Thank you so much for this video. Im a career changer. Im starting a bootcamp in 2 weeks. Coming from the hospitality industry ( server/ pastry chef) I was nervous of adding that to my resume, but this video somehow encouraged me not to be discouraged. Those jobs have taught me a lot about customer service and empathy.
I glad you found this video helpful! And YESSSS Karina! Put that on there~ Understanding people and having empathy is the core of UXD and being in customer service so there's definitely overlaps there. Happy to hear that your bootcamp is going well. Good luck!
@@The_business_Podcast Gladly, I did alot of research on TH-cam and on Google because I had no real knowledge about UX. I finished the BootCamp and though it was helpful, I don't think its really necessary to land a job in this field. I think TH-cam, research, and maybe some free courses will get the job done with no cost. My only suggestion is have a strong portfolio. I think that's what most companies look for most. They want to see that you're able to do the work. Best of luck!
Girl I’m going to need a whole tutorial on how to even do the graph and have it automatically add up the average 😅 Anyway! Loving your videos and thanks for all of the insight! 🤗💖
Hi Hebe, love your content! I'm a ux designer from ATL as well! Your stuff is very inspirational and it helps me to create UX content on my own channel! Please keep sharing your story and please keep inspiring!
this was super helpful hebe especially since i go to school in atlanta and am interning at an atlanta based company. location is such an important factor, i come from the bay area so it’s interesting to see how much salary differs across different cities
for sure, location is such a huge factor! the number for bay area is significantly higher, but then the cost of living is also significantly higher. i'm glad this was helpful!
Hello Hebe! I would love to speak with you more if you offer coffee hours or anything like that! I was literally JUST asked this salary question. I'm in Atlanta too! I feel like the other locations really skew salary results and there just isn't a ton of info in Atlanta about UX salaries! I definitely want the experience more than a high salary at this point since I'm entry-level, but I also don't want to undercut myself so much that. Women/femmes of color are much more likely to have lower salaries, so I think that's also fear as I enter the more corporate world!
This video was awesomely helpful! I'm also in ATL and am looking for a new career. I'm a recent college grad with experience in graphic design, but the market is still competitive as ever 😓 I recently took an interest in UX design because I feel like it will develop on skills I already have and teach me something new!

@@Shmyrk It's going well. A lot more work than I had anticipated, but I'm getting through it!
