Hello Martin Just to catch up. I purchased your DVD and came on your course about two years ago now. It really helped me and today my business has expanded to the extent I now have my t-shirts silk screen printed 400 at a time. However, I still use your system when trying out new designs. Without your DVD I would not have got to the point where I am now selling thousands of t-shirts a year. I can honestly say it was a great investment.
Hi lee, Yes I remember meeting you. As I state, You get out what you put in and My method is the ideal starting place as it's low cost and easy to create low runs until you are in a position to expand, which is exactly what you have done. Well done and good luck and thanks for the update. Regards Martin
Hi, Thanks Martin great tutorial as usual I have a question If you have to clean the top heat plate of a Heatpress what can you use ? Regards Geoffrey Urch
Hi, First off..I am loving your videos. I have a question about if you are adding vinyl lettering to this shirt, would you press it all at the same time as the snowman or would you press it more than once. Thanks
Hi Martin, Great Video, Can you tell me what the protective paper you're laying down between the transfer and the press, is it just basic greaseproof paper or is there a particular name for it and also when you are buying the ink on ebay for the transfers what do you type so you know you're buying the right ones?
Carolina, I answer all of those questions on my training dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ Regards Martin
Hi Martin, I have another question, lets say you wish to print words and letters with dark transfer paper and you cut the word out in your silhouette, do you buy some kind of transfer application tape so that when the letters are laid on the garment to be printed their all in the position they need to be so nothing gets printed squint?
Mark McCann I avoid printing letters unless they are part of an image with dark transfer papers. If I do need to add words, I do them in vinyl. Cheers Martin
I remember watching you before I started my business now I'm almost a year in , how long did it take you to start earning money after start for yours ? Great video btw
HI Jose, As you can imagine, I get the same questions over and over again so that's why I created my training dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ and I also give email support with this. Regards Martin
Hi Martin, Thanks for a great Tutorial I am one of your DVD Tutorial club members I think you might have answered a problem I have been getting, When using the opaque transfer paper for dark t shirts the print was trying to peel on one corner but I was trying to peel it hot the next one I will try at a higher pressure also. I do have a nice press its a knight dk20 clam press so should be ok. Do you think there could be any other reason for this peeling temp is at 190 cc Thanks Geoff
Hi Martin, I watched your DVD and it's really helpful to understand the steps to start up a business. I would like ask you if I want to do vinyl-print on 100% polyester, in a various colours of t-shirt (a small LOGO) both in left-chest corner and on the hand, do I need a sublimation printer and what sort of vinyl paper do I need? Do I need '3G Jet Oaque Paper' to print on a sublimation printer? I would highly appreciate if you kindly advice me regarding this or send me a link of your video regarding this topic. Kind regards, Bari
You can apply vinyls on 100% polyester but if you want full colour images, you could use a transfer paper for dark t shirts or use sublimation. If you choose sublimation, you would need to invest in a new printer and sublimation ink. You cannot use the same ink for the transfer papers. Hope this explains. Regards Martin
Bari Mohammad Yes, you also need the Sawgrass Sublijet R inks. When you get this printer, it comes with standard ink cartridges but do not install those. You must install the Sublijet cartridges from new. Regards Martin
Hi Martin, you mention Dye based inks in the printer, are these similar to sublimation dye or is it a different type? Sorry if you have covered this in another video. I have sublimation and roland MH721 cutter, use Richo 3300SDN and Epson for "normal" printing, to do this would we need to buy a different set of inks? many thanks.
What ink do you use for Epson 1500w? Is it Dye-Sublimation like Ricoh's SG printers? On what materials you can apply the transfer? with Ricoh sublimation printers they must be applied on 100% polyester clothes. You can use Inkscape (inkscape.org) instead of GIMP (gimp.org) for Vector designs.
I use basic dye based inks for t shirt transfers like in this video. I don't use sublimation for t shirts as you can't rint on 100% cotton shirts and sublimation t shirts are dearer. I don't use Epson printers for sublimation either. I used to but thay waste so much ink in their maintenance cycles and they keep clogging the print heads if they are not used for a few days. The ricoh printers and sawgrass inks are what I use for sublimation when I do my mug printing and I have never had any problems with the ricoh and sawgrass inks.. Thanks Martin
Light t shirt transfer papers are transparent when heated so there is no way an inkjet printer can print white so you have to rely on the actual white t shirt to provide the white in the image where as the transfer paper for dark t shirts is actually white and provides the white in the images. Cheers Martin
Martin Butler thanks . so if u use one for lights it won't work or look good on darks ? Sorry I'm just so confused. They both the same fabric I thought it would work the same. I'm way to new in this and looking to get it to it. Sorry for the hard time lol
You can get away with using the white t shirt transfers on a light pastel yellow or blue t shirts and it makes the design look vintage but in general, white transfers for white t shirts only and the other one for all coloured t shirts. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin, question. So basically I need to Install a Dye based ink to my printer correct? Does that apply to a laser printer as well? And Secondly regarding the paper you used for this video what is it called? Thanks
+Lazarus Jones Check out my training dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ where I talk about why I use this system. Cheers Martin
So I take it that this is a special printer then? If so what's the name of the printer and can I buy normal ink for it or does it have to be some sort of special ink?
+Bird Brietling This is a standard inkjet printer with standard dye based inks. Check out my other vids for more information on my set up. Cheers Martin
excellent martin, just one query, would the epsom 1500 print bigger than A4 ? ..ie, how about if you were needing to do a full frontal print, cheers me' dears
I need help i am having issue with my cameo 3, cutting head is stuck to the right side and not sliding to the left side .please reply if you know. thankyou!!
As a beginner I thought I'd get the very cheapest of ink, transfer paper, etc. I was messing around with my new silhouette cameo software and getting a bit of practice in, I was ready to cut my first image and I opened my transfer papers and was trying to separate the transfer paper from the backing so I could tell which was the printable side, after a few minutes I realised I had bought, Iron on transfer papers and they were cheap and nasty with little lumps all over them, Martin, Is there a difference between heat press transfer paper and iron on transfer paper? Cheers Mark
Mark McCann Transfer papers come in different qualitys. The cheap iron on ones you can get from ebay or your local stationers are basically rubbish. You need a quality transfer paper. Check out my training dvd where I show my whole business. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin, I had pressed three t shirts on a trial run, first two I gave away, third one I wore, it was raining today and I was pumping iron in my outdoor gymnasium, as my t shirt started to get wet, the colours ran slightly and as I had used it I put it straight in the washing machine with a load, it came out a lighter green than what it went in and yellow runs were still in the fabric and I quickly realised I need advice, it was a dark transfer paper I had used and I pressed it around a week ago and just left it sitting until wearing it today. How do you keep the colours from running and how do you keep the image bright and vibrant with zero colour fade in the wash? Cheers Mark
Hi there Martin, I'm new to the business and wanted to find good quality transfer paper as I'm currently using ones from WHSMITHS. Could you send me the link for your Light and Dark Transfer Paper which would be very helpful and also a link to where you your cutter from.
G6WEZZY Hi, to ensure you don't make any mistakes, you should check out my training dvd where i answer all those questions and you also get email support as well. The link is in the description below the video. Cheers Martin
That's right bud. I give away so much info in my videos and they take a lot of time to create so I have to keep something back. It's a business I share to help others to get started and I have done as well. Cheers Martin
I enjoy your videos they are very informative! I am looking to get started from scratch heat pressing T Shirts we are having a benefit for a friend that passed away's family and he was a big Raiders fan so I need to make hundreds of Black T Shirts with white Raiders Image I have the design Im just on a low budget and short for time so I was hoping you could reply with a list of the supplies I need to order besides the shirts and heat press(printer,paper/vinyl,cutters,and inc etc..) if you get a moment ? Thank You!
HI, You should check out my training dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ I give full email support with this dvd Regards Martin
I would do that in vinyl so you'll need a decent heat press and a cutter. Check out the Silhouette Cameo Cutter and a Stahls Heat press. Do a Google search for ones in your area. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin, I know this is an old video and I looked to see if it has been asked before but did not see it. Why do you have to create an outline in photoshop of the color of the Tee shirt you are printing on? Why couldn't you just cut the image out the way it was if the edges of the image were sharp enough? I would rather make my images without an outline. Thanks in advance for your reply!
HI Linda, Sometimes the cutter may leave a little bit of the white transfer paper background when contour cutting and that would not be acceptable so to prevent this happening, I put a similar colour around the image in case this happens. In an ideal world, it wouldn't happen. It's the same reason that printers like a bleed edge when printing. Cheers Martin
good evening Martin I am new to this I have a heat press I usually order my heat transfer from proworld . but I want to do custom transfers without breaking my pockets can you use a regular printer and the suillottle cameo cutter plotter for pictures and words?
Adam Stanford You don't really need to use transfers for dark fabric's on a white t shirt as the white t shirt provides the white colour. You can buy iron on t shirt transfers but they won't last for long. You really need a heat press and quality transfer papers. Regards Martin
Hi Martin, Can you get a bulk ink system onto a Ricoh, to keep the costs down and chip resetting ink cartridges as well or is that just for the Epsons? Cheers Mark
Mark McCann Hi Mark, I think you can but not in the Sawgrass inks. I personally don't have a problem with the Gel Ink cartridges as they last for ages. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin, I've been looking at sublimation printers and the two main ones I see are the Ricoh sg7100dn A3 and the Epson 1500w, As money is a bit of an issue I can only afford for now the Epson 1500w I can get it for around £185 - £226 and the refills will be cheaper than the more expensive sawgrass inks. As the Epson 1500w is listed as a dye sublimation ink printer does that mean I could choose to fill up my ciss with either plain ordinary dye based, pigment, or sublimation ink? though not one after the other. as I already have two canon dye based printers then, I figured that if I choose to make the 1500w a sublimation printer with the option of a replacement print head when necessary for around £60 if it ever clogs up on me. It will work out a good deal cheaper than the very high costs of the Ricoh, As I can't afford it at the moment. Would you recon that would be a wise move? Cheers Mark
You're comment got me thinking Martin I'm getting the hang of this but it's a lot to take in. Sublimation ink is really only available and exclusively licenced from sawgrass isn't it, but you can get it from inktec aswell for wide format printers only, a Korean based company, I'm limited with the Epson 1500w to dye based and pigment inks, if I want to print sublimation its going to have to be the ricoh, but i'll just need to settle for the A4 format for now as it's cheaper. I don't really understand why when you type sublimation printer into search bar up comes the Epson 1500w when it's so difficult to obtain proper sublimation inks for it, not unless ofcourse this sawgrass company does inks for it. So as the sales revenue of ricoh is in the billions and being a Tokyo based Japanese company, their printers must be very very good. I will try to get their cheapest model for trial. Do you know how much it is to refill the ricoh with sublijet inks? Cheers Mark
Forget the Epsons for sublimation as they waste so much ink in their maintenance cycles and the thicker sublimation inks tend to block up the print heads if not used regurlarly. I don't use sublimation for t shirts as stated in my tutorial dvd Only for the Mug business but The best Sublimation set up for small home businesses is the Ricoh printer with the Sawgrass gel inks.
Thanks Martin awesome reply, Glad it's just the basic printing settings gets so confusing with these icc profiles for sublimation inks haha, thanks again :)
+Lambert Repizo printer is an Epson 1500W Inkjet printer and the cutter as a Silhouette Cameo. Check out my other t shirt vids for more information. Regards Martin
What type of cover paper do you use? For regular transfer paper, I reflect the photo, than lay the paper on the shirt (that is on the press) and press... what am I doing wrong? Thanks mate
Oh okay thank you for your answer. Now my husband wants to do some shirts and he doesn't know what kind of ink to use for the print out of his designs. He did some plastink and when we wash it it breaks apart. Can you advice on what kind of ink he should use please. Thank you
Check out the rest of my videos and also check out my training dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ Regards Martin
Hi Martin, Is there any way possible you can put a list together of the Name of the HeatPress, Name of Ink exactly how I would need to type into Ebay, Name of Your Printer and the extra items you described that you add to the printer, Name of the Cutter and whatever else you think I will need to begin? Thank You So Much for your assistance, your video was very informational.
Hi Dee, That's why I created my training dvd to show all the info on how we run this business. I also provide email support with the dvd. ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ Check it out. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin. What is the make of transfer paper you use? I've tested a dark t-shirt with a logo printed with dye-based inks using an HP envy printer, and YOLO dark transfer paper. But after one wash, the inks have started to fade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Stephen Lowry I don't know what press you have but the only way to know the real heat is to get a laser thermometer and check the heat plate as I did in one of my vids. and see if it matches the display temp and is heating evenly all over the plate. Cheers Martin
hi Martin, I was looking for this ink you use on the Coralgraph ebay page and it seems that they do not have one for Ricoh. I am also a bit confused when you say that i dont use sublimation ink, if I am using the normal inks you use do I need to get a different type of paper or isnit the same paper used for sublimation ink. sorry I am starting up
I don't do sublimation on t shirts. I use the Dye based ink that you mentioned with transfer papers. Best check out my training dvd bud at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ Cheers Martin
I'm trying to work out how I would go about using the silhouette to cut around text or complex shapes on either dark or light paper and get everything on a t-shirt without having to place each letter individually. Any ideas?
On light papers it's east as you just weed away the remaining transfer paper from the sheet and leave the image and words on the sheet and put it directly onto the garment. With transfers for dark t shirts, it's different as you have to remove the backing paper from the carrier paper so in this case, I only use darn transfers for images and if a design needs test, we do it in vinyl. Cheers Martin
Martin Butler thanks. I'll have to change my blade depth as it is cutting through the paper rather than scoring it. I could leave the image on the cutting mat, but that might melt under the heat
Martin Butler maybe it's the paper I have. I've been pulling the paper off and it's sort of working, but on slightly more intricate designs, it has ripped. I guess it's down to technique
Hi again Martin, Is it only Epson printers that have the micro piezo technology allowing you to use sublimation inks, not that I wouldn't go out and buy one, but I already have an A4 and A3 canon printer which are rather new but I wouldn't want to run sublimation ink through them and ruin the print heads if they are not designed to take the inks, I could just keep printing normal dye inks through them for the non sublimation transfers but I do want to have the option of the sublimation to print on mugs?
Mark McCann I would only use the Ricoh printers for sublimation as Epson's tend to clog the print heads due to their fine nozzles. I use many Epson printers for sublimation in the past and they all blocked up and wasted too much ink in their maintenance cycles. Cheers Martin
Mark McCann Hi, i have been using the epson WF7015 for sublimation in my gift shop , using it all day every day for over a year with no issues. just get the CIS system for it with good sublimation inks and you will be fine. its a cheap printer now as its an older model too.
Koochiekoo gifts As you said, it's in use all day every day. The problems for beginners is they only use it on and off and they constantly block up if not in regular use. The Ricoh SG3110 has never given problems when only used now and then. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin, I am trying to get some info for Heat transfer to Dri Fit Shirts and shorts. They are 100% polyester and are finding that platen marks are left on the shirt, Have you done much on Dri Fit,? or have you got a dvd spelling this out. These shirts are mainly dark colors. Any help would be appreciated. I may try our vacuum press, but 190c for 180 sec (normal t shirt)may be wrong for Dri Fit. Cheers Kevin NZ
HI Kevin, I would suggest that you might struggle to transfer print these garments due to the length of time and the required temp of transfer papers. These garments will have a lower heat threshold so you should look at speciality vinyl's with a lower heat and duration time. Something like the vinyl's used in lightweight sports garments. Just ask your supplier for recommendations. Cheers Martin
I just purchased some dark heat transfer papers and for some reason the outline is sort of coming uneven nor smooth. Ive tried many options and diffent blade and force settings but doesnt seem to work. I have an EPSON L1300 and silhuoette cameo 3 cutter. Waht can I do please? Ive tried sticker paper, copy paper, heat transfer printable dark, Image heat transfer...nothing seems to work :/ Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Its had for me to understand what you are doing bud without seeing it in action. Try and check out a few of my tutorials and see if you can throw any light onto your problem.
Yes i have seen many of your tutorials but nothing seems to be working. Can I maybe send you an image for you to better picture what is happening to me?
hello sir am using dark transfer paper with digital eye plotter but the issue am facing is after wash color is coming out like powder and the image is breaking...please guide if am doin anything wrong
It depends on what transfer papers you are using and also your printer setting may be putting too much ink onto the transfer. Try changing the ink setting to text and image instead of best photo. Also make sure your heat press has even temp all over.
Today i printed Watch Dogs picture on a Tshirt ! See what happened to the picture after i printed it on Tshirt ! This first snap is the actual image and second snap is the pic printed on tshirt. _lh3.googleusercontent.com/Ei-SE4WJJRPtELO0Exgfcd2-S-XDf1qnD_fFG7wJ5ZGGo_BMz0x4wIORA20yYYDZo-dfbev_Tw_

Hey Martin, what brand are you using for the Dark Transfer Paper?
Also would this apply more with an Inkjet printer than a laser printer? Which is what I have. Thanks again for the feedback
+Lazarus Jones I only use inkjet transfer papers. I can't really comment on laser transfers.

I do have a nice press its a knight dk20 clam press so should be ok. Do you think there could be any other reason for this peeling temp is at 190 cc Thanks Geoff

what heat transfer paper would you recommend? I am starting out but want to start on the right foot.
I save that info for my training dvd bud. All my recommendations are in there.
Great video , i.see you used a A4 transfer paper in the Silhouette Cameo cutter can it cut a bigger sheet of paper ?
Thanks in advance
Bev Tabbett I have the cameo 3 (the newest one ) and from my experience it's limit is 12 by 12
It can cut from 12inches wide to probably 10 foot long. I have a video where I did a vinyl sign for my daughters shop that was 6 feed long.
Subbed soon as I saw the mouse pad.
what type of plotter and paper do you use any info would be much appreciated
excellent martin, just one query, would the epsom 1500 print bigger than A4 ? ..ie, how about if you were needing to do a full frontal print, cheers me' dears
Yes, the Epson 1500W print op to A3. This is big enough for even larger t shirts.
Cheers
Martin

Sorry bud, Try the silhouette help desk.
Martin Butler I fixed it !!
but thanks for the reply realy appreciate it.
best channel you are the boss 😍☺
hie bro! wonderful informative clip there. Tell me, are there any small vinyl desktop printers?
Not that I know of. Vinyl printers are very dear as well bud.
Cheers
Martin
As a beginner I thought I'd get the very cheapest of ink, transfer paper, etc. I was messing around with my new silhouette cameo software and getting a bit of practice in, I was ready to cut my first image and I opened my transfer papers and was trying to separate the transfer paper from the backing so I could tell which was the printable side, after a few minutes I realised I had bought, Iron on transfer papers and they were cheap and nasty with little lumps all over them, Martin, Is there a difference between heat press transfer paper and iron on transfer paper?
Cheers
Mark
Mark McCann Transfer papers come in different qualitys. The cheap iron on ones you can get from ebay or your local stationers are basically rubbish. You need a quality transfer paper. Check out my training dvd where I show my whole business.

Cheers
Mark
You need to be using the right transfer papers with a quality heat press. All the info on what I use is in my tutorial dvd.
Cheers
Martin
Hi there Martin,
I'm new to the business and wanted to find good quality transfer paper as I'm currently using ones from WHSMITHS.

Martin
Good informative stuff as always Martin..:-)
Thanks Terry, didn't know you were subbed to this channel as well,
Martin Butler
Oh Yes, found you on this channel b4 the other, Got keep an eye on ya, keep you in order....lol
says its not made for heat transfer but looks good to me, what kind of paper do you use?
Don't ask lol he won't tell you - buy his Dvd to find out ( do you own testing and samples ) - way to go n share info lol
That's right bud. I give away so much info in my videos and they take a lot of time to create so I have to keep something back. It's a business I share to help others to get started and I have done as well.
Cheers
Martin
Hi Martin, what size of area can you print then cut using the Silhouette?
12" width by about 10 feet long although I mainly use A4 transfer papers and 330mmx500mm vinyl sheets.
Cheers
Martin
I enjoy your videos they are very informative! I am looking to get started from scratch heat pressing T Shirts we are having a benefit for a friend that passed away's family and he was a big Raiders fan so I need to make hundreds of Black T Shirts with white Raiders Image I have the design Im just on a low budget and short for time so I was hoping you could reply with a list of the supplies I need to order besides the shirts and heat press(printer,paper/vinyl,cutters,and inc etc..) if you get a moment ? Thank You!
HI, You should check out my training dvd at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ I give full email support with this dvd
Regards
Martin
I would do that in vinyl so you'll need a decent heat press and a cutter. Check out the Silhouette Cameo Cutter and a Stahls Heat press. Do a Google search for ones in your area.
Cheers
Martin
Cheers
Martin
good evening Martin I am new to this I have a heat press I usually order my heat transfer from proworld . but I want to do custom transfers without breaking my pockets can you use a regular printer and the suillottle cameo cutter plotter for pictures and words?
+Meshach Church Yes, you can also use clothing vinyl for cutting out words and logo's ect,
+Martin Butler thank you very much I will be ordering your DVD.
Question I have iron on paper for dark fabrics. Can I use it on a white fabric if so how would I iron on the paper
Adam Stanford You don't really need to use transfers for dark fabric's on a white t shirt as the white t shirt provides the white colour. You can buy iron on t shirt transfers but they won't last for long. You really need a heat press and quality transfer papers.
Regards
Martin
is the image stays after you wash it in the washing machine/dryer or it will pill/faded?
+bea santos No it doesn't peel or fade the transfers I use.
Hi Martin... Is the cover sheet Parchment paper? Thanks so much.
+Jeff .Cann Hi Jeff,
I'm not sure, you'd have to Google that one.
Cheers
Martin
Do i really need to use a teflon sheet just to put the design on the cloth?
Hi Martin, Can you get a bulk ink system onto a Ricoh, to keep the costs down and chip resetting ink cartridges as well or is that just for the Epsons?
Cheers
Mark
Mark McCann Hi Mark, I think you can but not in the Sawgrass inks. I personally don't have a problem with the Gel Ink cartridges as they last for ages.
Cheers
Martin
Cheers
Mark
Cheers
Mark
Forget the Epsons for sublimation as they waste so much ink in their maintenance cycles and the thicker sublimation inks tend to block up the print heads if not used regurlarly.
I don't use sublimation for t shirts as stated in my tutorial dvd Only for the Mug business but The best Sublimation set up for small home businesses is the Ricoh printer with the Sawgrass gel inks.
do you have a certain icc profile for your printer i know as sublimation inks you need profiles to match the printers confused thanks martin
+Adam Paul Mcnulty I use the standard profiles with these dye based inks for the transfers. No messing about changing settings.
Cheers
Martin
Thanks Martin awesome reply, Glad it's just the basic printing settings gets so confusing with these icc profiles for sublimation inks haha, thanks again :)
Hello Sir, Can i ask what kind of printer you used and that cutter? thank you
+Lambert Repizo printer is an Epson 1500W Inkjet printer and the cutter as a Silhouette Cameo. Check out my other t shirt vids for more information.

Martin
Hi! What paper do you put on the top of the design?
I protect the transfer and heat plate with a teflon sheet.
Cheers
Martin
using the cameo software, how do i automaticly generate the cut line instead of using the bowtie tool?
use the trace facility, there are tutorials on youtube about it. I think I show a bit in a couple of my vids.
SUPER !! Thanks!!!
That looks brilliant!! tfs :)
Maz
+BubbleBakery.Co Yes, it is a good process if you use the right materials.
Cheers
Martin
This is very helpful, thanks!
+Tuff Touch No problem,
Glad you enjoyed.
What type of cover paper do you use? For regular transfer paper, I reflect the photo, than lay the paper on the shirt (that is on the press) and press... what am I doing wrong? Thanks mate
Colby Nickell also... what type of gloss setting do you recommend? (ultra gloss, premium gloss, regular gloss)
Colby Nickell I don't use gloss, just the 6 basic printer dye inks, Black, Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, Light Cyan and Light Magenta.
Cheers
Martin
Colby Nickell My cover sheet is a teflon sheet that I place over the transfers to protect the t shirts.

Martin
hello martin I would like to know how many types of inks there are for the heat press machine
The heat press machine does not use any inks. It is just a controlled heat source.
Regards
Martin
Oh okay thank you for your answer. Now my husband wants to do some shirts and he doesn't know what kind of ink to use for the print out of his designs. He did some plastink and when we wash it it breaks apart. Can you advice on what kind of ink he should use please. Thank you

I also provide email support with the dvd. ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/ Check it out.

thank you martin great tutorial
+Kevin Mounsor Hey Kevin, Thanks for watching.

Hi Martin. What is the make of transfer paper you use? I've tested a dark t-shirt with a logo printed with dye-based inks using an HP envy printer, and YOLO dark transfer paper. But after one wash, the inks have started to fade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What temp did you wash at. Should be no higher than 40 degC.
Cheers
Martin
Was only 30 degrees, inside out.
Stephen Lowry
Maybe your heat press is not hot enough and not setting the inks properly into the transfer paper.
Would you recommend i try setting an extra 10-20 degrees to be safe?
Stephen Lowry
I don't know what press you have but the only way to know the real heat is to get a laser thermometer and check the heat plate as I did in one of my vids. and see if it matches the display temp and is heating evenly all over the plate.
Cheers
Martin
nice video in from miami. trying to start my shirt business
+Cierra Davis Hey Cierra, good luck with your project and thanks for watching.

hi Martin, I was looking for this ink you use on the Coralgraph ebay page and it seems that they do not have one for Ricoh.
Best check out my training dvd bud at ukinternetmarketingschool.com/my-products/t-shirt-transfer-printing-training-dvd/
Cheers
Martin
Hello Martin, Which Ink used in that printer?
I use cheap dye based ink for my t shirt printing. Check out my other vids for more info on this.

Martin
Can you please make a tutorial on how to make labels for dark shirts with this type of process, using dark heat transfer paper.
What type of labels do you mean?
Tagless labels that show somewhat like size of the shirt and maybe logo. Thanks so much.
I would personally get a sheet of plastisol transfers from a company that does this and then cut the sheet up to use as you need them.
Does it work if I use the transfer paper on a regular printer?
***** Yes, that's exactly what I use, a standard inkjet printer but you need good quality transfer papers.
Cheers
Martin
I'm trying to work out how I would go about using the silhouette to cut around text or complex shapes on either dark or light paper and get everything on a t-shirt without having to place each letter individually. Any ideas?
On light papers it's east as you just weed away the remaining transfer paper from the sheet and leave the image and words on the sheet and put it directly onto the garment. With transfers for dark t shirts, it's different as you have to remove the backing paper from the carrier paper so in this case, I only use darn transfers for images and if a design needs test, we do it in vinyl.
Cheers
Martin
Martin Butler thanks. I'll have to change my blade depth as it is cutting through the paper rather than scoring it. I could leave the image on the cutting mat, but that might melt under the heat
No, I don't mean the cutting mat, I mean the backing Paper
Martin Butler maybe it's the paper I have. I've been pulling the paper off and it's sort of working, but on slightly more intricate designs, it has ripped. I guess it's down to technique
The only way I can see what you are doing is to see a vid of you doing it.
Which heat press your using?
Junior Joseph The heat press in this video is a Stahl Hotronix but I am now using a Galaxy Heat press.
Cheers
Martin
Cheers
Martin
Mark McCann Hi, i have been using the epson WF7015 for sublimation in my gift shop , using it all day every day for over a year with no issues. just get the CIS system for it with good sublimation inks and you will be fine. its a cheap printer now as its an older model too.
Koochiekoo gifts
As you said, it's in use all day every day. The problems for beginners is they only use it on and off and they constantly block up if not in regular use. The Ricoh SG3110 has never given problems when only used now and then.
Cheers
Martin
Martin Butler i started with a richo but they are just over priced
Not the A4 version. The A3 one is.
martin, have you ever used laser transfer paper
I'm in the process of trying some now and i'll be posting a video soon.

Martin
amazing tutorial !!
+Lewisjamesofficial Cheers bud.

I share that in my training dvd.

What is the temp for light tshirt transfer and is it a cold or hot peal?
190 degC hot peel
Hi Martin, I am trying to get some info for Heat transfer to Dri Fit Shirts and shorts.
They are 100% polyester and are finding that platen marks are left on the shirt,
Have you done much on Dri Fit,? or have you got a dvd spelling this out.

Martin

Ok send to tshirtcave@gmail.com
do you ever find pressing changes the colour of your print? Im experiencing tis problem a lot!
+Mick Timoney it's probably down to the transfer papers you are using.

Okay cool I'm fin to purchase thanks
Why is one more than the other?
hello sir am using dark transfer paper with digital eye plotter but the issue am facing is after wash color is coming out like powder and the image is breaking...please guide if am doin anything wrong
It depends on what transfer papers you are using and also your printer setting may be putting too much ink onto the transfer. Try changing the ink setting to text and image instead of best photo. Also make sure your heat press has even temp all over.
what printer do you use
paul palla Listen to the video. He says.
What transfer paper you using to print on
i share that in my training dvd
thank you for teaching us
+ricky mercado Hey, glad you are enjoying the vids.
