    17:40 - chat break with fransss
    17:58 - postbreak - work some more
    18:23 - that's a wrap!
    Enjoy and hope you all stay safe! ❤️

      I currently have 4 on my portfolio. Have you consider doing a case study for a web application? One thing I've heard along the way is that hiring manager like to see both web and mobile design. Good luck to you! :)

    What do you do when you don't have a new wireframe to work on ? Do you look at the statistics of the pages you built ? I'm really new at UX design and it is so hard to find what a UX design actually to on a daily basic 🙈

    • @itsmeheebie
      @itsmeheebie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sarah, that's a great question. It really depends on how big your team is and what kind of company you work for. Because my company is a startup we have a lot of new features so there is always wireframes to work on. However, beside wireframes, I conduct user interviews, talk to users to get their feedback, do design critique on other UX designer's work, conduct brainstorming session, talk to my PM about new requirements, figure out the user flow for new feature of improvement of existing features. That's a pretty long list but I hope this helps. :)

    How can I know if ux is better for me than ui? how did you choose ! Im so confused on what will suit me more! :)

    • @itsmeheebie
      @itsmeheebie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi! great question! I don't think one is better than the other. It just depends on what you want and what your strengths are. For me I choose UX , because i am very analytical and I like to creatively problem solve. I care a lot about the overall structure and process (i.e. information architecture and user flow). I enjoyed the UI side, but it wouldn't make me feel fulfilled if I only focus on the UI aspect. Hope this helps!

      Really sorry to hear that! I'm sure you had a lot of hopes about your ux job when you started. Do you work with other UX Designers? Do you still enjoy the job itself (without considering the senior designer)? If so, I would try to find new work environment. At least now you know what kind of work environment you want in your next job. I hope things gets better for you. :)

    • @itsmeheebie
      @itsmeheebie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ohhhh this is a super duper hard question haha. I would say the most important skill is creative problem solving. Know how to get to the root of the problem and design a solution for that problem. Not sure if that answers your question... haha
