Videos like this are so encouraging as someone looking to get into UX and the tech-field. Using the quarantine time now to level up my skills and portfolio and hoping once it's all over, I'm going to work at a cool company doing what I like. :D

@@ramishamon4899 I had a really good opportunity fall through because of COVID unfortunately. (No use in dwelling tho) Recently I haven't been the best on "leveling up" but I'm slowly working on it still. I have a phone call Wed which could be promising.
tech isn't rainbows and roses (sometimes the perks are a disguise to the ugliness that goes behind the scenes) but it's a promising career track where the value of your work increases when you put in the effort and time to grow your skillset. it gives you the opportunity and power to be part of the decision making process at companies. wish you the best in your transition :)

I used to be super depressed after College (graduated this May) and not knowing what to do with my CS degree. It was hard getting a job too because I just didn't care for software development.... but then I got a job in UI/UX Design with a startup and I LOVE it!!! I found that I'm definitely more creative and "artsy" than just full on math and logic based. I still have a long way to go in UX design, but seeing videos like these motivates me!!! I'm already starting to create my own portfolio site :)
Hey, I am in a similar phase as you. I have a CS degree but I am more interested in UI UX design. I had few questions - is UI UX a good career opportunity in future? Because the market says that it's not that demanding. Will ai replace us?

I'm not so sure about that, a lot of women are getting into design & development right now. I am studying web development & interactive design, and I am literally the only guy out of 10 people
This is one of the videos that made me realize my love for UI/UX! I graduated with a comp sci degree last year and really didn't like being a developer - but now I work for a startup as a Producg Designer and I'm very happy and omg the people are so nice in the UIUX community.
i'm 1st year software engineer and im switching to graphic design, ( its got some ux/ui modules) just wanted to share. I personally did not enjoy 1st of uni

I have started as UX designer after 7 years of career gap and I'm loving it. Thank you this inspires me and reminds me I am not wrong making a career change being a commerce graduate to designer 😍😍😍
I don't know why but I just love the office atmosphere. Working on something that I already love (graphic design) then sharing it with co-workers and evaluating it just seems so cool to me. Definitely my dream job.
This is so fascinating for me. I was offered a role in UX design years ago and chose to pursue something else, so this is like looking at what I *could* have done haha! Working in tech seems really fun, and I like that you arrive early - such a great feeling!

You gave me an inspiration and now I want to become a profi in design. Well, I started learning UX desigh a month ago but I stuck on it because I didn't have the reasons to continue and it was also hard for me. But now I actually have motivation to move on and to reach a success in this sphere, so one day I'd work in the place like yours :)
Do you do your own content and copywriting too? What’s that process?
I feel you, I am a coding ex student, UI/UX pro ---> designing and developing app for local companies. I don't have a portfolio cause I am only too young and don't even know how to start to get one because the companies I worked for don't want that I share their infos. So, I am stuck because to get a job position they ask me to have experience even for an internship, but I can't have experience if I can't demonstrate because the company was small and not in the sector of designing.
Reasons to continue? Like paying for your food and rent? It sounds like you weren't that much interested in it. If you were, you wouldn't try to find reasons. Are you a working ux designer today?

you're not alone in experiencing anxiety :D it does get better though the more you present. I'll try to share tips and ways to overcome fear of public speaking in another video!
@@chunbuns i thought it was interesting how you present to the different groups. at a startup i was stuck presenting to everyone at once, and eventually the meeting group got so interested/big that it was nearly impossible to give everyone the same type of info in the same way for me. finance, engineering, ceo, other design, marketing, and ops all in the same room together. it got a bit out of hand. having 1 on 1's with people instead may have worked better, since sometimes the designs catered to what the PM and CEO wanted but not anyone else. so it wasn't really relevant to them

So interesting to see the differences and similarities between SF tech culture and Korean tech culture! The free t-shirts and screen printing look SO COOL! Great video!! Like a lot of people can probably relate to, the part that makes me worry if I can really be a good UX designer, is presenting my work to other people. You have to be good at explaining your design process etc. But it is of course something you can learn.

it looooks sooo nice and an amazing community to be in, however, i got anxiety from this because of all those meetings, presentations and communications. (i am studying in tech-field and i should soon work somewhere)
As an Instacart shopper, I'm surprised that the Instacart base is so nice. The quality of customer service makes me think they're running out of a shack. I'm sure they outsource their call center services though. I'm also an aspiring designer, so this was really interesting to watch! Thanks for sharing :)
